Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Holly pondered its answer for a moment. It was still trying way too hard to sound cool, but she could at least understand it this time. Basically, it was just a long-winded way of saying that it was just repressed emotions, not that she blamed it for, or even minded the long-windedness. This might explain why shadows always seemed to resemble human-like things, but they were obviously different from the more intelligent shadows. She didn't expect him to know much about the others. That would be like expecting her to know about every human out there. It did explain why it said that shadows were born from humans as well. At the time she was picturing humans pooping out shadows like they did babies, but this answered that query pretty well as well. Most importantly, it answered the question that had been bothering her for some time: what the hell was she fighting anyway? Admittedly, the idea of murdering bad thoughts and insecurities didn't sound quite so bad.
Holly continued looking directly into the shadow's eyes, not even looking away to think. With her agility maxed, it was time to move onto a new buff since it was still being a good little shadow and answering her questions. This time, she was enveloped in an orange glow, increasing her attack power.
"Okay, so why was the murder necessary? What would have happened if you didn't kill him?"
"Two beings cannot embody one host. From what I understand, I'm everything he couldn't handle showing to the world and the more he repressed it, the stronger I grew. The stronger I become, the weaker He gets. I'm unsure if the same stands for the rest but he was weakening. His body was failing him, and the constant pain was enough to have him blackout in the middle of fighting the other shadows."
He shook his head, the only other action he's done aside from bracing himself from what was going to happen next.
"Killing him may not have been the smartest action, but I grew tired of my human suffering for something so worthless. He understood that it was useless, yet he kept pushing for something that didn't matter, wouldn't matter in the end. Had I not killed him, the blight would have continued, rendering him far more weakened and in a constant position of suffering. Could you see him bed ridden? Unable to do anything, completely depending on everyone else? It wasn't a life he would have wanted to live--as someone understood a fraction of who he was, then you should know!"

Holly continued staring at the shadow for a moment longer, before closing her eyes and chuckling. At least, it started as a chuckle, but after a moment it just turned into a haughty laugh, though not a very loud one. A grin returned to her face, though it looked different from her usual one. Her anger was obvious.
"Are you actually trying to bargain with me? That's adorable. You knew what was coming the whole time didn't you? And here I thought I did a reasonable job of making it look like you'd actually have a shot at getting out of here alive," she shrugged. "Well, between your actual answers, cryptic answers and ever-so-wonderful taunts, I think I've pieced together all the information I wanted anyway. So, I'll ask one final question. Is there anything else I should know? I mean, the longer you keep talking the longer I don't stab you, so it's in your best interest to come up with something right?"
With that, she sliced through her card once again and cast another empowering spell on her. This maxed out her attack power, so she considered herself ready for battle at this point. On the off chance he did manage to hit her she would just be able to heal it all away after all, so the defensive buffs weren't as important.

"Ah, ahah, ahshit. Humour, that was a thing. All this shit made me forgot about that. Try not to get ahead of yourself."
Vice snorted, chuckled, and then laughed. At least for a bit. Then all of that positivity just drained away from him to be replaced with a rather melancholic expression. He doubted he'd be getting out of here alive if he stayed any longer. Right now, he doubted even the passives would be working properly. An expression, of course, but nonetheless it was just an estimation with how small his energy was now.
"Anything else to say? He would've wanted you to know that you were the best partner he could have asked for. And the keys are inside a small compartment behind the left side of the garage in Red Sun Heights."
A step backwards, and the ripples of the black pool began to start once more. Another, and another, and the shadow was beginning to literally float away from his opponent. Was he running away? Yes. Did he gain anything from this fight? He doubted it.

More taunting. Holly already understood that he failed him completely, as much as she understood that she was the best damn supporter around. It was such an ironic thing considering what happened in the end. But as before, she was not going to let it get to her. That would only give some smug satisfaction to the shadow. Instead, Holly continued staring at him as he spoke, but then she noticed he was starting to take a step back before it turned into a full on retreat.
"Do you think I'll just let you get away?"
She charged towards the pool, but by the time she even got to the edge of it the shadow had disappeared into the darkness of the cave. For something that was covered in hexes it was rather fast. Holly looked down, a dark expression covering her face once more, before throwing several knives into the darkness in the hopes that at least a few of them would stick. That at least she would make this god damn monster BLEED. Her breath was heavy as she stood there after her assault. Eventually, she took a deep breath, sighed and turned around. She put her hands in her pockets and continued standing there, staring at the light at the exit of the tunnel.
"You know, I always thought you understood where true power came from with all the work you did with the newer users. You were doing even more than me in that regard. See, power comes primarily from your connections, not what you can do yourself. Humans are pretty useless on their own compared to what they can do together, so their power increases dramatically when bonds are forged. You hid it all pretty well, I'm ashamed that I was so blind to it all the same. I'll tell the others and we'll destroy the creature desecrating your body. It won't stand a chance, I promise."
With that, she slowly started making her way to the exit of the cave, not looking back for even a second. She didn't even remove her hands from her pockets, and as she reached the end her melancholy expression changed into a small grin. No matter how sad she felt about this, she couldn't let it get to her. It was useless, and on the walk over there she was finally realizing exactly how much the sudden shock had made her lose her cool.
