Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
Aleister let out a yawn as he walked through the park and took another sip of his latte. Today was just another day. He walked on outside, got some fresh air, killed a few shadows, and walked on out with whatever discoveries he has made. Aleister had to admit that he is treating this lock down more like a playground than anything else. Being free from that organization's constraints was another huge plus.
He sat down on the bench and continued sipping his coffee, watching whatever few people come and go. There wasn't much going on, much to his chagrin. Aleister might as well go back to the outer circle. Say what one will about the organization. There were at least people he can annoy there. Maybe he should visit that book store and try their coffee. Speaking of coffee he should get another cup. He looked at the empty cup in his hand and tossed it over to a trash can...only to hit someone. He admittedly chuckled and gave a half hearted...
Xain had been looking around the town, trying to locate areas of key importance. When he came to the park, he had slowed down to a leisurely stroll. He wasn't sure why, but he wished to spend some time in the area. Perhaps it was the fact that the area was one where an individual simply melds into the crowd, or perhaps it was the fact that he wished to spend more time with what little nature was in the city.
Either way, it didn't matter when he was hit with a cup then heard an apology. He looked at his attacker, and saw a young man. The male was easily mid-twenties. Xain gave a simple smile, so as to say "it's fine." He then looked at the man closer. Something made the man seem... Off, and the machine simply could not place what it was. Perhaps it was the eyebrows?
"It's fine."Aleister looked over at the one he hit in the head. Not much of a reaction huh? How disappointing. His eyes scanned him for a moment. Unusually tall, blonde hair, maybe European. The lack of a reaction and simple words was boring though. It's starting to remind him of the few occasions he had to observe shadow unit testing. He wondered about the applause for every little success. Those people are more easier amused than he is.
"Be a dear and throw that away from me will you?" He laid back, not bothering to place the trash he threw in its proper place.
Suddenly realizing what was his issue with the man was, Xain took a step back. The robot could tell that the man was just an irritant, one who hasn't a care for others. The robot couldn't understand why there were humans who were like that, and he honestly didn't care. He just wanted to help the man realize that it wasn't a good idea to act that way.
Still, deciding not to talk to the man would slightly hinder that goal. Even so, Xain was determined. He took a step back and gestured towards the cup. Hey, it's yours, he conveyed through his movements. He was still watching the male, wanting to see how he would react.
The boy took a step back and gestured to the cup. Aleister looked at the cup then at the boy and sighed. Despite the audible sigh, there was still a smile on his face. Really, even he couldn't remember the last time he didn't smile while he was awake. He picked up the cup and threw it away properly. He dusted his hands and placed them back in his lab coat pocket.
"Not sure why you couldn't do two seconds of community service, you were closer after all." Aleister shrugged his shoulders. "Oh well..." He started to walk off. He might as well get himself another refreshing cup of coffee.
Xain watched as the man went to walk off. He doubted the man would be able to leave without saying something further. Still, he wasn't going to say anything to openly provoke him. He wasn't one to create conflict against humans, but he was willing to participate. After all, if a human was ignorant to try to create a conflict, then he was a blight and needed to be taught a lesson.
With a general flexing of his hands, Xain waited for conflict to arise. He had barely met the man and already wished to punch him. He was even tempted to send the man to the Shadowlands, just to see the look of terror on the poor human's face. While he wouldn't do that, Xain was half tempted to do something of the sort.
As Aleister walked away he turned around to see the other boy flexing his hands. He arched an eyebrow. He turned back to face him. Was the boy about to pick a fight? He technically did what he told him did he not? It was so amusing how people can be so conflict driven wasn't it? Then again those movements...no that must be coincidence. Aleister let out a chuckle.
"You haven't exchanged a single word with me. I guess actions really do speak louder than words. Though I wouldn't recommend that for your hands." Aleister dug through his pocket. "You know why don't you try a latte? It can calm the nerves, keep you awake on those long work hours. It'll be a blast. Of course I am of no luxury in treating you but still my invitation is open."
Xain looked at the man. It seemed that it had finally dawned on the human that Xain didn't speak. It had took the human long enough. Still, the man was making an offer. Sadly, the offer was food-related, which Xain would have to decline.
Taking out his pen and pad, Xain quickly started to write. When he was finished, he showed the human what it said. The writing said, "No thank you, but I appreciate the offer. Besides, I do not sleep often." Xain watched the male with a slight curiosity. He was wondering exactly how this male would react to the writing.
Instead of responding to his words, interestingly enough, the individual before him took out a pen and a notepad. Was he legitimately mute? That's a shame. That means Aleister now has to actively look at him whenever he had to communicate instead of taking the lazy route and just listening to what he had to say. He read the words that were written.
"No thank you, but I appreciate the offer. Besides, I do not sleep often."
"I see...well...I can't recommend any voice programs that don't give you an annoying monotone voice so sorry." Aleister turned around, no longer interested in what the person had to say or write.
Xain could see that the conversation was over already. No matter, the android was not going to pursue it. The man was overly irritating, and the robot had only known him for a few minutes at most. Content with how things seemed to already be coming to a close, Xain walked over to a nearby bench and sat down.
He continued to keep an eye on the man though. Something about the male put Xain on edge, almost as if he had seen him before. He quickly put those thoughts out of mind, as the male would have to be a scientist in order for Xain to know him. Still, something was off...
