Post by Beatrice Reinard on Apr 20, 2014 16:39:47 GMT -5
Name: Beatrice Vivaldi Reinard; her preferred nickname is Bea, while her codename in organized operations was “Snow”.
Age: Nineteen
Date of Birth: April 13th
Birthplace: England
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual-Panromantic
Face Claim: Illyasviel von Einzbern – Fate/Stay series; Fate/Kaleid Liner
Appearance:
Height: 5'4
Distinguishing Features: Along the right side of her spine is a blotchy birthmark, colored red. It's the only segment of her skin that has a sign of pigment.
Class: Elite Persona-user
Arcana: The Sun
Occupation: Explorer. Also Devil-buster.
Weapons and Proficiencies:
Primary Proficiency: Halberd – Level 5 Slash Weapon
Secondary Proficiency: Pike attachment – Level 4 Pierce Weapon
Personality:
In the past, Bea had been a withdrawn, socially inept, and exceedingly shy girl. This, ultimately, was an extension of her father's over-protectiveness, and it likely would have gone on indefinitely, if not for the way events played out. Now? Now, things are a little bit different. At the root, Beatrice is a proud being. That's not to say that she's full of herself, cocky, or anything like that- and it has nothing to do with her family's name. The girl is proud because the power she currently wields is entirely her own. It wasn't something handed down to her or spoon-fed to her- it was something she worked for and attained on her own. She prefers to build her own merits, as opposed to inheriting them from those that came before her.
Naturally, she respects those that do the same, or at least try to do the same. She doesn't respect blue-blood kids, like herself, if they only develop an ego because of their birthright. You want to impress her? Build your own fortune. The strong don't mindlessly follow some guideline, they forge their strength and proceed through whatever flames they have to. Such it the way of the strong. Of course, that said, she's not going to disrespect the average Joe for reasons like that. Heck, she's really tolerant of most types of people. So long as those particular types don't try to act like they're all that, she's pretty much fine with them. If they do try, though? Well, the pretty face can turn pretty scary pretty quick.
In the past, the girl crafted her image of the ideal human, referencing a number of stories, myths, and religious documents. Utilizing logic, she tried to iron out her ideal. At the present, she's gone beyond that. Still analytical, still logical, the girl thinks on each matter presented to her, but ultimately goes with her instincts. She's fair, she believes. She's honest, as well. However, she refuses to hold back on others, regardless of what the situation may be. She can be embarrassing. She can be merciless. She can be an outright terror, in the right circumstances. Once she's decided something, or classified someone, she's pretty hard-headed and refuses to change her mind unless something pretty extreme pops up.
Despite all of that, she has a certain childish charm. Despite her age, her experiences, and all the people she's been around, there's a certain quality that has refused to be snuffed out. Call it innocence, call it purity, call it good will. Whatever it is, it has yet to go out, and she still has high hopes for humanity. She faces the darkest manifestations of humanity's psyche as a job, and, despite that, she still believes that there's hope for humans.

History:
Beatrice was the singular child between an entrepreneur that built himself up from nothing and a dancer with a bad constitution. The two were deeply in love, but, as Beatrice was born, the mother died. Despite complications during the birth, Bea was a very healthy baby. She did have albinism, yes, but no other conditions could be noticed. Her father, despite being heartbroken, kept himself together and played the role of a father properly. Perhaps too well, considering how protective of the girl he ended up being.
Her father was a busy man. He built a fortune with his own hands, buying into certain things, then buying small companies. The largest company under his control dealt with technology and recording software, mostly regulated to security implementations. Because of all that, and the combination of necessary travel with over-protectiveness, even though Bea had several body guards, she found herself traveling with her father everywhere. She always had people around her- guards, tutors, servants- but she found herself in extreme want of real company once she understood where the status quo was.
Neither allowed to go to school, nor allowed to wander about without an entourage, Bea learned from a young age that she had to stand her ground to get something she wanted. It started off with small things- shrinking the number of guards, increasing the number of outings, and things like that. Eventually, though, it came to her demanding a chance to adopt who would later be known as Marvin Alriamachy Reinard. Her father didn't want her interacting with a wild dog- only the trained ones that he could acquire for her. The arguments went on for well over a day. In the end, Bea did, in fact, prevail, adn Marvin was brought into the Reinard family.
Of course, he was still wild, which led to some rocky exchanges in the beginning. Including his trying to bite the girl's hand.
That was when she was eight. In the following years, a good chunk of her recreational reading regulated to information regarding the world and its sights. She decided she would go on an adventure of her own. Two arguments, three failed attempts at running away, and a pseudo-battle later, both sides had almost reached a compromise. That was when something extraordinarily bad occurred. That was when, in one of their facilities, something went. . . awry. Employees began to go berserk. In the chaos, one being existed that was above the rage and confusion. It was a demon. It enraged and it poisoned those around it. Beatrice's father was cursed with the demon's poison. Beatrice, however, awakened to her Persona at the time and fought the demon away. That was when things began to turn around for her.
Now, the demon in question's poison was severe. It could be stopped, keeping the victim alive and “healthy”, but it required regular doses to fight back. The only real “cure” would have been killing the demon to break the curse. Until then, the poison would remain in the victim's system. That said, doses of the medicine in question were fairly expensive. The Reinard's had plenty of money, sure, but those kind of expenses, constantly popping up, were a bit excessive. It was an evil that the man, who had worked his way up from nothing, knew better than to delve into.
And that was where Beatrice stepped up to the plate, dictating her own terms after the girl and her father were addressed by the organization. Demons were easy to notice in the grander scale, whenever they raised that kind of ruckus. They let their interest in the girl be known. She let her intents be known, much to the chagrin of her father. “Agents”, or anybody that was hired for the purpose of going right out into the field, were paid handsomely. It wasn't too difficult to arrange for a deal. The girl had no need of excessive pay. Instead, it was traded for regular doses of the medicine in question for her father. It wasn't a purely selfless act, though. In fact, that was actually more the icing on the cake than anything.
See, Bea just wanted the freedom to go on her adventure, and that was her chance.
And what an adventure it has been. The girl's bizarre adventure led to many lands. She was teamed up with odd people and stranger machines. She forged friendships and rivalries. She became strong. She gained the respect and trust of others, getting promotions here and there. She hunted Shadows and Demons alike. No luck finding the exact Demon she needed, but her father was stable, so it was fine either way, she believed. Then the more recent, optional, assignment came up to warp on into and clean out the problem center, Mosaic City. Now, a pocket-world thing was not something that Bea was too familiar with. Sure, dimensional alteration, on an exceedingly small scale, with demons was something of a norm, but something encompassing a full city?
That was just interesting.
So, long after the city had been cut off from the world, and after numerous other resources had been tossed into the cut-off city, Beatrice finally made her debut in Mosaic. The young warrior had plenty she wanted to do. See the sights, win some fights, and bring the lights. Despite volunteering and hopping right on into what was potentially a deathtrap, she was content.
After all, it was just the sort of thing an adventure needed, right?
