Name: Holly Mason, went by "Vidar" on the internet and will sometimes use that alias elsewhere when she wants to sound cool
Age: 17
Date of Birth: July 26
Birthplace: Mosaic City
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Face Claim: Ashikaga Chachamaru - Soukou Akki Muramasa
Appearance:
Height: 5'10"
Distinguishing Features: Holly rarely goes outside without some kind of makeup; about the only consistent exception is when she's exploring outside of the city. She doesn't normally wear that much though.
Class: Persona User
Arcana: Star
Occupation: Student, Holly has no need to act like a mere peasant.
Weapons and Proficiencies: Holly has always been good at throwing things. Recently, she got her hands on some actual throwing daggers, so she prefers to use those rather than improvise whenever possible. Does Pierce damage.
Personality: Holly is rather vain and egotistical and it's very difficult to miss. She carries herself not just with an air of confidence, but an air of complete infailibility. She is HOLLY and there is nothing she can't do. Her egotistical nature is fairly obvious. She walks around with a constant smirk plastered across her face, and often treats talking to people like she's a queen giving some peasant the honor of speaking to her. She believes that all people have a use, and someone just needs to swoop in and show all the little lost lambs where they should go. She believes she's perfect for something like that, so it's not unusual for her to try to get people to do things she wants. She'll rarely use blackmail or other coercive means to do this however. She prefers mutually beneficial relationships and making friends instead of enemies. Thus, it's common for her to try to throw money at people.
Even though she'll often deny it, she dosn't view people as tools for the most part. She genuinely loves people and hates seeing them unhappy. She tries to help people when she can, but she's also afraid of being taken advantage of. That's ultimately what caused her to adopt her more indifferent, "queenly" mask. She really wants to be seen as tough, not just to feed into her own ego (because who doesn't like being super cool and badass?), but also to protect her own feelings.
Holly is a fairly ambitous person. She's not so much easily bored as difficult to satisfy. She wants to be doing something at all times, and not just "anything," something big or at least something exciting. Strictly speaking, cleaning her room would qualify as "something," but she wouldn't be interested in something so boring and meaningless. She wants to take over the world, or at least spend a bunch of time in an abandoned area with man-eating creatures about. The former is big and noticable, the latter is just exciting. She likes the adrenaline rush, living on the edge of life and death. As far as she's concerned if you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much space.
Likes:
+ Dancing, she knows swing
+ Make-up, particularly for disguises or more "artistic" make-up rather than just boring old hiding flaws make-up
+ Dangerous situations
+ Talking about herself
Dislikes:
- Authority that isn't her
- Serious people
- Slow days, menial tasks, waiting and anything else that prevents something exciting from happening
- Being alone
History: Her mother is a lawyer going into politics, her father owns a large international shipping company. The latter is what drove them to come to Mosaic city nearly 25 years ago. It was the perfect place to expand their company. Thus, Holly was actually born in the city itself about eight years after their arrival.
Her parents never got along. Holly's not sure why they got married, but sometimes she wished they'd just stop already. They were pretty much always yelling and arguing, and while it might drive some kids to work extra hard or do terrible things in order to get their parents' attention, Holly just silently judged them and determined they were morons that weren't worth her time. She had a nanny and she would often see her parents' friends' children, so it's not like she was exactly starved for attention. Life at home was just uncomfortable.
While she didn't feel starved for attention or want the love and attention of her parents, she did find herself constantly bored. She came from a household where "can I have 5000 dollars" wouldn't result in an "are you nuts?!" but rather a "yeah, sure, whatever." Holly grew up getting basically whatever she wanted. At first it was great, but as she grew older it was almost stifling. There was no reason to work towards anything because she'd immediately get whatever it was she wanted. She had little sense of achievement, and it just started to feel like there was no point in doing anything at all. That didn't sit well with the girl, so she started seeking excitement from other sources. She wanted everyone to know who she was, and she wanted to experience everything there was to experience. At first, it was just simple things like going out after dark or climbing big trees. However, as she continued doing things it stopped feeling satisfying. She needed something bigger, better and more exciting.
Her nanny started to get worried when Holly would come home in the middle of the night with cuts and bruises. She would often joke that she was surprised that Holly still had all of her teeth. Eventually, her nanny managed to convince her parents to force her into some outside activities. At minimum, it was effective at keeping her safe by eating up her time, but it did seem to mellow her out a little bit. As she grew, she stopped doing most of the activities forced on her, but she did decide she really liked dancing and continues to go to her lessons to this day.
She moved out of her parents' house and into one of the free apartments for students as soon as she was able to because her parents were just completely insufferable. She wished the place was nicer, but it was cozy enough, and it meant she had a space to herself to do whatever she wanted. Around that time, she decided she wanted to learn how to fight because movies and video games made it look easy and like a constant source of entertainment. She picked throwing weapons, particularly knives, because they just seemed really badass. It proved to be much more difficult than she thought it would, but it was definitely fun. She just hopes the landlord won't mind the dents in the wall too much.
When the blockade went up she just HAD to check it out. It was both incredibly dangerous AND authority said she shouldn't go? There might as well been a billboard that said HOLLY GO HERE. She managed to sneak her way in, but the place wasn't what she imagined. It was so much better. Her first time there she was nervous, but it was a good nervous. She didn't hear any voices, but she just felt like she understood where she needed to go. The moment she gazed upon the purple sky she knew something was wrong, but she wasn't disappointed. It was a brand new place, a hidden place, a place that most people didn't know about. It was absolutely perfect. And that was before she even realized it came with super powers. Leaving was more difficult than coming in because of the monsters lurking in the area, but with the help of her persona and a lot of running away she was able to escape the place.
Not that the monsters would make her never go back. If anything they encouraged her to do so.
