Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
She nodded as Alisa went to the lady to tell her what she wanted. Well, this was going to be a difficult choice. Hmm, maybe that police uniform might be enough for now. The lady that was on duty at the store might be able to check her size. She told the lady about her size and the police uniform that she wanted to get. The lady fetched a blue police uniform that fit her size which was good. Alisa had also said that she'll be waiting for her in case that she hadn't decided on anything in particular. After that was done, she went over to check out the police uniform and with her money spent from her wallet, that was done too. The police uniform was as good as hers.

After paying for my stuff and holding all the stuff in a bunch of seemingly high-grade bags I'd keep, all in one hand, mind, Alice seemed to have settled into getting the blue police uniform, but that was all. Once she was done as well, I stepped out of the store and waited for Alice. Once she had also left the premises, I nodded. "Well, that's that. Is there anywhere you want to go? We can keep going for a while if there's somewhere you want to hang out, or something." I offered to accompany Alice if there was a place she wanted to relax, or some other area. It was just out of kindness more than anything, and also I might be able to find out more about her. She seemed to come up to me randomly, after all, and most strangers usually don't just wander up to me for no reason.

Alice decided she wanted to go to the coffee shop. "That sounds like a plan. Let's go to one, then." I smiled and nodded at the younger girl as I decided to lead her ahead to a nearby cafe on the floor directly above this current floor. It was a dainty place I frequented a lot in the past but had been unable to visit in recent times due to the current situations. After making sure Alice hadn't disappeared on me or something I had Alice enter first before I went in. One of the waitresses there was a friend of mine. I greeted her and found a table for two for which Alice and I could sit at.
I asked for my usual, which was just a cup of house blended black coffee with a blueberry muffin. "You can go ahead and order what you like. It would be nice for us to talk so we can know each other better."
"Okay. I'll take my order." The smell of coffee was in the air and the waitress looked nice, no doubt about it. She asked for an espresso and the waitress nodded. Somehow, this kind of coffee had an interesting name. Alisa's drink had a strange name with a weird flavor to go with it. She figured that most coffee had strange names to go with it. Flavored coffee was something that she hadn't tried before, but that might be worth a try later. Looks like there were people sipping their coffee and socializing while others were on their laptops. She assumed that the waitress must be a friend of Alisa's. The coffee shop looked lively at least and it made the atmosphere much more cheerful than the Shadowlands.

"So... um, Alice... What do you do? I guess you're a student?" I asked the young girl as she took her order. I still kinda wanted to know more about her. "I suppose it won't be too much to ask if you're up to date regarding the recent happenings in the city. It's been tough to deal with everything." I attempted to make breadcrumbs regarding the situation on shadows. Depending on her answer, I might be able to discern her significance in the ongoing conflict. Come to think of it, based on what Pyxis told me, there have been an influx of ASWs coming in to join us in our fight. So maybe she might be one too, but if ASWs can't eat food, maybe she's not such one ASW.
"I'm a student, yes. I go to school like everyone else." she responded to Alisa's question. Nobody at school had ever noticed her as a strange kind of human. Possibly because they chose to ignore it. "I'm always up to date about what's happening with the city. It's the reason that I keep watch over everyone in the area." The city had always been attacked in the past months, so it was best to keep an eye to see what happens next. And who knows? Maybe there will be another Shadow coming in the next month. Speaking of which, she hadn't participated in a large-scale battle yet and the previous battle was over. Oh well, she'll get a chance next time. And there may be a chance that other people might be there too.

"You keep watch over everyone in the area?" I asked Alice as she explained that she's just an ordinary student, but yet decides to mention watching over everyone in the area. "Do you engage in fighting or combat or that kind of thing?" I scratched my head and looked at Alice, tilting my head to the side a little. She was certainly a strange person, but perhaps there could be an explanation for that. Anyway, if I could find out more about her, then I can formulate my own answer. Then again, I remember Pyxis' robospeak and this was kinda reminiscent of that, and I was hardly new to interacting with Anti-Shadow Weapons.

