Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Still very much able to recall the slimy Shadow encounter vividly in her mind, Chidori was wary as she re-entered the abandoned building's premises. Once again, she was flanked by office rooms as she stalked down the hallways, ears keenly listening for any sign of other presences. Carefully making her way back to the main administration office, the mute began delving into the filing cabinets again, hunting around for anything pertinent to the investigation.
Of course, she was also keeping a high level of awareness about her surroundings; if another Shadow wanted to get the jump on her, it'd have to try very damned hard to sneak through. Nevertheless, this work was mundane, repetitive and menial at best - a battle with shadows might very well prove more effective in gathering relevant information. Something for the brunette to think about whilst she mulled through stacks of papers and other documents.

Chittering sounds filled her awaiting ears, and Chidori swiftly put the documents she had been looking at down, setting herself up near the door as she peered outward. Unlike last time, there were multiple shadows this time, and they were heading her way. They all looked like cupid Shadows, which could be utterly varied like most shadows in terms of strengths and weaknesses.
One of them spotted movement, as the mute ducked back inside the office and set up behind the desk, ready and waiting to blast them as they came through; the doorway would bottleneck them, forcing them to enter single file at most, mostly negating their numbers advantage. Juno appeared around her, and the moment the first one came through (wearing overnight nurse clothing of all things) she blasted it with Hamaon, her hairpin glinting. The Shadow was torn apart on the spot, fortunately (for Chidori) weak to Light attacks. Behind it, only slightly unnerved by its companion disappearing in the blink of an eye came another Nurse Cupid, though this one seemed more or less regular.
As if imitating her, it fired back with its own Hamaon...only to brush against Juno like a fly, thanks to her resistance. Grinning, she switched tactics, firing off a bout of Mudo, throwing the Cupid back a little as she scored a hit against its weakness. Unrelenting, she battered it again and again with Mudo until it too dissipated, leaving only one last cupid...that was dressed in such a bizarre outfit she could not even give it a significant name. Flames surged forward, burning the desk in front of her and blazing across her left shoulder, singeing both Juno and Chidori's dresses. Gritting her teeth, the mute backed up, trying to blast it with a column of light, only for the cupid to keep advancing without even flinching.
Electricity shot out from its bow, zapping her with an all too familiar surge of energy. Getting a little pissed off now, Chidori realised that it was a proficient magic user, and could very well nullify all of her magical attacks...which left only her needles. Reaching for the needles hidden on her person, Chidori began to spray them out in a careful volley, ducking behind the desk between attempts to avoid the retribution. She could feel the flames charring through it though, and it wasn't long before she had to roll to the side to avoid getting burned. Fortunately the Cupid was wearing down, and with one last, well-placed volley, it faded into nothingness, leaving the mute panting for breath. She really needed to get another multi-hitting spell to deal with these shadows - it was getting hard to manage groups on her own.
