The darkness in the chasm that was located in the outer circle was something that Luka had slowly become accustomed to. Even still, the girl much preferred to explore the citadel that was located well above the ground. The only reason that she was here specifically was because she felt that a change of pace sounded nice. The reason she was out here in the first place though? Well, there was a number of reasons really. Hey, Akira. She looked at the boy who was exploring with her this evening. I think I sense a shadow or two just up ahead. The boy was probably well aware of this fact, of course. The presence really didn't seem all that strong, of course. It was likely something that the two of them could take down with a single attack. This wasn't saying much, given that the two of them were likely a few of the most powerful users in the city.
As for the few reasons that Luka was here today, a few of them were quite simple. There was of course their desire to grow stronger in order to combat the shadows and demons that seemed to be targeting the city. Then there was the goal of clearing out specific areas so that hopefully the shadows would be gone for good. Of course, they were unsure if that goal was even something attainable. There was also the off chance that they could run into one of those sentient shadows. Taking out one of them would have been a great accomplishment. Yet, none of these goals were really a driving factor for today. The last reason was a complicated one that even Luka couldn't really explain. The girl had wanted to spend some time with Akira. That alone seemed like an odd reason, given they were around each other quite often being a part of the student council and constantly in battles together. Truthfully, she wanted to spend time with him where important things weren't the focus. A trip through a shadow infested area? A walk in the park for the two of them. Plenty of downtime and not too much work or focus involved. Honestly, she may as well have been fishing for a date with him. Yet, she couldn't possibly ask for such a thing. The boy would tease her to no end!
I think the shadows are just around the corner. I'll get ready for an opening attack. The girl got into position against a wall, waiting to breach and clear the room next to her. Many things were swirling in her mind at that moment; almost none of it being worry over the situation or the danger that came with fighting shadows. Quite honestly, many of these shadows were below the two of them alone. Together? They could quite possible take on some of the enemies that had appeared during previous full moons without extra help. Instead the girl was thinking over the situation she had set up for herself. She had Akira in the situation that she desired. What was she going to say? What did she even want to say? What sort of goal did she have? All she knew about were the feelings that had recently come to light during their trip to the citadel together. She simply had to decide what to do with these feelings. For someone who had spent the majority of their lives afraid of living life, dealing with a matter like this was truly unpleasant. She only hoped it would resolve itself soon.
