Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

When he saw what Vice had picked out for him, Tristan suddenly realized that letting him pick wasn't the best of ideas. After all, he had only seen a Knight shadow once before; he wasn't even the one who fought it that time. That was when he had encountered Phoebe in the graveyard. Fairly good memories, and the shadows weren't too difficult to deal with.
Still, this knight seemed far more powerful that the one before. That didn't mean much of anything good. Still, Tristan was the one idiotic enough to say that Vice could choose. "Gotta own up to what I say," he said to himself, unsure if Vice heard him or not. With a deep breath, he summoned Pyro Jack. "Let's hope he doesn't absorb fire. Agilao!" As Pyro Jack amassed some flames, the trinket Tristan had gotten started to glow. Then, with a finger pointed at the Knight, Tristan watched as the fire burst forth, enveloping the shadow.
The Hell Knight had simply been minding his own business. Doing whatever it was that Hell Knights did whenever they had free time. Which meant that Vice couldn't really think of anything even when calculating what he would've done had he been fighting him instead. Fortunately for him, the young man had already fought one of them before and this one carried the same colour scheme as well which probably meant it had the same attributes as the one before.
Not like he'd go around spoiling it for the other kid.
When the fire ball had erupted and wreathed the Knight in it, the Knight himself just shrugged it off without much of a pause. Oh it hurt, but not to the point that it was unbearable. Besides, knights like needed to be strong and showy and thus could not show any kind of pain in battle. Hefting a massive cross bow into existence, how and where it got one Vice would never know, the shadow aimed down his sights and fired a Poison Arrow at Tristan.

Tristan looked directly at the arrow that was headed for him. It was coming at such a speed that it wouldn't have mattered if he were to try to dodge or not. Even so, he couldn't take an attack like that head on. So he tried to dive out of the way, but was clipped on the side. He went spiraling backwards, landing near where Vice was.
He felt sick, but he chalked that up to the blood coming from his side. I have no way to finish this fight quickly, yet if it drags on for long I'll end up dead.
Figuring that since his strongest attack actually hurt the Knight, Tristan commanded Pyro Jack to send another boosted Agilao at the shadow.
Well, figuring out that Tristan was weak to pierce and against an opponent whose main form of attack seemed to be said weakness, Vice decided that it was probably time to step up and actually do something more productive than watching the shit get beaten out of the kid.
"If you have any light skills, use them next."
The red eyed asian informed as he dutifully watched the Hell Knight take the attack once more. It couldn't shrug it off as well as before which meant that it was getting uncomfortable having to deal with that many attacks. Inserting a full case of bullets into his upgraded Revolver, Vice raised the heavy firearm and aimed right at the shadow's forehead. A short breath, relax, and the bullet flew straight at area between the Knight's 'eyes' while it was charging up a Tarukaja.
"Better yet, any Piercing attacks is gonna hurt it more."

Well, at least Vice is deciding to help... Tristan was at a great disadvantage here. He was apparently weak to pierce attacks, and that seemed to be this specific Knight's main attack form. However, it seemed this Knight was able to stand multiple medium-power attacks. Vice suggested that he could use light or pierce, but Tristan was weak with his sole light attack and he didn't happen to be able to pierce. Still, he stood up and summoned Pyro Jack again.
"Hama! Now!" He commanded Pyro Jack, but he felt dizzy and nauseous suddenly. As a burst of light hit the knight, Tristan fell to one knee, prepared to puke his guts up. He looked up in time to see the Knight swing a large sword at Vice. Tristan groaned weakly, but was unable to go anywhere. He could just hope that Vice could take the hit.
The kid's preparation didn't bear him much merit. Still, at least he had some a light attack that had managed to confirm that the beast did have a weakness for the light based attacks. Having a Null in the Mudo category would give someone that assumption at least. Still, the Agilao would have done more damage still but given that Tristan was practically puking his guts out by now, putting more strain on him would've been just cruel.
When the beast had lunged at them now, replacing its cross bow with a gigantic zweihander, Vice smiled. He moved forward with a casual pace and, for all intents and purposes, wanted to catch that sword. The upgraded attack of the Hell Knight fell upon Vice who reached out with a single hand. The thrum of Arondight's power flowed through his body and had nulled the attack. He didn't have any kind of super human strength to keep the Hell Knight in place but at this range, he didn't have to.
A swirling ball of dark purple energy began to swirl by Vice's side, courtesy of the power that his Persona held. The Almighty attack didn't even take that long to ready, and with a vicious smirk did the biker lunge the orb of power straight into the beast's mount.
"Vanish."
And with the same command, the Hell Knight followed and dispersed in a shadow of evaporating ichor.

