Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Half a day after his first time outside in the circle, Tatsuma was back for more. His left arm still hurt a bit from that burn he got, but he didn’t care about it. He figured it was a good idea to head toward the same spot where he fought the other shadow, since he knew what to expect from the enemies in the area. Of course, he could be in for a little surprise, but he just hoped he gets out of it alive this time too.
It was almost night, and the museum was noticeably darker. Tatsuma wasn’t ever bothered by the dark, but it made it harder to notice the sneaking shadows in the corners of the walls. He figured he could depend on his hearing this time again. He still didn’t see the need to search for the shadows. They will eventually come for him and attack even without him drawing attention. He wasn’t sure why they found and targeted them so frequently. Maybe the human heat and flesh was like a magnet for him, but he also suspected it had something to do with the soul. Or the emotions. Just like how his Behemoth was prone to get edgy when Tatsuma himself was restless.
Unlike last time, Tatsuma allowed Behemoth to surface even before the first shadow appeared. The beast was walking beside him on the tile floor of the hallway leading to the exhibitions. The shadows were nearby, and he will offer them to Behemoth for dinner.
((OOC: Eri promised me an ice cream maya for that burn Tatsuma got in the other thread. Ice ice baby.))

Tatsuma was right: he didn’t need to wait long for the shadow to appear. Across the hallway, he could see the opponent approaching slowly, crawling through the rubble on the tiled floor. Behemoth was growling beside him, and Tatsuma didn’t wait for the Shadow to make the first move.
Rushing forward with an excited shout, Behemoth gathered dark energy around itself and released it toward the Maya with a howl that mimicked its human. The energy collided with the shadow, and damaged it visibly, better than it did the shadow a few hours before. Tatsuma found that he had the tendency of starting with the Mudo attack in fights, and he couldn’t explain why. Maybe he thought he could counter darkness with darkness, as that was the element he associated the Shadows with mostly.
But it was the shadow’s turn to attack now, and even though Tatsuma had the head start this time, the enemy didn’t back down. It would have been no fun any other way. The shadow moved close a moment later, and was charging right toward Tatsuma with an Assault Dive. It hit him right in the guts and had him stumble backward. That was certainly an attack that knocked the air out of him, but he could stand it. At least it wasn’t as bad as the attack of the other shadow he met. If it was its strongest trick, then he will be okay. He will be the victor again.
With a devious grin, he ordered his other self without words to attack. Behemoth jumped the shadow with claws ready to slash its body, the black ooze sticking to the persona’s paw after. An angry growl and a snarl later Behemoth was attacked by another Assault Dive from the shadow. Even though Tatsuma wasn’t hit directly, he could feel the pain from the attack. Yet again, it knocked the air out of him. He didn’t know he was so deeply connected with the beast, though he should have known better. They were the same. The beast was he himself, so the injuries were shared. Tatsuma grit his teeth, and Behemoth released dark energy toward the enemy again. It was better to stick to darkness, he thought, as that exhausted him less than direct physical attacks. Maybe it was a bad idea to touch the shadows in general, that’s why contact made him more tired.
Cold air seemed to emanate from the shadow as it got more desperate for the flesh of human in front of it. Tatsuma could feel it, and his instincts were shrieking. He could almost hear a warning bell that screamed run, but fell on deaf ears. Tatsuma was not one to run away from a fight especially if he was on good condition. However, the ice-cold magic that hit him was something that didn’t only make him unable to breathe, but it drained so much of his stamina that he fell on his knees. It made him see stars, and he could feel his limbs chill to the bone. What the hell was that?! It was so different than ay of the attacks before! Cold filled his lungs as he took a shuddering breath. The only thing he could do was to concentrate on the shadow, and to eliminate it as fast as possible. Another of this icy attack would do him for good.
Behemoth was ready, frost falling from its pelt as it moved forward and stomped on the shadow to release its Mudo attack head on from a point blank range. The darkness hit the shadow and the familiar shriek of the dying enemy echoed through the halls.
Tatsuma fell to the floor as he heard the sundae evaporate into nothing. "Are you serious?" A freaking ice cream could dish out such attacks and he would slip so easily? At least he knew his weakness now. He was never on good terms with the cold. A bitter laugh burst out of him as he remembered his previous fight. Ice for that burn. He should be careful what he wishes for next time.
