Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Very little time had passed since the woman's first skirmish in the building. Only four and a half minutes, at best. She had already gone a good bit around the floor, avoiding numerous Shadows along the way. Desks made for good coverage. Cubicles were an absolutely trap, though. A Shadow could just nestle into one of those squares and then go to town once someone passed by. Fortunately, she didn't know this from experience. Keeping mostly to the walls and shadows, she had made good progress. Still, she could not seem to find the stairs. That was problematic. If she went on much further without any new evidence of their presence, she might have had to head back. She was looking for a quick ascension, not a slow exploration of the floor.

As the woman proceeded onward, something seemed off. Stepping back at the last second, she narrowly avoided a cross-slash brought by two more sword-wielding arms that had popped out of their mounds. Even had the blades hit her, the attacks would have been useless, but it was not good to assume, based purely on instinct. That they were blades was purely a chance. The woman drew her blade, summoning Yaksa by will as she prepared herself. The entity, rather than attacking, used Sukukaja. The woman and her Persona would then be capable of even more evasive maneuvers. So long as they were not aware that their slashes were useless, there was a good chance that they would continue to attack using them.
Again, the blades came swinging. She stepped out of the radius of one and into the other, but quickly shifted free of the second one as well, effectively baiting both the enemies into leaving themselves helpless. Yaksa twirled and slashed one up. Shirako, stepping in, unleashed a terrible downwards slash that severed the wrist again. Shirako's target tried to flee. Yaksa, swapping with her, charged after it, continuing its dance of blades. Meanwhile, the woman was left with the “whole-bodied” Shadow. It slashed at her, its blade bouncing off like a soft rubber ball. In return, the woman slashed downwards anew. The arm had caught on to the strategy, shifting the important bits to the side, but still suffered from a massive cleave that parted a chunk of the arm from its “body”.
The Shadow twisted its blade, attempting a rain of stabs. Shirako just swayed to the side to avoid the first few, eventually being entirely out of range. When the flurry ended, she shifted right back to the Shadow, unleashing a terrible horizontal swing. Directed where the “elbow” was, the blade severed the top of the arm from the bottom, leaving it mostly helpless as it started to bleed out. Shirako felt a pull. The Shadow was trying to drain her energy. In response, she leveled her blade, prepared another swing, then dropped the figurative guillotine. As she finished with her opponent, Yaksa returned at a relaxed pace.

It seemed that there was nothing else coming to investigate. It was a fortunate turn of events, she supposed, considering that that was the second time she had to fight unnecessarily in a short time. Gazing on into the next room, it did not look as though a stairwell was nearby. The woman clicked her tongue. Fortune, indeed. She wanted to get to the top of the building- find any signs of her students' having been around. She knew one of them loved crap like that- ruins, apocalypse settings- as a human. Their Shadow couldn't be too different on that level. If she could just find some of those signs, she wouldn't have to deal with the building again.
Still, it seemed she would not be quite so fortunate. With a silent sigh, she sheathed her blade and dismissed Yaksa. Turning on her heel, she began to head back. She knew the paths she took to get to that point, so, fortunately, getting out would not be an issue. She just hoped nothing annoying occurred.
