Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Maria didn't mind. She liked to play all kinds of games. As long as Sakuya liked a game she would join in it. She also didn't mind to let Sakuya choose the song as Maria choose the previous song. Maria just kept standing on her place, waiting while Sakuya prepared the song already. She listened to Sakuya's choice while doing so. 'Quite challenging?' Maria was about first to see then believe. She will just do her best like she always did. As the song started it indeed was more difficult then the last. It sounded better though, so it was totally worth it. She missed more then the last time. Afterwards She looked at both her and Sakuya's scores.

Maria didn't seem to mind that Sakuya chose, and that she ended up choosing a reasonably challenging song. As she waited, Sakuya could tell that she at least liked what was going on. Once the song had loaded, it appeared that Maria was questioning Sakuya on what was about to happen. When the song started, the arrows were much faster than before. There were only a handful of jacks and barely any trills, but the speed of the song was much faster. However, Sakuya had practiced this song a fair bit and as such only messed up on the parts that she consistently messed up. However, she enjoyed the Eastern beats and always had a fun time. At the end of the short song, it looked like the scores were slightly more even, though Sakuya was still a fair bit higher than Maria, who didn't seem to be too used to the speed of the song.
"I did worse than last time," Sakuya said, "But our scores aren't that much different from each other. You must be quite good at these games."

As they were finished Maria's eyes were wide. Almost... She really liked this song. She never heard it before and it was challenging. She began to think about what they could do next. There were more machines then these. Sakuya mentioned that she didn't like the shooting machines so Maria would avoid those. Maybe the racing games? Or maybe the fighting games? hmm... Maria wasn't a good chooser. "Wow, you're good, do you want to try another game?" Maria asked the younger girl. Maria had so much fun with Sakuya. It was a nice change from teaching children or gaming a alone. She was curious what Sakuya would say.

Sakuya fidgeted and looked around. There really were other machines to play on as well and to be honest she wasn't sure if Maria wanted to stay here. And as if reading her mind, Maria asked Sakuya if she wanted to try another game. She pretended not to hear the part where Maria said she was good, but secretly, she was totally alright with that. "I don't mind trying another game, Maria, why don't you decide what you want to play on? I don't mind playing on any of the other machines but I'm not a hundred percent sure on what you would enjoy." Sakuya nodded after she stopped looking around and looking for other machines that Maria might possibly like playing on.

She let Maria choose again. "Well, that's the same reason I asked you!" Maria asked, who liked most games. So if she had to pick. "You said earlier that you didn't mind to race too?" She asked the black haired girl. She really didn't saw much else then racing, shooters and the dancing games they just did, maybe if they looked around they also could find a fighting game. "Well, since you come here everyday you also should know which racing game one is a good one? Maria wondered, asking curiously at the girl. Maria had forgotten about the shadows and the entire situation the city was in already. It was just so much fun to hang out with Sakuya.

Sakuya fidgeted. Oh, that made sense, she guessed. It looked like Maria seemed to fancy going at one of the racing games. At this Arcade there were two racing games Sakuya knew were quite competent and fun. One of them was a simple karting game that had item boxes strewn along the court and it was possible for the racers to collect items inside the boxes. These items could then be used to mess up your opponents. The other one was a more serious racing game that required some semblance of driving skill, it was far more competitive and had some seriously challenging tracks. Both games had their good points and bad points. Sakuya simply wondered which one of the two would be more preferable to Maria, since one was casual and the other was for more hardcore audiences.
Sakuya began to lead Maria to the karting machines. "I know two of them but I think maybe the more relaxing and casual one would be better for us."

Maria followed Sakuya to a carting game. Maria actually preferred these over those 'realistic' racing games. There was just so much more to do in these games. More strategy and if you fell behind a little you could still make it. It could change any moment. She never played this game but these games tend to give better items to lower position player or computers. Which made sense as it would be harder for the lead to stay that. "All right!" She said enthusiastic when entering the small vehicle she was supposed to sit in. Maria then inserted some money for her and Sakuya so that they could start. She then choose a track, a driver and a vehicle for her to use. It wasn't really a difficult track, but it had a few surprising sharp corners on a few points.

