Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

There was a splash as Lot landed in the sewage. A circle of light shone from above. He had simply upended a manhole in one of the more dead districts of the city and dropped himself in. Smells like shit... He chuckled a bit at his own joke. He had come here straight away after leaving his meeting with Alisa. They had agreed to meet for an exploration the following week, but Lot saw no reason why he couldn't try now. She's probably going to explore on her own anyways. Shouldn't be a reason why I can't. tapped on the flashlight on his waist, illuminating the expanse of the tunnel. It wasn't too incredibly spacious, but it was roomy enough to move around without too much trouble, except for the muck, but Lot didn't really care about what got on him anyways. He didn't have anyone to impress today. He drew his knife with his right hand and placed it on the gun with his left. He the knife-length aligned with the grip of the gun. He had seen it on some TV show and had tried it out of curiosity. The method was indeed useful for switching to a knife strike quickly from shooting.
All that was left to do was wait for some of those Shadows to show up. If the situation got too hairy, Lot had no problem with escaping back up the sewer hole into the relative safety of the city. He had to know what he was dealing with firsthand to be useful to anyone else.

Dave watched as the creature approached him. It was not what he was expecting. If he was seeing it right, it looked like a shapely woman sitting cross-legged on some kind of upside down pyramid-thing that really kinda looks stupid. He backed up a step. He wasn't sure how the creature fought, so it was wise to remain at a distance. He pointed his gun towards the creature. It had some kind of mask on its face. He felt the air chill considerably. Was it the aura this thing gave off? No, it was something else. The air was just...getting colder. His hands seemed warm enough though. His feet seemed fine as well. Weird... the extremities were the most sensitive to cold. What is going on? Things weren't making much sense.
It was only by some animal reflex instinct that Lot dove forward just as the Bufu spell was finished casting. He hit the sludge and quickly righted himself, glancing behind him and seeing only shards of ice where he had been standing. So that's why I shouldn't have come here alone. He didn't need any more provocation. He started to shoot. The sound of his gunshots echoed down the tunnel, creating a cacophony of gunfire.
The bullets ripped through the shadow "flesh". But they didn't seem to have the effect they would normally have on a human. While there was pain, there was no immediate incapacitation. They're resilient too, then. He chuckled as he snatched a magazine from his jacket pocket, clicking the empty Magazine free of the gun, before he reloaded. He kept firing. The air around him grew cold and he quickstepped forward, hearing the spell hit nothing again. Too eas- He let out a cry of shock as he felt a sharp stabbing pain in his shoulder. Something cold and hard was lodged inside the flesh. More outbreaks of pain fored on other parts of his body. He wrenched whatever was in his shoulder free.
It was a small shard of ice. It must have been shot out from the ice's explosion into reality. The wounds didn't feel that deep, but he couldn't take anothe rhit like that or he would be significantly slowed. He began firing again, rushing to close the distance between the shadow and himself. It began glowing a strange color and Lot felt a mystical energy engulf him as he ran. It lasted only a second before it cleared. Did it not work?
He made the final step between himself and the shadow. He jumped forward, knife ready, and plunged it into the human-like neck. He began firing directly into its head. One full magazine later and it vanished and black cloud. He breathed a sigh of relief. That was actually pretty dangerous. I need to get out before more show up. He didn't take time to reflect on anything else before he dashed back to the manhole entrance and climbed up the ladder. He shut the cover behind him.
