Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

This should be useful, somewhat.
The Android thought to himself as he idly stood by one of the resting areas in front of the airport building. This was a first for him, some mission or other about retrieving a few things for a select individual due to it being lost after shit hit the fan. Or at least that had been the mission objective and how it had been explained. The old him wouldn't have waited for the others to arrive, not because he was an impatient machine but because he alone would have most likely been enough to handle anything else.
Unfortunately, the him back then wasn't the him right now. Weaker, less capable, on so many levels but it probably was for the best. Going solo wasn't exactly the smartest idea nor was it the most efficient way possible to get things done. So here he was, the red clothed Android double checking on his equipment one last time along with the supplies that he or his group may need during the duration of this mission. He just wished they'd arrive sooner rather than later so they could finish this already.
With a smile, Xain grabbed his equipment. He was going on his first mission for the blond woman today, and he was excited. He was being payed extra to go recover items. It was like a typical salvage but with more money. Xain was in paradise, it seemed.
Still, there was the matter of the others who had accepted the quest as well. The robot went to the entrance of the area, where there was someone already waiting. Xain looked over the male before giving a slight wave. Xain walked over to him while pulling out his pad and pen.
He wrote down his name, made sure the other could read it, and extended his hand. Once introductions were in order, the robot attached his spears. He wanted to be ready for anything.

Another day, another shady job for the blonde woman. It seemed like a lot of those jobs were just requests to retrieve some sort of asset. Regardless, John did not ask questions as long as she kept paying him. Upon arrival to the airport he took a moment to asess the people he would be tackling this job with. Both of them looked quite young but John had recently learned that age mattered little towards one's combat ability when figthing shadows. They did appear to be quite confident. John hoped that they could bach this self-confidence up with actual firepower. He himself ignited the pilot light of his flamethrower and switched off the safety of his shotgun. He then stood ready to stride forward with the rest of the crew assembled here.

As everyone arrives, you begin your mission in the fields of the airport. The plane that you are to be entering is well within view. Making your way across the airfield, you are met with no real resistance in the form of shadows. However, upon reaching the plane, you can tell that it is filled to the brim with shadows. Looks like this won't exactly be as easy as one would think.
Luckily, you get a bright idea for how to go about doing this.

So no one bothered talking? And were they the locals that Pyxis had been talking about? Neither of them looked all that impressive, and the readings he was getting from their mere presence was easily dwarfed by the standard that the robotic maid had made prior to this meeting. Well, if they were here than that probably meant that they could do something. How much they could do exactly, well, Vincent was about to figure that out when and if they meet any shadows along the way towards their objectives.
And frankly speaking, there wasn't much of an opportunity for most of the way. And vincent didn't feel like talking to some decrepit old timer who would most likely fuck up with some stupid excuse like 'ow my back!' or something pathetically cliche as that. The blonde looked to be a lot younger, and could probably perform a lot better than the old guy if things got rough. Terminating the idle thoughts the moment his sensors picked up on shadow activity, the android just gave the two a knowing look and went on ahead first.
The path towards the insides of the airplane was pretty straight forward and the stair case leading up to the thing was still in good condition. Not to mention that it both looked sturdy and a tight fit. Funneling the shadows with a surprise attack towards the door should do them some good. Pointing over at the door first to at least let the people know he was going to do something about it, Vincent then stood a bit away from the path and willed Orpheus into existence.
The lyre wielding mechanical facet of one's personality, with the command from his user, plucked a few notes on his lyre before summoning some form of physical strike attack that was sent careening through the air and into the door; effectively smashing it back and taking out a one of the Maya's that had been unfortunate enough to be lounging there. The attack, unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how one looks at it) was enough to get the necessary attention and the Shadows predictably came swarming out. Not really having a lot of attacks that could do a widespread amount of damage, Vincent opted to focus on the vanguard of the first wave.
Key strikes with Cell Breaker, lightning, and his chains were enough to dissuade the first set of Mayas into their deaths, which meant leaving the rest to the others with him. Hopefully he wouldn't have to step in to go save the day or something equally nonsensical as that.
Xain looked on as an old man appeared. He started to chuckle at the comical sight of a retiree carrying around a shotgun and flamethrower. He couldn't help himself, he expected the old man to throw something just lifting one of the weapons, let alone both. Still, the old man had managed to make it here, so he could obviously hold his own. Xain was surprised, but he wasn't going to deny the fact.
The android watched as the man who had made it here first simply breach through and demolish the Mayas. Xain quickly armed himself with his spears, which swung out of his arms. If anyone were to be paying attention and knew nothing of the ASW's, they would likely be dumbstruck. Xain didn't care right now. They were in need of his offensive abilities.
The robot watched as shadows, which registered as Twins, filed out of the plane towards the fighting and were followed by a Gigas. The gigas was stronger than the sets of Twins, but Xain figured it would be easier for the old timer to take on one shadow at a time. That said, the android was going to lighten the load.
Summoning Dominion, Xain cast Aeon Rain and hurt everything that was still living. One set of Twins seemed to be drained, but nothing else was really affected by the secondary power of the attack. Didn't matter much to the android, though. He cast it again, finishing off some of the Twins and causing him to use Mudo and spear strikes to finish off the rest.
The Gigas was the old timer's, and Xain rather hoped the elder male wouldn't pull something. Or that another Gigas would appear.

