Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Now this, this was a strange idea if Anna had ever heard of one. She'd been informed of it the moment she stepped outside the safe area into what was soon to become her hunting grounds. By a strange woman who seemed to live in and work out of the connecting area. There was one suspicious point. Another, she wasn't affiliated with the organization and had apparently been there since the beginning. But, whatever the case, it seemed like a good way for local users to scrounge up some money for equipment and the like. So, upon hearing the offer, Anna decided to take the strange woman up on it as well. What would she do with the money? Who knew. Probably just buy more ammo, or maybe the most expensive tea the city still had. She'd deal with that question later.
Another week later, and Anna was at it again. Most of the stuff that would be worth anything, Anna noticed, had already been found. But not everything. She managed to pick out a few things that had been completely glossed over. Like a firearms safe hidden in a desk (was that even legal out here?), and several collectible coins. And many other things that would be passed off as worthless by the average explorer. But even then, really good finds were still few and far between. She'd just have to go salvaging in less explored areas, she supposed. The castle and the pit would be hotspots for anyone who was capable of braving those areas, even if they'd be the least traveled by Users in the city as a whole. So what was left?
Anna was doing pretty good with this whole salvaging deal. She'd managed to find a few more bags worth of random crap just flying around places that other people couldn't easily get to. Like the top floors of buildings that were no longer structurally sound. Going in the front and climbing up was a terrible idea, so most people probably passed them up. Being able to fly to the top, drop in, and fly back out made salvaging from them much easier. Anna figured that this could last her a few more trips if they had to. If not, then she would think of something else. Or not.

Anna had just gone with more of the same this week. Flying to the tops of abandoned buildings in the ruins and looking for stuff to bring back there. She wasn't quite as successful as the week before, but had still managed to get a decent haul out of it. Besides, with some old computer equipment being among what she'd picked up, it would probably balance out, though. There was a reason she didn't get as much as last time though, and it was something she'd have to account for in the future. Namely, the wind that came off of Thunderbird's wings ended up causing one of her target buildings to collapse.
That was just how unstable they were, though. All she could do was find a better way to get in and out.

Admittedly, Anna thought, she could have just filled up on books from the library. There wasn't exactly anything stopping her, and she was certain that other people had the same idea. If nothing else, it would keep them from being destroyed in one of the many battles to run through there. But she also wasn't entirely willing to just strip the library, which was where that would ultimately end. Not when she didn't know where any of the junk was ending up, at least. Anna indulged the blonde woman on her junk dealer schtick, but she didn't exactly trust her. So for now, she just stuck to her usual routine to get things to sell.

As it turned out, the grand halls of the floating castle still had a few valuables left in them. The place showed telltale signs that someone had made a valiant effort to strip it clean, but they'd missed quite a few spots. So that was what Anna had focused on for this week. She'd taken her usual bag and wandered around the castle (occasionally stopping to shoot a shadow or two) looking for salvageable things. And she'd found quite a few, at that. Enough to fill the bag she'd brought, at least. Needless to say, it was proof enough that there were still objects of value in the castle. Not that anything explained how they got to be there in the first place.
Anna was bored. Bored bored freaking bored. As it had turned out, the shadows in this area weren't nearly as fun as they seemed at first. Now that she was mostly back up to speed, they were pretty underwhelming. She suspected that that wouldn't change anytime soon. All she had to look forward to were the rare anomalies that she might never run into, the big boys (and gals) that showed up under the full moon, and the prospect of a portal to some demon-infested mirror world showing up in the near future. Well, that and helping to train up the new blood, but that hadn't started yet either.
In the meantime though, amidst what fighting she did while looking for any of those things, she continued her semi-regular salvage runs. There wasn't much of interest to her to find out there, besides the occasional discarded weapon. But then again, that was why she was selling most of it.

One more extra run. For ammo money, or maybe for a new toy or two. Anna wasn't terribly worried which. She was still bored, and until night fell all she could do was continue to wait around or shoot shadows that mattered very little to her. Not enough interesting had happened since she got here. In fact, the most fun she was having was in flying around the ruined outer city and looking for cool stuff. It was almost like walking through the remains of a zombie apocalypse, except from up above. Of course, she was mostly on the lookout for things that she could salvage, and she came back with an impressive enough haul.
