Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Since the first time he'd been there, Jonathon liked this place. Compared to other places that shadows tended to dwell, this one was a bit more peaceful. As long as he stayed close to the bottom of the building. Shadows tended to lurk at the higher levels and there was bound to be something at the top. Maybe some kind of super shadow. Still, down here in the lobby, things were pretty safe. There was the occasional creak or a figure in the back ground, but nothing bothered him. He took a seat at a rather comfortable chair that was still there, the wheels still worked and everything. Propping his feet up on the desk he closed his eyes to take a bit of a rest. He kept listening though, just in case something did show up. His sword was next to him as well if a fight broke out.

Coming to the executive building had become something of a habit for Seiji. He'd spent a good deal of time trying to keep the lobby purged of shadows, mostly just coming away with bruises and scars for his efforts. On nights when he was just coming to take in the atmosphere, he seldom even bothered to bring his weapon anymore. Despite how his vision was obscured by the fog, he could still make find the outline of the building, looming over him constantly. When the fog was particularly thick, he'd use it as a guide. Forming a grid in his head, he'd remember the route from the front of the building to the sewer entrance that ran almost directly into the street on which he lived.
Finding the entrance doorways open, Seiji entered the lobby and peered around. Things seemed orderly tonight. Giving a sigh of relief upon realizing that he wouldn't be in for a fight with any shadows tonight, he turned to go sit down in one of the armchairs on the side of the building. It was only then that he stopped mid-track, realizing that he wasn't alone. How had he not noticed this sooner? Turning to face the other person he- wait, person? Without betraying any emotion, he raised a hand and gave the other boy a wave as a form of greeting, not saying anything yet.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Jonathon heard what sounded like a foot step. It didn't sound like a shadow though, most shadows he'd encountered so far didn't have feet. Glancing up he noticed the other boy standing in the door. Picking up his feet and setting them slowly on the floor he grabbed the hilt of his sword and stood up. "Not moving suddenly, ok." Jonathon muttered about the boy. "What the heck are you doing here? It's not safe, didn't you pay attention to the quarantine warnings?" He said, hoping the kid wouldn't realize that he was also a teenager in the abandoned building outside the quarantine zone. Jonathon didn't intend to show his persona, yet though.

Perhaps a proper introduction would have been more appropriate. Initiating conversation wasn't really his strong suit though, sadly enough. When the other teenager warned him to not make any sudden movements, he slowly began to raise his other hand so that they were both in the air and away from anything that could cause his peer harm. At his question though, he began speaking of absurdities while sounding deadly serious. "I'm a member of a crack commando unit here to rescue my wife and two month old daughter."
Beat.
"That was a joke. In poor taste." He allowed for a pause, feeling that most sane people would probably want to react to that. "I could ask you the same question. I doubt there's really a radiation leak here, for what it's worth. You evacuate if there's a leak, you don't leave people in a warded off area. Imagine how many children with seven toes there'd be if they'd done that during the Chernobyl incident." Seiji was unarmed, and it would be easy to notice that if he got closer to him. He doubted things would get ugly since two people duking it out in this place would be counter-productive, but his body was tensed, just in case.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Jonathon was not amused. He slung his sheathed sword over his shoulder and stepped out from behind the desk. "You're sense of humor is a bit...harsh, isn't it? You went straight to some pretty wild extremes." He walked towards the man. "However, you must be good seeing as you made it past the shad...the soldiers." He wasn't fully sure if this kid knew or not about the truth of what was out there. Putting his hands in his pockets he stood next to the other boy and looked outside. "A bit foggy out, isn't it?" He asked, glancing out of the corner of his eyes. This was normaly a good test of whether not someone knew what was going on.

"Sorry." Seiji said in the same voice he'd use for anything else, for what that was worth. Whether he was serious or not would be for the other boy to decide. With his peer seemingly not on his guard anymore, he lowered his hands and turned to look outside. He didn't know what to make of the other person being there. Part of him just assumed that he was like him. That assumption passed into the realm of something approaching fact when he spoke about the fog. Seiji could tell some roundabout innuendo when it was clearly dangled in front of his face. "You sure don't. The whole city looks different on the other side of that barricade, doesn't it?" He took a step towards the door, admiring the purple sky. It was strange, grotesque, and oddly beautiful. Admiration of beauty was usually Takeda's thing, but Seiji could appreciate it as well.
"And getting past Shad the Soldier isn't so hard. From my home, I just go down into the sewers, make a few turns, and come up not too far from this building." He was being honest, although that probably wouldn't be an easy fact to discern. "How do you do it? Get past them, I mean."
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Jonathon shrugged. "Even the best laid walls have a few holes in them. I found a spot where the guards patrols don't line up just right, so I just sneak out there. If not, there's a few other spots I sneak through." Jonathon took a step away from the boy. Then he quickly drew his sword and pointed it at the new comers chest. "No offense, just testing something out. So, what are you. A persona-user? Or are you just really lucky to have not been murdered by the shadows out here." Jonathon really had no idea where he was going from here, he was literally making this up as he went along.

