Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

What a dreary place. The fog was even more irritatingly thick at the bottom of the massive pit, and very little light managed to penetrate down here. It was a miracle that Anna wasn't walking around in completely darkness. She'd be inclined to plant a few flowers to "brighten" up the place, but there was no way they would grow here. At least she was likely to get some decent fights out of it, though. The shadows she'd taken on when she landed were pretty strong. Hopefully any more she found would match up.
Otherwise this would have ended up being a wasted trip.

Looks like there were Mayas lurking around this time. And three of them, too! Great odds! Anna summoned the massive winged form of Thunderbird behind her as they appeared, causing one of the three blob-like shadows to squeak nervously. The other two's actions suggest that they weren't particularly happy about Anna's presence, but while one was swinging a blobby fist in her direction, the other was just kind of grumpy. The angry one seemed like a good first target. But first, a welcoming gift for all three of them. Thunderbird shrieked, and a wave of energy fell over all three shadows, weakening their defenses. Each of them tried to retaliate with what Anna recognized as affliction-based skills, but all failed. Anna then directed Thunderbird to take off. In doing so, it generated bolts of electricity in the clouds gathering around its body, which struck all three shadows. It failed to hit any weaknesses, but with their reduced defense it still did decent damage. Each of the shadows retaliated with status skills, and this time only the angriest shadow managed to hit Anna.
"Aw, you done messed up now," Anna said, grinning. That was right, she smiled even when she was completely pissed off. In a fluid motion, she swung her umbrella shotgun off of her shoulder, took aim, and unloaded a shell of buckshot into the shadow. It attempted to retaliate with a blast of fire, which hurt a freaking lot, but that didn't deter Anna as she squeezed the trigger again, finishing the shadow off.
"Who's next?" she asked, loading up another couple of shells. The scared-looking shadow edged away doing something to allow it to move faster. But that was enough for Anna. "Ah ah ah, ain't no running away from me now," she said, firing on the terrified shadow. Its enhanced speed wasn't enough to avoid Anna's shots, but it made a valiant effort to avoid her anyway, enhancing its speed a second time. Anna just kept shooting, though, finishing it off as well.
As she reloaded for the last two shots. Anna felt the air around her freeze as she was hit by another attack. She fired on the third shadow as well, unaware for the moment of the fact that she was actually seriously hurt. But this shadow managed to avoid her. That, at least, seemed to pull Anna out of her frenzy. "Aww, and I was having fun, too," she said. She started to feel the pain that she had been blocking out before, and nearly collapsed from its sudden return. Ow. "Well, guess I can't mess around anymore. Time to finish you off. Here goes!" Thunderbird let out another shriek as it started charging up, building up what seemed to be a miniature, localized hurricane around its body. The shadow again hit Anna with ice, but now that she was back in possession of her faculties, she was able to withstand it without too much trouble. She was still going to have to take a break after this bout, though.
And then, Thunderbird unleashed it. The most devastating attack that Anna had, tearing apart the remaining Maya with a massive windstorm.
Well, that had been interesting to say the least. Anna had taken a lot of damage from that fight. Actually, she had kind of lost it for a moment there, and just started shooting up the place. Were it not for the fact that she was prone to doing things like that anyway, she would have been a lot more concerned. But no, this was mostly normal. Enemy-induced, but still normal enough that she could roll with it.
Still, because of all that, she was going to need to take a rest before continuing her little rampage. Getting back out was easy enough, at least, so all she had to do was summon Thunderbird, fly out, and find a good place to stop and rest before continuing.
