Name: Tatsuma Kirihara (calling him Tatsu is okay, but he bites for „Tatchan”)
Age: Twenty-one
Date of Birth: 13th August
Birthplace: Kyoto, Japan
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual and bicurious
Face Claim: Original art (made by me)
Appearance:
Tatsuma is a completely healthy guy with a normal body-shape. His physique is ordinary, but he is fit, which obviously shows – it was well worth being in the sport clubs after classes in school. He isn't all fanatic about it but since he likes to jog or skate, he possesses a fit body - and the fact he tends to get into fights on the streets also helps with keeping his body in shape, if not completely healthy. His looks are mostly that of an ordinary Japanese student's, but he likes to be unique, so he tried his best to dye his dark bangs white on the right side of his face. He cuts it just enough not to hinder him in life and leaves it slightly messy all the time. His eyes are almond shaped, quite ordinary for the people of his nation, but instead of the usual color it is more like a really dark blue that is often mistaken for simple black. As a bad decision in his life, he got a tattoo under his left eye. He learned to mostly cover it up with make up for school, so he can look a little more presentable when he needs to.
His priority in clothing is always the comfortable and simple kind, but he likes to spice it up with accessories. Bracelets, wristbands, chains, necklaces, metal claws, belts, you name it. The only accessory he won’t wear are earrings, weirdly enough. He gets enough trouble on his neck even without attracting it with looks, but for some reason the delinquent in him just won’t let him leave his wristbands and claws behind.. He likes to wear dark or natural colors as well as one of his favorite jackets colored black, white and brown. Those colors are quite common in his wardrobe, paired with dark red and blue T-shirts. He dislikes formal wear because they are uncomfortable to move in and they would just hinder him during the days, but whenever he occasionally have to wear a suit he would probably do so without a necktie - or at least with a loosely tied one.
Height: 6 feet 1 inch (185 cm)
Distinguishing Features: Just to make himself stand out more than he should, he dies the right side of his bangs white (which is a hassle with his dark hair). On top of that, it was a bad decision to get a tattoo under his left eye as well.
Class: Persona-user
Arcana: Sun
Occupation: University student, but he works part-time at a bar
Weapons and Proficiencies (Optional): Hand-to-hand combat (Strike), and some really minor sword skills due to family tradition, but he still needs to learn it to actually be able to use it. And he can recite shinto and buddhist sutras from heart but not like that can help him in any way.
Personality:
At a first glance, Tatsuma can appear as a really rude fellow who makes mean jokes and is too direct, while purposefully ignoring personal space. He is actually quite friendly, easily walks up to others to initiate a conversation but he is someone who will gladly tease others with a straight face, his strong and sometimes forceful personality can come off as intimidating for the shier ones. He is a bit arrogant, or more precisely prideful and thinks he has to defend himself when he is insulted, almost always getting himself into more problems than what he originally started with. He is capricious and will do whatever the hell he wants so dealing with him is enough for a headache.
He has beliefs practically set in stone, and he would always do what he thinks is right. He has a good understanding of others' personalities and strengths, and he can understand if their beliefs differ from his, but accepting it is an entirely different matter. It would take him much time and thinking to actually accept those going against his own moral code, but he is willing enough to try (it is a different question whether he succeeds or not). The same goes for understanding certain emotions. People have to beat into his thick head that they are friends and he is important to them or he won’t ever notice such a thing. He will assume everyone is a friendly acquaintance who won’t want to concern themselves with his matters. That’s the easiest way for him to live. That sounds like a contradiction, seeing how direct and friendly he is, but he has a certain wall that won’t let anyone get closer to him. If he feels his walls crumble, his natural reaction is to run away.
His family describes him as an 'energy-ball', and that could not explain it nicely enough. He can not be shut (or shot) down when others want to have some peace, he just has to do something or he will go crazy. Pretty literally. If he can not go outside a room or house for too much time or has nothing to do in said place, he will start to rearrange the ornaments and furniture. Every hour.
His hyperactivity and direct attitude also shows in his brave, or more likely reckless personality, and he often rushes into situations head on, especially if it concerns his friends (friendly acquaintances) or family. And so, he might be considered a troublemaker, but he actually can tone this trait of his down with some serious will-power. He always has an idea or two to solve a situation and come out of it with the fewest possible loss (none, if he can help it). Being a trouble maker he needed this capability more times than he could possibly count it, and presented his gratitude to Mother Nature for letting him be born like that (also despising her for slightly different reasons on other fields, but that was not the question here). The Devil's luck is exactly what he has.
He fears that he will hurt someone dear to him or his reckless behavior will cause only problems, but he keeps these thoughts to himself and never shows it to others. That would just make it worse, but while trying to appear strong he is afraid of loss and loneliness. He is mostly aware of his own abilities and knows his limits, but never the less, tries to push it as much as he can. He often ends up doubting himself and closing up when an emotional problem within himself occurs. He will keep every problem inside and when the pressure is too high for him to take anymore, it is others' responsibility to get him out of whatever reckless situation he pushed himself into.

