Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

'Good' and 'guy' were rarely, if not ever used to describe his person and Tenchi found himself confused at the statement. Just because he followed common sense of what a decent human being would think regarding the statement didn't mean he was a good guy. Tenchi would be the first to let a person know that he's an asshole. He made no attempts at hiding that fact. He stated things directly as the thoughts came to his mind. It rubbed the people the wrong way and often got him in trouble. Yet despite all that, Seiji was still trying to make him hang out at the manga shop sometime.
It was… odd. Odd to have someone willingly ask him to hang out sometime. Odd to have someone even want to be around him longer than necessary. It was just… so very odd. "Uh…S'pose it wouldn't hurt. Prolly end up bored. Manga s'not really my thing." Actually anything that involved his eyes roaming across a piece of paper to obtain information wasn't really his thing. Books should learn to speak the words to him rather than him having to read them. He might actually finish reading a book that way.

"If it's any consolation, it's not really mine either. But um...how'd Takeda put it?" He broke into an almost exact imitation of how his brother talked, not that Tenchi would know that since he had never met the guy, "It's a job even if I gotta put up with some sweaty nerds wanting to jack off to anime girls." He blinked and looked at the other boy with nonchalance, like he hadn't just sounded like a gruff 20-something with a potty mouth.
"For some reason, there's audiobooks there too. Don't really know why, hardly anyone bothers with 'em, but maybe listening would be more your thing?" Although he wasn't planning on telling Tenchi this, Seiji found himself debating what would be worse, his new friend being bored senseless on the first floor or revolted by the mess on the second floor. Images of Tenchi going into a berserk rage upon smelling the burnt pizza almost made him chuckle. His imagination was almost too crafty for his own good.
"It's not like you have to come by my place or anything. Maybe you could teach me how to make stuff with fabrics sometime. I didn't get my brother anything for his birthday. Surprising him with a blanket or something would make for a pleasant surprise. Maybe he'd thank me with colorful language. And it'd all be thanks to you, Sensei." Seiji closed his eyes somberly and dick a mock bow from his chair. He wasn't patronizing Tenchi, exactly. He was being dramatic for the sake of being dramatic.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”

”Jack off?” It took him a moment before the phrase registered and Tenchi suddenly felt disgusted with the idea, ”Th’hell people doin’ that shit in a store for? Gotta jus’ knock their heads in.” Seriously, people were just sickos in this city. If he was running a store and that happened in it, he would have beaten the hell out of them as well. It just wasn’t right and it was inconsiderate.
They had audio books, but Tenchi wasn’t sure he would be too keen on listening to books either when they had customers who were doing that sort of thing in their place. He’d probably be far too busy with smacking the crap out of people instead. He shook his head in disbelief. People were just simply messed up.
Teaching him how to make stuff with fabrics would be a far more reasonable plan. At least at his place or father’s store there wouldn’t be people doing anything nasty. If he didn’t do anything, his father would certainly throw them out of the place. Wait… ”The hell makes y’think I know how to make anything? Do I look like someone who would even be interested in that crap?”

"They don't do it in the store." Seiji replied, "I think. I...I hope. I think Takeda was just expressing his disgust for them for what he thinks they do." He'd never bothered going downstairs during business hours because his brother always said that he didn't need the help and he wanted to spare Seiji the sight of the horrors below[/s] the customers that frequented the place. How new shipments of manga got through the barricade and how nobody found it strange that new manga got through the barricade was beyond Seiji.
There were a lot of things beyond him given how strange the situation was. But at least there were cool people like Tenchi around to keep his mind on happier subjects, even if the gruff, older boy probably didn't think that way. He seemed offended after taking a moment to think about what he'd said. "I'm sorry. I just assumed you liked that sort of stuff, given you were shopping for it. It sounds like a neat little lucrative hobby. And in a world where grown men collect figurines of ponies, it's not like people look down on folks who are good with fabrics."
Well, at least, he didn't look down on those kinds of people. Seiji wasn't judgmental, he just made assumptions based on mostly logical observations and totally off the wall ideas.
