His blood was pumping, the sweat on the back of his neck beginning to drench the shirt he had worn for this day, and his eyes felt like they could see everything in better detail than before. He felt like his heart was going to burst out of his chest and the burning in his lungs was something he had enjoyed feeling. The sweet breathable air that went in and out of his body allowing it to keep on running despite all else. Everyone said that it was dangerous, the military themselves had admitted that the place outside the city walls were a detriment to everyone's health. They said that everything was under control but as Vice first laid his eyes on the wasteland that was outside of his home town, the only thing he could feel then was anger. Unadulterated, unfiltered, and unabashed anger at this secret being kept hidden from him. No, it wasn't the whole act of betrayal, of turning their trust against them. No, Vice was simply furious that such a wondrous thing had been kept away from him because some people thought they knew better. They probably did, but it was still something that enraged the young charcoal haired male. He didn't care if he was just a civilian, he didn't care if the military said that it was off limits, this place sported danger and so many things to see outside the dull walls that protected his town.
This was what he lived for, even if Vice didn't know it just yet.
He felt the smile on his face stretch as the sight of the building became clearer. Even if his feet felt like they were on fire from the constant moving and exploration of the place, he felt like he had enough energy to keep going until the night. The magnum that he had worked with for a while was kept within easy reach in case those 'monsters' suddenly came about to try and harm him. Heh, even if they came about, Vice was gonna be ready for them. He had no special powers, but he had a brain and when one had a brain then they had the ability to think To think was to adapt, and to adapt was to survive. He could do this, step by step sure but every thing had a weakness and whatever it was Vice was going to exploit without hesitation.
The doors to the first floor of the building had been left open, wether it was on purpose or not didn't matter to the business graduate at all. Vice quickly grabbed the gun from its holster and readied it for combat. The satisfying click of the gun was like a blanket of safety for him as he stuck to the walls and made sure to keep his vision unobstructed. He was reaching an intersection and the thrumming in his chest made it hard to breathe but christ he'd be lying if this didn't excite him more than training with people who were willing to hurt him.