Sakuya smiled as she realized that she had made the correct choice; Maria seemed willing enough to join her for this particular karting game that was totally not Mario Kart on the Arcades, though it seemed to be a localized spin-off of such. Sakuya did not doubt that Maria was familiar with the games herself, and seemed enthusiastic enough when she entered one of the cabinets which was shaped like a kart. Sakuya sat on the one next to her, and watched as she booted up the machine and saw Maria choose a track. The track itself was on the easier side of the spectrum, though it was notorious for its deceptively tough sharp corners that required kart drifting, something that most new players at the game had a difficult time with. That said, it was a good intermediate-level player track and Sakuya wouldn't have too much difficulty on it.
The racer she chose was balanced all around; Sakuya focused on using her skills and gaming the system in order to win such races. She would never stick around first place in the first couple of laps because of the risk of one of the latter players throwing an item that instantly homed in on the player in first place and then blasted them, so they would be knocked down some notches. Regardless, the race had already begun and Sakuya had coasted through the first two laps hovering around the third place.
Here was where things started to get serious...

As the race began Maria kept up fairly good. She constantly switched ranging from first till sixth. Damn those blue thingies. It wasn't going good at the start of the last round. At the end of the first round Maria was seventh. Not really good. But she got a good item only a few seconds later. As a result Maria was fourth by the time she finished the second round. Shortly after that she had some homing missiles which she fired a single off. The player or computer which was third at the moment would probably get hit by it. She continued her race. This game was so much fun.

Sakuya fidgeted as she realized that some missile ended up hitting her from behind, so she got knocked back a place. Or two. Or three. Well, truth to be told, Sakuya wasn't very good at racing games. But since Maria seemed to be having a good time (Oh, SHE shot that missile! Little rascal! Heh...) Sakuya honestly didn't mind. By halfway through the last lap of the race Sakuya was at second, and she was wondering which place Maria was at. If Maria was behind, Sakuya wondered if she could get past ahead with some skill. If she was ahead at first, Sakuya wondered if Maria would screw up and let Sakuya get first place, or if she could maintain her lead. It was pretty exciting!

This game was getting hot. After Maria hit Sakuya she easily ride past her while she was slowed for a few seconds. She already imagened her character turning around and sticking out his tongue but that wouldn't sportive behavior. So Maria just ignored it and just kept at it. Sakuya was actually really good. But Maria was hanging first now. The finish line was almost in sign so it wouldn't be long before Maria would win. Maybe if someone from behind did something quickly. time was running short. Maria knew this track, the finish line was close around the next corner.

Sakuya tried to regain her footing but at this rate it seemed like Maria would maintain her lead, the item box didn't give her anything useful but instead just a banana peel, which was pretty much useless considering that her target was in front of her and not behind her. But ah well, she seemed to know the track very well, and Sakuya could respect that. One of the things a racer should know is the track that he or she was racing on. So definitely, Sakuya expected Maria to win barring some miracle rocket or some other sort of hazard. In the end, her expectations were not betrayed as Maria did indeed take the first place with Sakuya trailing at the second. "Well, that was a good race! You won that one pretty nicely."

Maria finished first. At least she beat Sakuya at something! Well, even though Sakuya wasn't good at racing games she still finished second. "Nice race. I thought you weren't good at this, but I did have a hard time." Maria said to Sakuya. It was much more fun if they were even. If one party was clearly better then the outcome was often decided beforehand. Which was sadly more then often he case. This race however was pretty good. Sakuya could stay before Maria for most of the time, even though Maria tried to be first all the time. "So, is there another machine you want to try?" Maria asked Sakuya.

Sakuya shrugged. She wasn't very good at it, but she just figured she got unlucky there. She probably could have snuck an upset on Maria if the right item came out of the box. "Is there another machine I want to try?" Sakuya scratched her chin as if in deep thought. "I'm not really sure, actually. That said, I am starting to get a bit tired... I do want some time to stretch and relax for a while. Wanna hang out somewhere more calm and relaxing for the meanwhile? I'd like to get to know you a bit better. I mean, so we can be better friends 'n all." Sakuya nodded, smiling warmly.

When Sakuya noticed and noted about being tired, Maria could feel it a little too. It had been a long day, looking after the children and having fun with Sakuya. Something calm and relaxing. After going into some deep thought Maria concluded that she did not knew of such kind of place. But if Sakuya would like to do something else, other then gaming she was willing to go with her. "Sure Sakuya, though I am afraid I don't know such a place. Do you know one?" Maria asked the other girl. Curious about what she would answer to her. She couldn't think of a place where they could do an activity in peace and quiet with multiple people.
