Name: Nozome Akimoto
Age: 23
Date of Birth: 15 March
Birthplace: Kawagoe city, Saitama Prefecture, Japan
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Face Claim: Original (An old commission of mine)
Appearance: Nozome is a well-shaped young adult, with both a slender frame and a not-ignorable chest. Her arms are slightly muscled, as are her legs. Her blonde hair flows fairly straight, going down all the way to her waist. Her emerald-green eyes shine with a complete lack of malice, betraying her naiveté. Her skin is fairly colored, not too tan yet not pale either. Her typical clothing includes a small pair of white shorts, a comfortable pair of black sneakers and a purple T-shirt. On certain days, you might see her trading her shirt for a jacket-like shirt that reveals her bellybutton, a pair of white gloves, a maid-like headband, and a silly pair of butterfly wings that seem to be rather uncomfortable.
Height: 5' 7''
Class: Persona-user
Arcana: XIX: Sun
Occupation: Unemployed.
Weapons and Proficiencies (Optional): With her background on being a Kendoka (Kendo practicioner), Nozome has at least a proper training with a sword. As such, she can use several ranges of swords, most likely katanas. (Slash)
Personality: Nozome is a pretty cheerful person, always doing her best to cheer up her fellows whenever they might be feeling down. Usually, she tries to act as girly as she can, speaking on a sing-song-like tone and being prone to break into silly posing every now and then. However, whenever it's time to get serious, her previous personality backs down revealing a serious, one-track mind that can only focus on her current goal.
Nozome takes a lot of pride on being as nice as she can to everyone else. She'll go to any length to help her friends, even if it means she'll end up making sacrifices, or ending up hurt because of it. She's extremely trusting, so she'll go to great lengths even for people she has just met. Deep down she wants to make close friendships, and she'll do her very best to make people like her.
When she's engaged in combat, Nozome tends to pick one enemy off and focus on it only. She won't fight another one unless her help is needed or her current target is defeated, so she's particularly bad at fighting groups. Likewise, whenever she's doing some menial task she'll do it until it's completely fulfilled, but whenever someone asks her for help she'll drop what she's doing immediately to provide support.
On her own, Nozome doesn't do much. Maybe watch TV or browse around for music, but not for long. A lonely Nozome is a restless Nozome, and she won't be able to relax easily. So, she tends to go out very often, only returning to sleep.
Likes: *Swords. Of course that Nozome would still have some attachment for the weapons that forged her early years. Particularly, besides her worn-out practice bokken, she was given years ago an actual katana that she kept sharp secretely.
*Magic. The power to do the impossible was always one of Nozome's secret desires. When feeling down, Nozome would always watch the Magical Girl series of the season, where willpower and a pure heart would always triumph over evil.
*Friends. As a particularly cheerful person, Nozome always valued her friends very highly. Having friends close to one's heart is the best feeling, after all.
*Speed. Nozome always strived to do things as best as possible, so she always would try to do things as fast and optimally as possible.
Dislikes: *Being left in the dark. Nozome does not enjoy being purposefully left off anything, be it something completely mundane or vital to her.
*Betrayal. Trust is a huge thing for Nozome. Anyone who has the gall to deceive someone else is someone who doesn't deserve to be considered as a friend.
*Evilness. The idea of someone doing the wrong thing for the sake of it sickens Nozome. People should be free to do what they wish to, but only if it doesn't involve the suffering of others.
*Loneliness. Nozome's life, one way or another, has been surrounded by many people. Nozome has never even considered the idea of spending a long time away from the company of people.
History: ]Nozome's story began, well, 21 years ago. A child of a loving couple, Nozome was raised with care and love during her whole life. Soon after she began going to school, Nozome's mind already was filled with a love for swords. After seeing a demonstration by a professional swordsman, she became entranced by the style. The elegance, the speed... She wanted to be like that person. So, during most of her youth, Nozome strove to be the best swordfighter she could. By taking up Kendo, she'd be able to do that, no?
Despite doing well on her classes, being an exceptional sword user, and overall being a nice person, there was something... lacking. On her kendo classes, Nozome found her personality a bit supressed by the harsh enviroment that a martial-arts class could have. By pushing her inner little girl deep inside, only then Nozome was able to live through it all. Working every day as hard as possible, that was her lifestyle.
Even going all the way to her university studies, she kept her feelings in check to do well on her kendo practices. Having been training ever since she was little, her technique and ability reached a very high level for her age. After graduating as a Chemistry Engineer, she still had a goal left: Finishing her 5-dan examination. The training was merciless, and the stress coming to a dangerous level. With a heavy heart, she made a decision...
"This will be the last one. I'll quit Kendo after this exam."
Redoubling her efforts, and making sure she was going to do her absolute best, Nozome gave her all on the day of the exam. And after all was said and done, Nozome could see with pride that she had passed. A perfect score, fitting of her last performance. With her parents' blessings, she then departed for a job that had been offered to her somewhere on China. Embracing the feelings that she had once cast aside, Nozome quickly became a quirky, extremely cheerful engineer that drew looks from her workmates and other people.
The following vacations, Nozome planned on doing a large tour all over Asia. And her first stop would be a rather popular tourist site, Mosaic City. Little did she know that not too soon after arriving, the place would be blockaded. A radiation leak, they said. Initially, Nozome believed so. But the time kept passing, and nothing happened. Getting worried about her money running out, and that no one seemed to worry about being trapped like that, she decided to at least, see what was going on. Finding a convenient gap on the blockade, Nozome snuck out, and found a terrible landscape. An alien sky, and only destruction all over the place. Was this really the world she knew all along? Her thoughts wouldn't be able to linger for much, as a set of cruel shadows would approach her position. Panicking and finding herself cornered against a wall, Nozome was ready to give up. But when everything seemed lost, something in Nozome's mind stirred. A sudden burst of light after, and a small bird stood in front of Nozome. She didn't need to ask any questions, it was painfully obvious for her. Using her newfound abilities to make a breakthrough back to her temporary home, Nozome found herself at a loss. Why was she able to summon a Persona? What was going on on the city? And perhaps more pressing... How would she keep living at the hotel, when she could barely pay for a couple of days of rent?
