'Stratum Leader'? Is that what they called the giant monstrosities that would randomly show up at each area now? Well, I guess I could follow that labelling convention too... It was fine by me. Vice mentioned that it would be advantageous to form a corps sort of deal; a group of people willing to fight together, to suffer together, and all that jazz. Not necessarily relationships borne of sentimental emotions, but rather those of 'pragmatism,' stuff that clearly allowed people to fight better together against a common evil, for people to cooperate, and all that magical stuff.
"Yes, I understand your point... But it's not necessarily easy, you know?" I smiled sheepishly, finishing off my sandwich. "I kept getting on the bad side of one of them when I insisted on my pursuance of the matter, this whole business, even though I didn't have that power. I was treated as a child. In some ways, I was a child, insisting on my particular way despite the risks and dangers of undertaking that kind of mission. I didn't want to admit it, but... after recent times, I've come to admit that..." Sipped some water. "People disagree, sometimes. It's natural. I just don't like it when disagreements can come from the fact I don't have the same power as everyone else. And I can assure you that the tension that came from that one meeting all came from the fact I did not have that power, gathering everyone who did have that one thing I lacked. It made it seem like I was using you for my own purpose... When in reality, I was not. I was exactly trying to encourage the very thing you suggested."
