It had been a few days since Aile met Tristan and Vice, and their little adventure to the blocked off zone that they referred to as the Shadow lands. There they instructed Aile, through some rather tough challenged, how to properly and efficiently summon and control his persona while also defending himself. This had sparked another idea into Aile's somewhat one sided mind, he needed to start training on his own so he could have some honest improvement, though he wouldn't disregard their training sessions that would possibly occur more often in the future, but if he only relied on those two and whoever else he came across, the magician would find no improvement to his power, only decline.

So here Aile was, wondering around the subway tunnels, with his wooden sword in hand and concentration on keeping Volt active. That was one thing he had been practicing over a few days, he had been spending all of his free time, which he had a lot of by the way, to focus on maintaining a steady connection with Volt, so he could keep him out longer and summon him quicker, because Aile was fully aware that an enemy would not wait for him to summon his persona so he could be the one who attacked first. So far, after the approximate three days of steady training, Aile could maintain the connection for about five to ten seconds depending on what he was doing.

After walking for a few more steps, Volt faded away for a while as Aile continued his trek through the abandoned subways. He was really looking forward to a few up close experiences. He then stopped as he heard some clanging from something that sounded nearby.

After walking for a bit longer, Aile had found out what had been making the constant clanging noises. Near him, but still far away enough to not be aware of his presence were three of the shadow sludge things similar to the ones that Volt had fought with upon his initial summoning. With this, Aile walked slowly, yet carefully towards the shadows only to be startled when he tripped over a nearby can, alerting the shadows of his presence.

Quickly he scrambled up, taking his normal stance, but the shadows had already begun their attacks. The first one had launched a fire ball towards Aile, which knocked him over and out of breathe, leaving him open to the next one which followed suit with a dark ball of swirling energy, which Aile had barely managed to get up in time to avoid the hit. After he got up, he prepped himself before charging towards the only maya that had yet to attack, striking it with his wooden sword before hopping away. The maya which had then been hit by the sword launched a bolt of lightning towards the magician, only for Volt to appear, taking the blunt of the attack, even though it didn't do much, almost nothing compare to the fire ball launched earlier.

Now somewhat aware of who could fire off what, Aile started to focus his attacks on the red masked maya, which, after he had luckily managed to cast Soul break onto it, stopped using its Agi spells. The other Mayas stopped fighting Aile for a few moments to see how the fight between the red masked maya would hold against the magician. It continued turning small parts of its body into blade like objects attempting to slash at Aile with Aile slashing back and a few of the slashes connected for both sides, though he ultimately finished it off with help from Volt, who cast Zio at the master's command.

Then turning his attention back to the other two Mayas, Aile began his assault, having Volt SKEWER the black masked maya, only to get a purple mist in response, and obviously assuming the purple mist was bad, Aile hopped and skid out of the way, waiting for the mist to dissipate, which it eventually did after a few moments. The yellow masked maya then decided to try another bolt of Zio towards Aile, only for it to have the same effect as earlier, it didn't really effect the male. Then after a few times, Aile managed to kill the black masked maya with more Zio spells.

Now all that was left was the yellow masked maya. He and the shadow could both cast Zio, so he assumed that the last maya was also resistant to that of which it could cast. To Aile it felt it the battle would turn into a war of attrition.

So, he began slashing and skewering the maya, while it dove and slashed at him in return, both damaging each other at their best, but unfortunately for the shadow, Aile's endurance held out longer, and in a tiring sweep of his sword, Aile cleansed what was left of the shadows in the current vicinity, but not at a cheap cost.

He was tired mentally, his body was sore, he had an on coming migraine and his body was covered with scratches and burn marks.

After barely winning his first actual fight against the shadows, and getting his ass handed to him almost on a silver platter, Aile slowly limped out of the subway, covered in blood, sweat and tears, luckily avoiding any more encounters with the shadows. After thinking back to a few days prior when meeting Vice, he mentioned something along the lines of "don't go alone until you have developed some more". Aile partially regretted ignoring this advice, primarily because of the end result, but he was happy. The magician somehow managed to make it out alive. He made his first kills.

So he walked slowly through the town, noticing as there were only a few people out and about, before realizing that night had fallen. The nineteen year old must've spent longer in the subway than he thought, but despite the current pain, Aile couldn't help but be happy. He managed to make it out alive, and the training had not been for nothing. It provided the persona user with a more detailed first experience against the dark kind, and he had made it out alive.

More time passed and Aile eventually made it to the dorm room where he was currently residing and took a shower, wincing at the cleansing pain that washed over his body as the hot water beat across his bruised and cut skin. Then Aile went to bed, he was tired and it was a well earned rest.
