Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
The sewers had revealed a new, deeper area within themselves. Xain would be either stupid or mysophobic to refuse to explore. He was neither, and so he went. Besides, his scanners said that the area was undisturbed as of yet. The android, explorer that he was, could not resist the urge to be the first to slay a shadow in a new area.
When he got there, Xain was unsurprised by the appearance of the area. After all, it was the sewers. Still, the android knew better than to let his guard down; he quickly revealed his spears as he went even deeper into the sewers than he ever had previously.
Walking on the side of the tunnels, Xain soon heard the approaching sounds of something large. He slid into an adjoining tunnel before whatever it was would overtake him. When he was passed by the shadow, the android was stunned.
It was a large, red, filthy shadow. It was of the Jotun kind; Xain's data files alerted him of that almost immediately. The robot had never encountered a red shadow before, and he had no data to go off of. His best assumption was that the shadow would be of a higher level than what was generally in the area. This slightly defeated one purpose of going into the new area of the sewers, but he wasn't going to complain.
The android stepped out behind the shadow and simultaneously summoned Dominion. He willed for a Twin Shot to be inflicted, and was pleased to find that it worked. The Jotun was surprised by the sudden appearance of the android and left another opening for attack. Xain, deciding to test for weaknesses, willed for a Mind Slice.
The shadow recoiled at this and seemed affected by confusion, but it took a chance to attack. It cast a powerful lightning spell which surged through Xain's circuitry. The robot withstood the attack barely, and he retaliated with another Mind Slice.
The shadow tried to attack, but struck itself. With a driving force behind him, Xain took this final chance to attack. He knew he would not be able to withstand another attack and cast Twin Shot. Dominion pierced through the Jotun's body and caused the shadow to dissipate. With a look of disgust, Xain fell to his kness.
That had been one of the worst fights he had been in. At least against other large fights there were healers.
