Post by Ayakura Alisa on Jan 5, 2014 2:36:58 GMT -5
Name: Ayakura Alisa (usually, referenced by her last name eg. "Ayakura-san")
Age: Twenty-four (24)
Date of Birth: July 26th
Birthplace: Shibuya, Tokyo; Japan
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual, has a preference to females
Face Claim: Ryougi Shiki, Kara no Kyoukai
Appearance:
Height: 5'5"
Distinguishing Features: She has a strange case of heterochromia; her left eye is red, while the other (right eye) is brown. She has a healed, but rather large, scar which runs down from the left side of her torso to the right along her stomach.
Class: Civilian
Arcana: Hanged Man
Occupation: Freelance Writer / Graphic Designer by day, Rumormonger / P.I by night.
Weapons and Proficiencies (Optional): Alisa has practiced some martial arts when she was a little bit younger, but she tends to be most comfortable wielding a knife. As for how she received the ability to properly use a knife, this will be explained further on in Alisa's history.
Personality: Alisa was always some two-faced sort of person. She has her "usual demeanor" which she employs when she goes about her daily day-to-day life, being passively friendly towards strangers and making sure not to pick fights with anyone, generally behaving like how a typical law-abiding citizen should behave. As she should, because she works as an unassuming writer and artist, to be too brazen may turn people off from hiring her as a writer or to commission her for work. After all, this is how she earns money, and she damn knows it. On the other hand, she's a bit more open with anyone she deems her friends, and seems a lot looser than her usual deadback, boring self. Intelligence is not something she has in extreme amounts, but she is smart enough to be able to handle decision-making with only a little pressure.
However, things get a bit different when she's on the trail for something she's looking for, or when she's hunting a lead that may help her accomplish her goals. She can be a little on the vicious side, almost predatory in nature, and this is something she's had to hold back in front of her contacts and in front of friends, as she is a little stubborn when it comes to trying to get what she wants. She gets a little potty-mouthed as well, but this seems more restricted to flowery versions of cursing rather than... cursing outright. As a result, it can be rather insufferable to stay near her when she's concentrated on a goalpost - some extreme form of tunnel vision, one might say. No, this side of her doesn't necessarily make her a tomboy, she's simply a woman who knows her priorities, or something to that effect. Well, that's her defense for it. It's almost schizophrenic or bipolar in nature how she manages to switch between phases so well, but she has no mental condition.

History: Alisa Ayakura is the product of an international relationship between a young German woman and a slightly older Japanese man. Apparently, the young couple met each other through an online website and hit it off rather well, and it certainly helped that the dad, Kariya Ayakura, was reasonably well-off and had a stable job in the computer industry, supplementing that with writing work on the side. However, though the union was a happy one and the eventual marriage turned out great, Kariya learned something about his spouse, Anna, that he might not have wanted to learn (but eventually ended up not regretting), shortly after Alisa was born - Anna was a dealer... Not a typical dealer of wares like in retail, but rather, a dealer of illegal information. Anna sought to use her own expertise in combination with Kariya's knowledge in order to conduct investigation on suspicious behavior all over the world.
Of course, this resulted in some form of neglect towards Alisa, but apparently the young child at the time didn't seem to care much - she was more interested in what her parents Kariya and Anna were doing rather than having a normal childhood. On top of that, when Anna discovered Alisa was interested in their work (Kariya had eventually warmed up to Anna's proposition once he found out that through Anna's information and details he could find ways to improve his skills and earn more money), the German lady used this opportunity to turn Alisa into her successor. Thus, their work was sent to a slowed pace as Anna used this important time in a child's years to mold Alisa into someone who would eventually come to act just like she did - inconspicuous on the outside, but a ravenous vulture for information on the inside. On top of that, when Alisa became old enough to handle dangerous objects without potentially slicing herself open, Anna taught her close quarter combat.
Upon being asked where she learned how to fight by Kariya, the wife answered with "that's classified," before giggling. The indoctrination process had finished by the time Alisa had just finished high school, which resulted in the young teenager having an eye for things that Kariya and Anna may have missed, and they became to be somewhat of a family team. Eventually, while Alisa was looking up some information for pursuing higher education under the suggestion of Kariya, she happened upon a strange new place hailed as a tourist attraction and "gateway of nations," this would be Mosaic City. "Maybe we could move there, if there are people from all over the world gathering there, it'll be a melting pot of information we could snatch and sell off to interested parties." Alisa suggested to her parents, to which the pair nodded in agreement, though Kariya expressed worry with regards to his current job. However, after some negotiations, Kariya was permitted to work at the conveniently located Mosaic City branch of his employing company.
When the family moved to the city, things were rough at first, since only Anna had fluency in any language that wasn't Japanese, and Alisa's own English was rather tenuous, though eventually she would come to learn and improve it a lot. Investigation flourished within, as Anna and Kariya found things they never would have learned simply staying in Japan. However, the success was soon ground to a standstill - the so-called "military" came to the city and initiated a quarantine operation. The report was that a "large radiation leak" had taken place outside of the city and thus barricades were necessary to ensure everyone's safety. Most of the inhabitants surely enough didn't question it, as... Well, nothing bad really happened within the city's walls themselves.
Anna and Kariya had some problems with that analysis. Alisa hadn't learned enough about radiation to come up with her own conclusions yet, and was stuck listening to her parents debating about how "there would be a radiation leak conceivably large enough to necessitate lockdown of an entire city, let alone a city that was already thriving on its own." Thus, the three eventually decided something funny was going on, and they wanted to see if the claim actually held weight, or if it was all just a bunch of crap. After several weeks of research, Kariya and Anna had decided that Alisa was old enough to hold the fort on her own and they simply told her - "We are going to conduct field work. If we don't come back, just assume the worst."
They left her there to fend for herself. Alisa didn't care, because she knew they would come back for her.
They never came back.
To this day, Alisa doggedly investigates the disappearance of her parents, simply awaiting closure, desperately searching if they may have died, or if they may be out there, somewhere, hunting for the truth. Her experiences have caused her lots of grief, which drove her to write and draw art as a conduit for stress relief... As such, she has tried to get recognized by the greater media in order to earn money for herself... As well as deal information on her lonesome.
The truth is out there, somewhere.
