Name: Trout Monicker
Age: 4 (Leap Years)
Date of Birth: February 29th
Birthplace: Christmas Island
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Face Claim: Battler Ushiromiya (Umineko)
Appearance:
Height: 5'11"
Class: Civilian
Arcana: The Fool
Occupation: Trout is a rather smart four year old who has made his way into high school and is now attending East Mosaic High with a C- average. He is otherwise unemployed.
Weapons and Proficiencies (Optional): Trout used to play little league baseball when he lived on Christmas Island. He has since kept his expertise with a bat. It deals strike damage. Trout is also proficient in wielding candles. Yes, candles. Trout considers these the weapons of his people. They can be flailed around for fire damage.
Personality: Trout acts with superiority over others almost all the time even with friends. He does act differently around convenient store cashiers due to his irrational fear of them. He has grown in fear of them for a long time due to an incident at a convenient store that caused a total of 15 deaths and 8 injured as well part of the store exploding. Since that incident it has left him with an unending fear of convenient stores to the point of where he falls onto the floor and his mind descends into a childlike state whenever one is within visibility of him.
Trout is also a technophobe due to having frequent misfortune when presented with them. Notable examples include electrocution of his fishes from slipping on water and dropping his stereo in his family’s fish tank to shocking himself regularly while plugging electronics into sockets. This also caused him to have a love for outdoors mainly roaming in the woods and walking down trails. He loved the smell of the woods and the nature life which in turn developed his weird fetish for scented candles.
Likes: Outdoors, Scented Candles, Card games (Texas Holdem), Mythology and Legends, Astrology
Dislikes: Long Walks on the Beach, Convenience Stores, Cashiers, Murky Water.
History: Born on a leap year, Trout was conceived on Christmas Island to a fisherman and a waitress. He was an accident but that didn't stop the two of them from doing their best to raise him. Growing up his parents wanted him to have his birthday on the actual day versus doing what the government recommends and having it on February 28th or March 1st. This caused Trout to be legally considered 4 at the current time while technically being in his later teens. Trout wasn't the best student in his class holding a whole C- average in grades. At the age of 3 (14), Trout went to go to the nearby convenient store for a soda like he normally did but today was different. Today was the store's 20th anniversary so they had free giveaways. A lot of people, roughly 30-35, were there getting their free merchandise.
When Trout arrived however he could feel that something was off. While waiting in line to get his soda rung up, two men pulled out guns and held the cashier for money while telling the rest of the people to get on the floor. As the cashier put money in the bag, while crying mind you. The manager of the store came out of his office to check why everything went silent. The thieves saw him and one shot at him but missed. He ran back into his office to call the police when one of the thieves went to the office to get him and broke in. In the midst of the phone call the thief shot him with no remorse. The gunshot rang through the building. The cashier who was covered in tears went silent while the customers screamed. The thief who stayed with the people kept yelling at them to shut up and the other thief came back. What happened next surprised and warped Trout even more?
While no one watched the cashier, he pulled out the company "in case of emergency" hand gun that was put under the counter. Without thinking twice, he shot the first thief in the back of the head. Blood splattered everywhere and some landed on Trout’s cheek while he laid there in horror. The second thief was then shot as well with no mercy. Falling to his knees the cashier began to break down and customers got up to go and check on him. He was beyond help at this point and thought others were going to hurt him as well. He shot two people, killing them both instantly. He went to shoot a third person but missed hitting a propane tank and causing not one but many explosions as the chain reaction from the first canister to the next causing a massive explosion. 15 people died and 8 injured, among the injured was Trout. To this day at the age of 4 he still sees that cashiers panicked fearful look and the people dropping from the gunshots. This psychological trauma causes Trout to experience that incident in his head whenever he is within a good enough distance of a visible convenient store. His parents did the best that they could to console him and help him but to no avail. When his parents were able to afford it, they brought him to a therapist who helped him to cope with the issue a little but not much. He didn't think about the tragic event but in turn also became more scatter brained by keeping his mind off of it.
This scatter brained effect also ended up causing Trout to develop technophobia because of the misfortune he had with technology by not paying attention. He ended up killing his fish, frequently shocked himself with electrical sockets, and even made a laptop burst into flames. He didn't want to deal with that anymore. To keep himself safe and busy, he turned to the outdoors. Trout walked through the woods and kept walking to his heart’s content. He loved the sites he saw and the smells in the air. He loved the scents enough to try and find scented candles of them. He never found them but enjoyed the scented candles and developed an odd fetish for them.
Trout’s parents had decided for a while that they wanted to move since the incident at the store and they finally saved enough money for it. They wanted to go to China, specifically Mosaic City, as there was opportunities for better work for them while also getting away from the tragic site there and they had heard many great feats of this place. They packed their belongings, sold their small single story house and moved into a modern, two story house fully furnished. This wasn't cheap however but Trout’s parents already knew that and were ready to accept the price. They each acquired a job before they moved but the prices here were higher so they work every day of the week and roughly 12 hours each so that they won’t have to worry.
Roughly a month after they move there, the government sets up a blockade due to some type of radiation leak. Trout didn't trust in it because they just showed up out of nowhere with and didn't try to do anything else besides a barrier. Most of the people seemed oddly okay with it and life continued but Trout desperately tried to find out what truly is going on, driven by being held in the city, not being allowed to go and explore the outside like he did at his old house.