The walk towards the airplane was silent, almost awkwardly so even. John had never been one to do much small talk while in the middle of something, especially if that something was creeping around on an abandoned airfield to retrieve a suitcase from monstrosities straight out of a cheap horror flick. He wondered why approach to the airplane was so calm. Normally, they would have encountered at least something by now. Of course, the calm couldn't last. It seemed the plane containing their target was dilled to the brim with hostiles. After a short moment of silence, one of the boys blasted the airplane open, causing the darkness contained within to spill out and attack them. It seemed like a tactically sound plan, forcing the shadows through a bottleneck to get to their enemies. They might as well have formed a queue.
His two compatriots had handled the majority of the enemy forces. They were 'courteous' enough to leave a gigas for John though. Not wanting to waste any time, he blasted the thing with a mamudoon. the darkness crashed into the overly buff shadow and ate away at its skin. Of course, like always, It didn't just up and die from the first attack. And it seemed this particular gigas followed some kind of vague martial arts theme. John wondered what he could expect from this one when it suddendly simaltaneously started flexing its muscles and shouting. John was too flabbergasted by this unexpected tactic to imeediately react. The gigas then started growing golden as well as acquiring a spiky golden hairdo for some reason.
John was not amused by this needless showing off. He interrupted the gigas' routine with a blast of fire from his flamethrower. "Hey! You gonna do anything anytime soon or what?!' The gigas struck some sort of exagerated pose and then started chargin up an attack... and charging... and charging. growing tired with all this weirdness, John whipped out his shotgun and blew the ineffectual gigas's head clean off of his shoulders. "Good, now that that's over, let's go into that plane and get what we came for so we can get paid" He was pretty annoyed by the stupidity he had just witnessed and wanted this job to be over quickly.

You quickly breach and clear the first floor of the jet plane. Things didn't seem all that difficult, though you still needed to get onto the second floor to claim the baggage that was located there.
As you ascend the stairs, you notice that there are far less shadows than on the first floor, but they are all well aware of you from the fight downstairs. Go ahead and take them out.

It didn't long for the squad to effectively terminate the shadows that had tried to assault them from the air plane. They weren't much to begin with but the numbers were something to take note of, and if they weren't careful they would have been overwhelmed. Thankfully the bottle neck procedure helped with that, even if they had to expend quite a bit more energy than was necessary to make sure that the things were really dead.
The next wave, however, had been prepared for their arrival and Vincent highly doubted that having them run after the squad would be feasible. That and there wasn't a lot of room to manuever anyway so it might be for the best to take the fight to them. Take as much ground as they can and keep the pressure on until the opposition breaks. A quick scan of his enemies, referencing them from past experiences and data still within his banks, Vincent tilted his head towards the side and signalled his group that he was going to take on the snakes.
Entering with the first attack, Vincent made sure to let loose his chain whips in a wide enough arc to get both of the Flight Attendant Snakes in two swings. Having drawn their aggro this time around, Vincent then hopped on over to the other side, his metallic frame proving to be a lot more nimble than what most would guess it to be. A Cell Breaker into the fray was exchanged with a ball of fire and twin shots of something pierce. The latter was resisted, barely did anything to the guy at all even, but the former managed to shake Vincent off where he couldn't capitalise on the Exhaustion settling in on the Snake that he had been able to target. Bracing himself once more, the Android sent out another Cell Breaker with the help of his persona although he too in turn had to take some damage himself to continue the assault. Soon enough however the enemies he had chosen to deal with fell to his continuous attacks, they did leave him quite fatigued physically with his HUD telling him that he had reached quite a low level for his endurance.
Thankfully the so called spiritual energy meter was just half way empty so while waiting for his friendlies to go deal with their enemies, Vincent began to heal himself to an acceptable level before going back into the fray to assist his group should they require it of him.
With the shadows effectively vanquished, the small party entered the plane. It didn't take long for the first man to engage in battle once more. He quickly took out the Snake shadows, which left Xain two options. He could either take out the Gigas and let the old man deal with the Mayas, or he could do the same plan as before and leave the Gigas to the elderly man.
Finding the second option to be comical, Xain grinned as he unleashed an Aeon Rain among the Mayas. When it proved that Pierce was their weakness, the robot's grin grew wider. One of the shadows tried to heal itself, but the andriod cut it off with another Aeon Rain. One of the shadows dodged the second rain, and was the only to survive. Xain took care of that with a Mudo, then turned to assist if needed.

