Name: #008 Brynhild
Age: 6
Date of Birth: August 21
Birthplace: Denmark
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Demisexual
Face Claim: Alice Liddell of Alice: Madness Returns
Appearance:
Height: 5' 10"
Distinguishing Features: Small gaps along her shoulder and hip joints. A right arm that is noticeably lighter than the rest of her body.
Class: Anti-Shadow Weapon
Arcana: Hunger
Occupation: Perfectly ordinary amusement park ride attendant
Weapons and Proficiencies (Optional): A twelve foot long spear that can easily be wielded with both hands or just one. It always deals pierce damage.
Personality: The robotic girl attempts to keep her personal and professional lives as separate as possible. Any casual friends are only shown a handful of positive emotions. Until there's a reason to hate somebody, everyone is treated with the same level of respect. She tries to be as honest as possible, mostly due to being a terrible liar.
The goal is to get along and not stand out at all. This involves holding back any extreme emotions. Instead of having a temperamental outbursts she tries to retreat inward and shut out the world. Telling herself (verbally) to calm down and breathe tends to prevent any impulsive reactions. Or she'll get distracted what the problem was. Occasionally Brynhild waits to see how others respond and mimics accordingly. She knows there's going to be experiences that she has no idea how to handle, and is worried about messing up and having an inappropriate reaction.
The easiest way to see her less reserved side, is to involve Shadows. During combat situations she's too focused on doing her job to care about what other people think. The instinct to subdue emotions is ignored, letting out a more aggressive personality. One more arrogant and harsh, yelling at anything that gets between her and Shadow-killing.
It's not that she stops trusting people or actually hates them. Brynhild is extremely loyal to friends/co-workers. When her partner says they can do something, she tends to believes them. Under normal circumstances there wouldn't be any problem with letting her partner help. She just takes the job of being a weapon designed to protect humans from monsters too seriously. Everyone else is supposed to stay as far away from Shadows as possible. Got a Persona? Doesn't matter. Humans are squishy and have too many body parts that can't be perfectly rebuilt from scratch.

History: Brynhild always took her time to do things properly. Even when working under a deadline she'd take up as much space as necessary, not moving on to the next part until everything before that was finished. Her personality, similarly, seemed to focus on one emotion individually. Progress was made incrementally during the breaks between combat sessions.
In the beginning, the idea of having free time bothered her. The Anti-Shadow Unit enjoyed training more than anything. A hobby would never be as fun or practical, so why bother? She sat around doing nothing, barely even talking to the others nearby.
One of the males slowly talked Brynhild out of being alone and in to joining his group. The guy, #019, had been studying with two others, hoping to learn as much as possible. Yes, a ton of information had been given to them through the memories of their ancestors, but this was different. This was an effort to know more about world events. They were all stuck inside with little idea what the rest of the country was like, let alone the entire planet. Regular humans had at least some idea what was going on in other places, so why shouldn't the fake ones? It wasn't long before she became immersed in the worlds outside of the laboratory. The people and places in these stories were so different from anything she had experienced firsthand; it became hard to believe that everything wasn't a fairy tale.
The more her knowledge expanded, the worse Brynhild did at target practice. It was difficult to explain the problem, as nothing like this had ever happened to her. None of her systems were malfunctioning. Physically she could still shoot properly, she just didn't want to. Herimaginary heart wasn't in it now. Guns were so boring and emotionless and stupid. They got the job done, but her interests were more historical. The weapons used during pre-modern warfare (especially the medieval era) felt more personal. More alive. The necessity of being physically near something trying to kill you seemed more noble.
Actually convincing her handlers to allow the weapon switch ended up being easier than expected. They were on board with anything that increased performance. She tried out several prototypes before settling on spears.
The number of training session had been increasing as she matured. The girl hadn't really noticed until they had abruptly stopped. No explanation was given. The girl was concerned that something must have gone wrong—that she must have failed some unknown test. A few days passed, which helped her realize that if they wanted to get rid of her it would have happened by now.
Content enough to await further instruction, Brynhild went back to reading. Eventually the scientists monitoring her apologized for the wait and sent her directly to the final exam. They had called it something else tried to play this off as another routine drill, but couldn't believe that. After all, today's enemies were shadows. Even counting the vague half memories of an past lives, she had only encountered them a handful of times. Compared to the hundreds of matches against her siblings, this had to be special.
No matter the outcome this most likely wasn't the end of the line, but pretending this was a live or die situation helped her concentrate.
Two vaguely hand shaped blobs rose out of the ground. The android tightened her grip on the spear and held prepared to defend, as usual. Both shadows coordinated their attacks well, which limited any potential counterattacks. Brynhild played out the rest of the battle in her mind, realizing that this current strategy was ineffective. At this rate, she'd lose. Right now protecting herself should not be the priority. As long as the shadows got eliminated, nothing else mattered.
Ignoring any pain, forgetting that anyone was watching. she let loose on the closest enemy. From this point, the rest of the battle became an incomprehensible blur. The scientists were excited, as she had managed to summon a Persona that even mimicked her actions halfway through. She felt happy for them, but was too busy wondering why her right arm was missing to pay that much attention.
Repairs obviously needed to be made, so she got put on standby. The next thing she knew the organization was sending her and a bunch of persona users to a city in China. Shadows were trying to do something that didn't matter since they'd be too busy getting killed to accomplish anything.
