Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
Sadly, there was not much of interest in the cave. Anna found a couple things that she could bring back for salvage, but they had probably just been left there by other explorers. Nothing to suggest that the cave was anything other than an ordinary cave that had always been there, just...buried. Not even a mysterious portal or anything like that. Oh well. With that mystery disappointingly solved, Anna started on her way back. Hopefully along the way, there would still be more shadows to beat up and hopefully have a bit more fun with than the last set. After that...she'd probably go and check out the giant castle Alisa mentioned.
The moment Anna sensed more shadows approaching, she sent out a wave of energy to weaken their defenses. But when they actually showed up, she could only see and hear one of them: a very noisy Maya type that was blocking the way out of the tunnel. It started charging up an attack, but Anna cut it off with one of her own, hitting it with a devastating gust of wind that flung it out into the open basin of the sinkhole. She ran out after it, but noticed two nearby shadow signatures in the process. One set on her as soon as she cleared the tunnel, executing a surprisingly well-planned ambush attack. Anna turned toward the source of the attack, catching sight of the small formless shadow. It blended in with the darkness of the pit almost perfectly, but had given itself away by attacking. Directing Thunderbird into the open air overhead, Anna called down another blast of wind on the sneaky Maya, wiping it out in a single hit.
Less than a second later, a wind attack that wasn't hers hit her from behind. Anna turned, completely unharmed, and smiled at the second stealthy shadow. "Whassa matter?" she asked innocently. "It ain't doing anything?" Another calm smile as she called down a rain of lightning on both shadows. "Whoops, guess that one didn't work out so well for you." The shadow returned fire with a cloud of darkness, but Anna just braced herself and let her armor soak up half of the damage. Then, she called down another series of lightning strikes and turned her attention back to the noisy shadow.
The loud shadow had taken both lightning strikes as well, but wasn't feeling them as much as the one that failed at ambushing. Oh well. It managed to hit here with a very strong needle attack, but failed to put her to sleep with it, promoting Anna to finish it off with another blast of wind.
"Whew...I definitely need a break after this," Anna said, leaning against the stone wall near the mouth of the cave she'd just left. Haaah, this wasn't too bad for a warm-up. It was clear that she was out of practice, but even out of practice she was still a terror to most shadows. Getting back into shape wouldn't take too long at all.
Just then, another blast of darkness hit her. A normal person might have freaked out at the sudden attack right after the fight, but Anna simply shrugged and glanced over at the source. Sure enough, the wannabe stealthy Maya was still alive. "Oh, you're still here? I'd 've thought you'd have run off by now. Oh well." Anna swung her umbrella off her shoulder, pointed the tip at the shadow, and squeezed the trigger hidden underneath. With that, the last shadow finally dissolved.
So much for that. Anna had honestly thought that the shadow would have run away, but no, it still thought itself a master of sneak attacks. So it had to die as well. Oh well. If it had run, Anna might have even let it get away, too. Assuming it could successfully get out before Anna got bored of sitting around, at least. If it didn't, then Anna would have probably just shot it anyway. Or 'accidentally' hit it with wind or lightning as she made her way out. And speaking of which, it was about time to go and do just that. So she climbed onto Thunderbird and let the massive Persona carry her back out.
