Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Phoebe forced the door open with a crash. Her hammer was becoming useful for things other than battle, after all. A few more hits finished off the lock and a last kick knocked it open on screaming hinges. The scraping noise made her cringe and shudder. She hated those kinds of noises. She pushed the door open and walked into the office complex. This was new to her and she looked around, trying to get a feel for what was done here.
After a bit of snooping around and rifling through file cabinets and scattered papers left behind, she concluded that this had been a stock market exchange office. Who knows how many deals went through this place and how many of them went sour. No doubt this place's closing had cost people their livelihoods, if not more. The stock market was a particularly finicky kind of endeavor, just about as dangerous as fighting Shadows.
Speaking of Shadows, she wondered what kind of creatures would turn up here. Surely the noise she'd made opening the door had attracted some her way. Silly things had started to run away from her, lately, and that was somewhat gratifying and disconcerting at the same time. If they all ran from her, how was she going to train? And if they evaded her they might attack and hurt someone else.
They were all troubling thoughts indeed.

Phoebe looked at the Shadow that popped out of one of the dilapidated offices cautiously. It looked like it was pretty strong but she was confident she'd manage. She summoned Hypatia and she arrived with the now usual wash of orange light that heralded an automatic Rakukaja and the boosted defense that brought.
Just in time too, because the Drive-type rushed her suddenly, spinning around and manifesting what seemed like blades. Hypatia calmly stepped forward and raised her shield. The blade attack crashed harmlessly on the shield and the Shadow backpedaled as Phoebe willed an attack.
"Let's try lightning. Zionga!"
A bolt of lightning came down as Hypatia struck her shield with her spear and pointed it upwards. The Shadow was jolted and thrown backwards. Phoebe assumed it didn't like electrical attacks so she willed Hypatia to hit it again. After the second blow it reeled back and rushed them again, this time with a different attack. A massive force of kinetic energy gathered at its side and when it swung around it unleashed it upon them. Phoebe cringed but Hypatia was there to catch it with her shield. She managed to bounce it right back at the Shadow and Phoebe noticed that it didn't do much to it other than push it backwards and make it flail a bit.
Lightning would have to do it. She called down a third strike and that seemed to do the creature in as it slumped when it bounced back. Phoebe thought of going for it physically for a moment but thought about it better and had Hypatia finish it off with one last bolt of lightning. It exploded into bits of darkness and Phoebe breathed out.
"Well, that's that. Went a lot better than I was afraid it would. We really are getting a lot better."
Hypatia swayed a little, quite proudly.
