Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Maria happened to find some junk while exploring shadow infested area's or just in daily life. She heard the junk dealer would give her some money if it would prove to be valuable. After all one man's trash is another man's treasure. Who know what good this could do? Looking around her house, the streets or the terminal would have some effect. Maybe she could also discover new or other areas where shadows dwell. She heard rumors about the outer city. But that those were way to dangerous. The west part of the city was safer, but she would keep it at the terminal for now. She was searching for things that could still be useful, just not for her. Yea that old piece of wood she found a few moments ago would be useless to her but maybe it could still be used to build something or to make fire. Just maybe she would find something she could use herself. That would be quite nice. But she just took what she could, whether it was of use to her wasn't necessary at the moment. This city was full of hidden ju... I mean treasure. Cause most things she found was just junk.

Maria had gathered a lot of useless treasures. Al right it's just some old pieces of junk. But maybe someone else would take them and make good use of them. That one person would be the friendly neighbor junk dealer. Who always took a lot of stuff and gave some money in all equality back. Especially in that car factory there would have been a lot of useful stuff for people to repair their car with in this city, or for other factories to use them. The Sewers however really only gave her junk. She did found some things in the chaos on the street in this strange period.
With a lot of more places explored now would she have a lot of good stuff. She wondered what she would get from the junk or stuff she took over from the car factory and the sewers. She found all kind of stuff there. She had to carry it all from the apartment to the junk dealer. But there was so much she couldn't carry it all at once so she would need to go multiple times. Maybe there was some of that junk that was actually worth something to someone. It was all useless for Maria though. She would have kept it otherwise.

So Maria did find some more stuff to scavenge at the airport. It was clearly not that much explored as the other areas. This might be good as she did find some stuff that could still be reused. Lot's of electric cables that didn't do anything there anymore and wouldn't work anyway in the state they were in now. The shadows had been busy with those things it seemed. It wasn't like anyone would miss them anyway. She also found some more trash. While most thing was just some scrap metal. As it was now it would be near useless. Maria was certain however that the friendly neighborhood junk dealer could do something with it however.

Maria had been to the mines and found some nice ore. It was near useless to her but she bet the junk dealer who always was so nice to give her some money for seemingly useless stuff could do something with it. Then again that guy might just be able to transform a stick into a sword with nothing but duck tape. She really wondered if he could do that. He just took about anything and she was sure he had some use for it eventually. What he did with all the stuff people left here she didn't had to know.

Another week went by, and not much actually happened. She went to train in regular places but there wasn't much more there then junk. She really was happy this junk dealer was taking it, but she was wondering what he did with it. Of course he didn't want to tell her. He wasn't... doing illegal things wasn't he? She didn't brought up the courage to ask him. Maybe if her courage level was higher. Wait, since when did she start using game logic to explain things? Well it made it much easier. Instead of if you were more courageous you could ask it? Maybe she didn't want to know anymore because her own mind blew her away.
With all what had been happening lately Maria was bound to find some new things. While her new persona weighed heavy on her, it also allowed her to go to places previously hard to reach. Thus she also could get more stuff. The junk dealer didn't say no that that. She still wondered what was going through the junk man to buy all that from everyone. She heard form other persona users that they also used his services. She wondered where he was getting to money but couldn't bring herself to ask it of him as that was very rude.

Another full moon, another month and another mountain of junk she could sell for a lot of money. Still Maria would wonder what in gods name the junk collector did with the junk of everyone in town. This really was useful though so she wouldn't ask to much questions. It wasn't like he was building his own mecha to take over the world right? Cause only an idiot would try that. She was certain that he was most likely using it as scrap or something to fix certain things in the city. Or maybe even sell it further for a better price. She didn't really want to think more about lest she came up with some kind of silly theory that couldn't possibly be true.
