Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

take the ride--on the long strange trip to paradise♪
There was much, much more to the areas they weren’t supposed to go then Anne first thought. Before Cery, she never really had any cause to think about it. Now it seemed like she spent more time exploring then doing much of anything else. There wasn’t anything tremendously wrong with that, of course. Investigating meant answers, and Anne liked to be prepared. This seemed to be a likely route out of the city, too, so that was a definitive plus. It used to before, after all, and it went underground. The possibility of it going under the barrier was too high for her to ignore.
Along with the possibility of escape was the possibility of being ambushed. Anne didn’t plan on getting hurt tonight, so to keep on her toes the Cerynitian Hind was already at her side, red eyes scowling out from under her mask. Her persona reflected her distaste for the cramped tunnels, the stuffy air and lack of places to escape putting the both of them on edge. As much as Anne wished she could just magically come out of the tunnels on the other side, she knew better. “If wishes were horses, right Cery? I guess we’ll just be lucky if we can do some recon and not leave too exhausted.” Her hands were clenched at her side as she frowned into the shadows of the tunnels. Who knew when, or if, the shades would become animate?

As she expected, she saw a movement ahead in the darkness. Her eyes narrowed, and she could feel the Cerynitian Hind behind her as she pulled her blade from under her cape. It was hard to see in these tunnels, but her eyes had adjusted well enough to see what they were dealing with. Three shapes from what she could see--wait, no, those two were attached together. So did that make it just two, then? Two and a half maybe?
Whatever the scenario, they were in her way. That needed to change. Anne was starting to get tired of leaving these trips of hers with her ass kicked, so this time, she planned on getting the jump. Knees bent, she pushed off, bashing the one-and-a-half with her left elbow to the side, before turning to the small fry. “Heads up, Cery.” Kicking it into the air, she turned into a side punch with her now healed left arm, hurling it into the direction of her waiting persona. “Go ahead and skewer the little guy for me, would you?”
The Hind did as she was told, twirling her golden blade with a quick flourish before stabbing it through the center of the hand. Her red eyes watched it for a moment as it disappeared in a puff of smoke, before turning her skull-clad head. Anne smiled, before she realized she wasn’t done yet. The One-and-a-half had realized this too, and took her momentary distraction to it’s advantage. It seemed to learn from it’s mistakes and tried to stay away from her, it’s four arms raising. The hair on the back of her neck stood straight up, and she turned to take care of the last baddie just in time to get blasted with a huge shard of ice. “Oof! That wasn’t very nice, ya booger.” She felt absolutely chilled to the bone and sluggish, but considering she had been hit full force she was surprised she didn’t hurt more. Glancing for the moment over her shoulder to the Cerynitian Hind, she had a feeling she knew why.
Well, whatever it was, she wasn’t dead even though she may freezing for the rest of the night and bruised in the morning there were things to finish up. Flexing her fists, her attitude was back in place again. “Let’s wrap this up then, now I’ve got ice to dig out of my hair.” Charging the soon to be poofed one-and-a-half, she used their glued together status against them. When you’re attached to someone, it makes it hard to fend off attacks to your face. Before too much longer, and only one thwack away with one of their metal bars, Anne stood in a quickly dispersing cloud of smoke. Not too bad, this time around. She was pretty sure she was finally getting the hang of this.