Running or skating around the city, being around a small number of people, laying on the rooftop of school or on a tree, simple colors, brownies (can be bribed with anything chocolate-y), annoying people (he has a talent for that), adrenaline-rush.
Dislikes:
Inaccurate weather forecast, rainy days, strong noise (especially screeching sounds), his secrets being found out, being cornered, depressed and too dramatic people, bullying, being misunderstood (though he can't help it), small and closed up places, not remembering important things, medical needles.
History:
Tatsuma was born into a big and traditional family. His father was the owner of a Shinto shrine, his mother the priestess, so guess what he would have been supposed to do when he grew up? However, it was obvious quite early that being a priest in a temple wouldn’t quite fit the boy, as he was more into playing with the neighbors’ children and just generally being anywhere but home. He had one older sister and two younger siblings, who were, however, more likely to inherit the temple from his parents, though they would have still preferred if Tatsuma were to be the head priest.
Well, hell no.
That was anything BUT what he wanted, sitting there and chanting sutras, swiping the temple grounds and offering charms for the love-deprived teenage girls. Though he was educated from a young age for when he finally takes on the role from his father, the only thing that actually brought him were the mantras and the sutras that he still remembers and can recite even after years.
Though he wasn’t really forced to do anything, he went through a tough rebellious phase – that started early and kept on going for long. One might wonder if it stopped at all. For him, the best way to rebel was to join one of the gangs in the city. Worst choice ever? Maybe, but his years in the gang taught him certain things, like street-fighting or roller-skating... or taking care of himself in general, since sure as hell no one looked out for him while he was in the gang. He got into many fights and were beaten a lot, but the stubborn little bastard he was, he still went back for more in hopes that he would actually win one time against others. He got that hateful “Tatchan” nickname back then, and he will still bite whoever calls him that.
Eventually, he kinda lucked out in a fight against another gang and were completely accepted into the group. Slowly but steadily he got stronger, and climbed up the ranking, getting more stronger physically and mentally, and eventually he had gained a certain reputation that many of the other envied. However, something happened that changed everything and caused him to leave the gang.
He got bored.
It took him only that to want to go and only do his own business, but needless to say some of the fellow members didn’t want to accept it. People seeking him out were common, and he rather decided to live alone as soon as he was at the age of eighteen – before that he just made sure no one got near his family’s temple, so all his siblings and parents were safe.
He wasn’t a stupid kid, he just didn’t like school in general, and so his grades were always average, except in the last year of high-school, when he actually studied for his entrance exams to university – and got into social studies in the university of Mosaic City. He wanted to go to a school far away from his family. He didn’t hate his parents, he didn’t hate his siblings, but the expectations were always there, even if no one said anything anymore. They all wished he would inherit the shrine, and he knew he wouldn’t be able to do it. So the best way, according to him, was to get away for a while. And he thought moving to a far away university would be the best for everyone.
So he ended up in a university of Mosaic City by chance. It was offering the courses he wanted, and he could actually get in with his slightly above average marks, so it was a convenient escape. He moved to a small apartment and got a part time job to support himself before he could get scholarship (which was only a dream at that point). He refused to accept help from his family. It was a little hard, but he managed to get by, he even had a little free time to get into trouble with the local gangs, but that was just like him.
He was already living there for a year, when things started to get... strange. He couldn’t really explain, but somehow, people seemed more edgy, and it just didn’t seem right. Not long after, the local military came into the city and created a blockade, preventing people from getting out of the city for their own safety. They had some excuses. Tatsuma called bullshit. He was trying to get in contact with his family back in Kyoto, but his phone seemed to be malfunctioning, and he didn’t know the e-mail address of any of his siblings. Really, he could even imagine they didn’t have any. Without wasting much time, he asked for a leave from university and reserved plane tickets for the way back home, but travel outside the city was prevented. He felt trapped. And when he feels trapped, he will go crazy.
With a single back pack and a good amount of money on him, he headed toward the outskirts of the city to get to the neighboring town and book a ship to get to Japan. Nearing the outer borders, he kept hearing whispers, and he could swear the color of the sky just changed. Strange creatures were lurking around, and those just made him even more uneasy. They were following him, they wanted to attack him. They wanted to devour him. Something inside of him wanted to devour them. He was confused, he was scared, but most of all, he was angry. The first wave knocked him down, the second injured him, but the third never got to him. A beast was standing right above Tatsuma as a protector, and it slashed and clawed and bit into the blackness of the attackers. He was awed, but he heard the warning whispers. He was still not enough to venture further. Even with the beast, Behemoth, he was nothing, and it infuriated him further. Postponing his plans to get back to Japan he decided to get behind the things happening in Mosaic City and with his newfound power, he felt obliged to protect those that can’t protect themselves.
If someone were to ask him, he would say he had a normal and uneventful life.
Uneventful and boring, indeed.