So it was him versus a gigas again. It seemed like John never really fought anything else than those damn musclemen. He had fought other shadows to be sure, but it somewhat felt like a disproprtionately large amount of those were Gigases. In any case, it was about time he started worrying about the gigas standing in front of him right now instead of contemplating about the ones he had encountered in the past.
It appeared to be quite agitated, almost as if John and the rest of his party had intruded upon something they were doing. Of course, the notion that they actually were doing something even remotely civilized was absurd, at least to John's mind. The gigas, seemingly fed up with standing idly by while its compatriots were getting slaugthered, took some sort of dsramatic pose and shot a supernaturally strong blast of wind at john. The impact was quite painful, although it was not enough to take John out of the picture just yet. He responded to the attack with another mamudoon. The darkness, tearing through the plane's interior and blasting the gigas' weird pilot costume. this seemed to mostly just agitate the huking humanoid.
However, instead of attacking again, it stood it's ground and started gathering some kind of energy. John, being savvy enough to know that letting the gigas fully charge his attack would probably end badly for him, unleashed a torrent of shotgun shells on the shadow. He started slightly panicking when the gigas finished the charging phase of it's next move and moved in to strike, but he stood his ground, not willing to show weakness in the face of the shadows even once.
It looked like the gigas might just have gotten in a clean hit to John's chest had it not been hit in the knee at the last second by a shotgun blast of John. It still managed to strike a glancing blow at John, propelling him at least two meters backwards and through a row of passenger seats. The gigas, too wounded to move, finally collapsed onto the ground completely. For a few seconds afterwards, al was quiet. Then however, something stirred in the wreckage of what had once been airline seats. John dug himself out of the wreckage and limped over to the equally critically injured gigas. "This flight's been canceled, you can board an alternate plane with destination hell" The words echoed through the cabin, summarily followed by a gunshot which finished off the gigas.
John sat down in one of the decrepit airline seats, exhausted from the battle and obviously in quite some pain. He looked at his companions."Any of you care to heal me for a bit? that bastard really knew how to throw a punch."

The three of you manage to fight all the way to the baggage that you were sent to retrieve and take it. As you are about to exit the plane, you notice something behind you! One of those beast shadows is attempting to crawl towards you. You can not be certain how this large shadow even got on the plane but you can be sure that you'll be crushed if it gets too close!
Making a mad dash out of the plane that had been completely cleared, you may now leave and turn in the bag for your reward.
Mission accomplished!
You received your reward: Tier 1 Accessory of Choice, 1,000 FP

The fight didn't last all that long, the shadows in the area though a formidable opponent, stood no actual chance in the face of the combined might of the three of them. Nodding to himself, Vincent proceeded to heal the entire team one by one in the case of anything else happening and they'd have to either take it down or retreat.
Leaving the procuring of the items to the others and instead taking it up with himself to be the look out for the team, Vincent's sensors began blaring warning in huge bold letters once more and damn well meant it. Shouting at the rest to get the bloody hell out of there, the android did his best to do just that: get the bloody hell out of there.
Success in doing so, along with the others hopefully, Vincent gave everyone else a nod before turning around and heading on his own way. They can make it the rest of the way, really no need for him to stick around.