What. The. What attack was that?
Tristan was in awe. He had guessed earlier that Vice was superior to him, but he didn't expect to him to be that much stronger. He had just nailed the Knight with a powerful spell that Tristan had never seen before. And you'll probably never see it again if you don't find a way to quit throwing up.
Looking down, he saw just how much he had vomited. He had gotten rid of his entire dinner, as well as bits of his lunch. He was only dry-heaving now, so he guessed his stomach was emptied. He still felt sick though, and started to topple. Well... Goodnight world, he thought as his vision faded.
Now, at first glance one would suspect that he had just died. However, upon closer inspection he would be revealed to just be unconscious. It seemed that he was sleeping off the poison.
Bottling up all of one's frustration was unhealthy but the release of all that with such a devastating attack? The feeling was glorious, and bathing in the Ichor was slowly becoming something that Vice enjoyed.
Even if it was him basically swimming in shadow intestines.
The euphoria left pretty quickly however as Vice's sadistic tendencies had to be curbed given he had a companion. Poisoned and probably hallucinating but a companion nonetheless. Slicking his hair back an away from his face, some of the black blood being flicked away with the motion, Vice had to give a rueful shake of his head when he saw the kid had already lost consciousness.
And here he told himself that he wasn't going to baby sit. Despite having enough power to take on pretty much anything out here now, it would take a lot out of him and since he had to make sure the newbie didn't get his ass eaten, he couldn't risk that.
An irritated sigh escaped his lips before he holstered his revolver. Walking back to the downed form of the pumpkin, Vice carefully hauled and dragged him by the scruff of his collar. It wasn't comfortable, but Vice knew from experience that it wouldn't be killing anyone.
By the end of his little trip, The biker would've successfully dragged the unconscious boy's ass back to a slab of concrete. And now to play the waiting game until said kid woke up.

When Tristan woke up, the first thing he realized was that he had to vomit. After emptying his stomach (again), he noticed that he was no longer in the field. He was on concrete. And Vice was standing over him. With a weak grin, Tristan looked up at him. "Heh. That was a first. They do that often?"
It was a lame excuse for trying to start a conversation, but it was the best he could come up with. Not only was he still puking, but Vice had now saved his life again. This irritated Tristan, as the whole point was to pay him back for his saving his life earlier; however, Tristan was glad Vice did it. "Thanks."
Vice wasn't exactly feeling all too hyped up now that he had been regulated to unnecessary babysitting duty. Unfortunately, much as he wanted to just leave the kid now that he was awake, he knew that he'd basically be sending him out with a death wish and that wouldn't do. Annoying as he was right now, there was still some potential left in the kid.
The biker didn't bother replying to the question and just began to walk off a bit to recheck on their surroundings. Wouldn't do to get blind sided by some over eager shadow that actually had a chance of pulling something off.
"Do better next time. There won't always be back up to help you out." Turning around to look at him again, a speculative gleam in his red eyes, Vice asked: "You ready to go home?"
Post by Tristan Carter on Mar 5, 2014 21:07:51 GMT -5
Tristan considered saying no, that he could go on. But that was a bald-faced lie, and he knew that Vice would know it. He was in agonizing pain, and he knew it was showing on his face. So he chose his words carefully.
"If you feel I should keep on, I will. I won't like it, may even hate you for it, but I would keep going for a bit. However, I feel like shit. I've vomited multiple times, my side was bleeding pretty badly earlier, and with the enemies around here I know I don't stand a chance."
He struggled to climb to his feet, and used his scythe as a prop-up. "I'm in no condition to go against you, so you'll just have to lead on."
The heavy click of his revolve echoed in the proceeding silence after Tristan's statement. If Vice were to be honest, it would have been better to just say 'I wanna go home' because that would have so been so much easier to do rather than trying to put up the depravity act.
"Retreating's a sign of courage and knowing when is a sign of wisdom."
Without so much as another word Vice readjusted his gloves and his leather jacket, it still had a few holes in it from recent events even, and began to walk back towards civilisation and where 'safety' was at least assured from the shadows. Hell, he was still feeling pretty good so maybe after dropping the kid off back at base and going out for another run around the area wouldn't hurt. If anything, it'll just test his endurance to make sure he wasn't getting soft.

Tristan didn't know what to do. He tried listening to the person who had more experience, and was disapproved for it. That didn't seem right, but he didn't care. What he cared about was how he just got stomped by two huge Shadows and it didn't seem that Vice cared at all. Man... Did I just waste time with this guy? I thought he'd actually try to help...
Then he realized that Vice did help. He killed the shadow that was actually a major threat to his life. He dragged him out of the infested area to relative safety. So, with a grin on his face that quickly turned to pain, he started to hobble after the guy who had saved his life repeatedly.
Vice wasn't really trying to leave the guy behind, honest. Still, speed was an issue here and the guy trying to hobble up to try and catch up was eating up a lot of it. Shaking his head and loading out the revolver, Vice took a good look on the battered form that was Tristan and pretty much gave himself a chance to evaluate a small training program that the kid could probably use in an effort to get himself up to snuff.
It also meant that he was 'patiently waiting for the kid to catch the hell up.' It also meant that they were being tailed by a couple of curious, but easily dealt with, shadows. Not that it was a problem. Unless those thing had a resistance to pierce, then Vice was pretty sure they were going to go down in one shot. That said, one of them had gotten a bit too close from behind and with deathly intent did Vice raise the gun towards Tristan's direction.
"Don't move."
Those were the only words that left his lips and micro second later, a bullet was fired and whizzed past the Jack User's head before blasting a hole through the Maya's aggressive form. Loading up the fire arm again, the young man took another glance at his surroundings before looking over at Tristan.
"Don't worry about them. Even in your state, they should be easily dealt with. Just make sure not to get blind sided."

Tristan was shot at. That was the first thing that occurred to him as Vice leveled his gun and pulled the trigger. The second thing was a question- Why would he save my life, then kill me? Then he heard the explosion of shadows behind him. Tristan turned towards it, but the shadow was already gone.
"Umm... Thanks." Tristan was relieved that Vice had taken care of the shadow. It wouldn't have been fun to be attacked from behind in his current condition. With an appreciative nod in Vice's direction, Tristan continued using his scythe as a hobbling stick. He kept glancing behind himself to make sure nothing tried to sneak up on them.
