Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
Stereotypically, it made sense for monsters to end up in a place like this. Graveyards always attracted evil spirits of death and destruction. No one disturbed the dead and survived. Anyone who did usually died or had their life ruined. Granted most of these stories were fictitious, but they could have been based on actual Shadow encounters.
Brynhild admittedly did not know much about this area, but it seemed unnecessary. Catacombs were a place to bury dead humans, which made sense on its own, so what made that any different from a graveyard? She just walked through one burial ground to reach this other one. Why were both of these locations right next to each other? If they were farther apart one could justify the redundancy.
More information was necessary to figure this out. As she hunted for monsters, there should be enough time to do research in person. The narrow pathways would make it challenging to swing around her oversized lance without hitting something. Or someone. Now would be a good time to have a secondary weapon to use.
