Leaving the tombs, the redhead tried her damndest to get her hair under control from the frizz fest it had become from that lightning attack. It seemed these days she spent more of her time being tossed around then actually getting any answers. That assumption wasn’t so far fetched, after all. She hadn’t even met anyone else other than that strange woman who ran the shop that seemed to know anything, and she sure hadn’t said much other than a good ‘howdy doo here’s some cash’. Anne would punt a small child for some info.
Well, right now she’d rather go home and take a hot bath. Info could wait. Her bruises had bruises, and her arm was still pretty burned from the other night. Her left side felt like it had gone through a food processor, between the tank-like shadow the other night and the blobs tossing her around tonight. It hadn’t gotten past her that since Cery came along she seemed to heal a little bit faster, thankfully. On the other hand, since Cery came into her life she had been in far many more life endangering situations than in almost her whole life. In a way it did balance each other out, and besides, she didn’t have to go exploring what was going on.
She didn’t have to, but she sure felt like she needed to. Like she had thought before--as far as she knew, she was one of the only ones who knew something fishy was going on. If she didn’t do some investigating, who would? Even if she was in no real hurry to return to New York, she definitely didn’t want to be stuck in this city for the rest of her life surrounded by creepies. Cery didn’t give any answers, either. Other than the strange answer of what she was, she knew next to nothing. Anne really hated being left in the dark.
Enough thoughts. Right now, home. There was a bag of bath fizzies waiting with her name on it, and her hair was not getting fixed on it’s own out here. Calling it quits she wrangled what she could and wrapped it back up into it’s ponytail. It was still a disaster, but she didn’t expect to run into anyone out here before she got back. Except, maybe, yet another blobbed frick in the middle of her path. Gritting her teeth she scowled at it. “You buggers don’t know when to give up, do you?” Grumbling to herself, she took her usual stance and hesitated for just a moment. Eh, why not? She only summoned her once tonight.
Shifting her weight she held her uninjured hand out towards the maya, inhaling as the sound of shattered glass brought the Cerynitian Hind along with it. Just as quickly as she did, she clenched her fist in it’s direction, the Hind’s eyes glowing blue as Anne spoke. “Bufu! I don’t have time for your crap tonight, I’m singed enough, thanks.” The maya growled loudly as it burst with the ice that surrounded it. Those small fry weren’t too tough, sure, but they had gotten on her nerves enough for one night.