"Keeping everyone safe? Well, that's good, I guess... I'm working hard too, to keep people safe. I kinda don't want the place I live in going kaboom thanks to a bunch of bad things," I said and sighed, soon our orders arrived. The coffee with the muffin was mine, I always liked those. I took a bite of my muffin and twiddled with my thumbs. "Well, I guess I'll cut the crap. You got deployed to keep people safe? It's good to see that there are more people coming in to help out around the area considering that I have friends who have suddenly gone AWOL. I haven't been able to keep in contact with them, so being able to see fresh faces is a nice change of pace."

"You have friends too doing the same thing? Hmm. Well, I guess I might know some." I sighed and started to think about Pyxis again. Well, it would be kind of weird if I told Alice that I had a lady robot for a girlfriend. How does that even work? Well, whatever, it'll work out somehow and I'm sure Pyxis and I will figure that out somewhere along the way. "I guess that we'll find the answers to those problems later. For now, though, how long have you been in the area? Have you been here the whole time, or did you just get integrated into the local society just recently?"

"Recently, huh... I see... Do you need help, then? I've been going to places and I might have some information that you might want, depending on what you're looking for. I manage an information network here." I said casually as I sipped on my drink and ended up subconciously finishing my muffin rather quickly. I think it was clear to me at this point that Alice was in fact new to the area and thus was probably injected into the premises, so she could either be an ASW or she could be a veteran user. She probably doesn't know that I'm a fairly experienced User though. Ah well.

"Okay, so where do you want me to start? I've already formulated what you might possibly be at this point, so you don't need to be afraid about asking anything. I have a pretty good hold of basically all the major goings-ons regarding the 'enemy threat,' which I am sure you have figured out by now." It was true, I was by now considered to be on level with the veterans. I had the firepower to back it up though I supposed my endurance was still lacking. I would need to work on that. Meanwhile, it would be a good idea for me to form ties with more people as well, as more contacts does mean a wider spread of influence.

"Well, I can confidently tell you that a lot of strange stuff is going down. At first, I thought we were dealing with just Shadows, but eventually demons began to appear too. Last month some of us got into a battle with a slime demon. That really wasn't fun. But, it looks like Shadow activity as a whole remains aggressively docile. None have really broken into the city outside of cases during the dark hours of the midnight where a group of us band together and engage," I sighed and kept sipping on my drink. "If you're gonna ask about the military or whatever, don't bother. There's a high chance that military are probably just Shadows in disguise, so we'd better deal with that at some point in the future as well. Our priority right now is to keep the premises safe and also induct the newer Persona users into a stronger fighting shape."
"That's strange. Not only did you guys fight Shadows, but there are demons too. I know about that battle from the last month too. The slime demon was there and also a huge bird of some sort. The last month after that had a shrine deity and the wolf demon. Curiously, there were also two Shadows that resembled the sun and moon in a shopping mall. It seems that those large Shadows tend to appear in safe areas of the city." It was bizarre that those Shadows had different appearances, but there were demons that appeared there too. "The military is suspicious lately with their so-called quarantine in the city. And yes, the premises will need protection as well as the normal citizens that live there. The newer Persona Users will need to get into shape for the next large battle that is to come. Maybe training them in preparation for a full-scale battle would be a good idea."

"I see, so you're well acquainted with the events within the past couple of months. Yes, it's a problem. I'm glad that you're quick on the uptake. So I guess judging from this conversation you figured out now that I'm also part of the fight. I look forward to working together with you." I nodded and smiled softly at Alice. More allies were always a good thing. And, I can tell Pyxis about it as well, that I found another ASW. At least at this point in time I was confidently sure she was an ASW. Eventually I found myself at a loss as to how to keep this going. After a few moments of awkward silence I cleared my throat. "So... uh... How's life for you here going so far? Adjusting well enough then given the situation?"

"I see, so you already saw me..." I had to make a mental note that she was already here for a while but not very active. "That's good to hear then. We should be careful and do our best in the days to come. If I have my times correct, the next engagement should be coming up fairly soon. We should make the necessary preparations and get ready for when that time comes. I have a bad feeling about it." I continued and nodded as I looked away and out at the window. As of recent times, it feels like there are less and less of us around. And I hadn't heard from several people before, something which I still struggled to come to terms with. Had they just up and quit? They wouldn't just go MIA like that without reason...
