Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

John had returned to the place of his previous emberrasment. He had finally given up on just winging it in regards to dealing withh the smells of this place after his previous visit here sent him on an impromptu daye with Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. He had bought a rather cumbersome looking gas mask from some backstreet survivalist store back in town. It looked like even a healthy man would have difficulty breathing in such a cumbersome thing , to say nothing of an old codger like John. Still, after the previous incidents he had dealt with down there, John was wiling to risk that if it meant he would finally be able to breathe freely down there.
It didn't take John long to walk the way he had grown accustomed to after so many visits here. He started to notice that even though Exploration was usually rough here, he was making quite some progress in his admitedly rather arbitrary goal of reaching the bottom of this place. Still, it was easy to be ambushed here, as was kindly demonstrated by the being that John bumped into due to his vision being impaired by the gas mask.

What John had encountered now looked like something straight out of some generic fantasy game. A woman sitting on some kind of altar, a beacon of purity in this filthy subterranean world. Of course, like all fair maidens in evil locales, she ahd some kind of migthy beast guarding her. In this instance, it seemed to be a rather malmutated gigas. Of course, sometimes there was the twist that the fair maiden was evil all along. John assumed this to be the case considering the fact that the subjects of this analysis were shadows, and also the fact that the maiden seemed to be casually commanding the gigas to attack John in a femme fatale kind of way.
the gigas charged at John while the woman just lounged on her upside-down pyramid shaped throne and watched. It was quite obvious she would only interfere if she was directly threatened. The gigas stepped forward and flexed it's muscles. As it did so, it's warped body was briefly bathed in a faint orange glow similair to the gow seen with defence enhancing powers. John was not planning on letting this enemy bolster its defences to nigh-invulnerability. He blasted the gigas in the knee with his shotgun, a common tactic by now.
It's warped body did not seem to have need of kneecaps anymore however, as the ensueing charge was not hampered in terms of speed. It was also hard to predict the giga's movements.John expected the gigas to simply punch him like every gigas had done before. It bended its arm back to an unnatural angle and whipped him instead. John took the hit as would be expected when being attacked in an off-beat manner, meaning John took the hit squarely on the chest. It launched him across the room and into a wall.
The gigas looked back to his dark mistress expectantly. She rewarded him with a round of rather meek applause. As the dust settled though, it became clear that the day had not yet been won by the shadows. John was still standing quite firmly. More importantly, he was now angry. "I was planning on taking it easy with you. Guess it's time for a change of plans." The gigas made a taunting gesture at John, as if asking him to 'bring it' so to speak.
John wasn't going to let this ess up his focus though, he stood his ground and let loose another salvo of shotgun shells upon the now rather distant giant. The ceaseless assault made the beast stagger to the ground. John moved in a little closer to John to finish his enemy off by application of a shotgun shell to the head. Just as he was about to destroy the malformed giant however, he heard an alluring whistle. He couldn't help but look at it's source.
It was the female-looking shadow. She had shifted her stance in a way that emphasized her 'assets' quite clearly. John, being ,being a man, was totally distracted by this manouver. Still though, It should have been little more than a momentar distraction until the realization of her true nature would have kicked him back into reality. However, it seemed the shadow had placed sme sort of spell upon John that clouded his judgement. He was completely entranced by this unnatural creature. He didn't even realize she was healing the gigas behind his back until it grabbed him by the neck and pinned him to the wall.
The gigas was clearly angry now, rather than ending John then and there though. It looked over at the woman to see what her orders were. She gave a clear order by gesuring thumbs down. It looked back at John just in time to look down a shotgun barrel at point blank range. Naturally, it was the last thing the being would see in this world. The Gigas knocked off of John by the force of the blast. He needed a moment to catch his breath. A moment the female shadow was not going to give him. she weaved a blast of air to hit John, throwing him off his feet.
The remaining shadow, still seated in her floating throne. Drew coser to John. She had quite an irritated look. A reasonable thing considering John had just killed her bodyguard. In her frustration, she ripped of John's gas mask. The various smells of the sewers again assaulted John's nostrils. the cocktail of smells had a peculiar whiff that gave him an idea though. It seemed there was methane in the air here. john beat the female shadow over the head with his shotgun and scrambled to get himself upright again. he ran away to the corridor he had entered the room through. He nonchalantly lighted his flamethrower and took aim."soory lady, you're just too hot for my tastes" The initially rather small flames quickly ignited the explosive gases in the room, setting absolutely everything on fire. John was again launched back by the force of the explosion.
As he came to, he could see, and more unsettlingly, hear the female shadow burn. Her screams were sounded just human enough to be rather unnerving. They quickly died down though, leaving only the silence of the sewers and the crakling of a few remaining flames. It seemed John was victorious.
