Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

The girl that chewed her out... Oh, that would be Ran... of course... "She's... I'm working with her, I guess. Ran. That's just the way she is, I suppose. The both of us, though, we've been working at this a fair bit longer than everyone else, though, so she doesn't mean to put you down I guess..." I sighed and fidgeted, recalling the things she said to me back when I was still a civilian. "Don't worry about it and don't let it get to you. As for the girl dressed in the tattered maid outfit... Eh, don't worry about that one either. You were probably just imagining it." I think that eventually more and more fellow users are going to find out about the ASWs, the Anti-Shadow Weapons... and I know for a fact Pyxis wasn't the only one. I recall meeting one before her; but he seemed to have literally disappeared.
I had an agreement with Pyxis that I would keep everything about ASWs confidential, so I would not talk about it with Phoebe either. I would break my agreement otherwise. "Yeah... don't worry about these things."

"Oh, so she's called Ran," Phoebe said a little blankly but then nodded. Yes, that sounded like the right person.
Indeed, she was probably making too big a deal out of her attitude. After all, Ran didn't know her and indeed, Phoebe hadn't been doing this for that long. Probably be for better to just shut up and plug on. "You're right, I probably worry too much."
But she stared sheepishly when Alisa told her she was imagining things about the strange girl in maid uniform. Phoebe actually... realized that Alisa was evading the issue. For a moment she felt a little hurt but then she decided there was no reason to be hurt. After all, Alisa probably just didn't feel that it was a good idea to give her more to worry about. Phoebe smiled at her stiffly. Well, she cared.
"Alright, if you think so," she sighed.
She glanced up at the clock hanging on the wall. "Ah, and that's my break done. Thanks a lot for the talk, again. I'll see you around. Call me if you need anything. If you want some coffee or something, tell Kyle," she said. "He'll be happy to serve you," she added with a snicker.
She got up and dusted down her apron then headed deeper into the bookstore, approaching two young girls who were looking through some classic books, to help them with what they needed.
"Better to write for yourself and have no public than to write for the public and have no self."

Sorry, Phoebe. You probably think I'm hiding something from you, but it's for everybody's sake. Also, I'm sworn not to tell a soul about it. I'm not that stupid. I'm still a professional at heart. "If it makes you feel better, I can tell you think I'm hiding something. But it's work-related. I have to be professional about these things, so don't worry about it. Trade secrets and all that." I simply said. Soon, Phoebe mentioned her break was over and told me that if I needed anything I could just ask Kyle about it.
"Well, it was nice to see you and chat with you as well. You go and take care of yourself..." I sighed as Phoebe got up and went off to do her work and stuff. Meanwhile, I just stood up and left. There was nothing else for me to do here now.