The boy's eyes traced along the blade and up to the person holding it to his chest. Despite the calmness of his words, there was something approaching caution in his eyes. "I was wondering when you'd get around to that. Yes, I am. And I'd prefer not to summon it right now. It gets the shadows riled up." Call it a hunch, but Seiji had a feeling the other boy wasn't going to stab him. He turned and paced around the building. He thought better when he wasn't standing motionless in one spot. "There's a lot I don't understand about this place. It wasn't very long ago that my Persona awakened. Is there anything you can tell me? If there's anything you don't know that I do, I'll tell you all about it, and you won't even have to buy my book."
Turning back to look the other boy in the eye, he added, "My name is Seiji, by the way. Seiji Dalton."
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Sheathing his sword and nodding, Jonathon grinned a little. "Jonathon. Jonathon Montoya. You don't need to demonstrate your persona to me. If you have the guts to not only come here, but say you have one to a guy pointing a sword at you, I'll believe you. As far as what I know, I can't really say much. From what I've gathered I was a unique case. I faced a shadow of myself and when I overcame it, I got my persona. Plus, I summon mine like this." He held out his hand and summoned the card that contained his persona. "Besides that, I have no idea. Shadows showed up, now I fight them. So, what's your story?"

So, it seemed like he wasn't the only one in the dark about this. He had hoped that meeting another Persona user would lead to some answers but he had no such luck. Taking a deep breath, he drew into his inner self and summoned the card as well. "I summon mine like this as well. However, I encountered no shadow of myself when I awakened to my powers." Seiji found that an awful shame, facing oneself sounded more interesting than awakening due to mortal danger. The card disappeared, but not before turning around so that Jonathon could see a miniature version of Sir Gareth floating within the frame of the card. "There's not much to my story. I move to this city and a week later there's a blockade. My brother kept wanting to get past it. He went down into the sewers, ended up on the wrong side of the barricade. I saved his life and I've been exploring this building ever since. The shadows love this place. I hope to find some answers."
There was more to it of course, like Takeda and he wanted to scale the building all the way to the top and try to radio the outside world, but he'd get to that if Jonathon stayed around long enough to show interest.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”

"You're stuck here too though." Jonathon said. "I'd been here a couple months though. You at least can probably clearly remember where you originally came from. It's beginning to fade from my memory, my old home. The place I spent most of my life...Not that I'd like to. Bad memories back there. I'd rather not talk about them." Jonathon stopped and looked out at the fog. "Hey. This may sound like a dumb idea, but what do you think of the idea of teaming up? They say that things are easily with more than one person. So, what do you think? Wanna team up?" He said, smirking at him.

"Unfortunately." He muttered at Jonathon after he reminded Seiji that he was trapped by the barrier surrounding the area as well. The faint hope of getting out of this messed up situation and returning to true normalcy was a good flavor of cheese to dangle in front of his hamster wheel. Thinking back on the memories formed in his childhood on Okinawa, he felt mostly...apathy. "Which is worst, to have unremarkable memories, or memories strong enough to make you feel?" After the question was spoken, Seiji found himself pondering how odd a thing to say that was. He rarely even gave Takeda insights like that into how he really thought. Pondering how to reply to the boy's proposition, he finally nodded. "Two heads are better than one. You like swords, I wield bastard swords whizzing with electricity. You have a Persona, I have a Persona. We'll get along great"
Thinking for a moment, he realized that there was a question that had been burning him up since he reached a barrier keeping him from going up further in the building. "You know how some roleplaying games block your paths with a boss? The way up the tower seems to be blocked...you think there's some weird thing we have to beat to keep going?"
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Jonathon just shrugged at the quote about memories. "My old town wasn't they great. No friends, just people hated me. It wasn't nice. Then my dad got his new job and we came here...then we got trapped here and I got a persona..." Jonathon paused, thinking about his recent past. "As far as your thought about boss shadows. Bigger shadows, they exist. I fought one in the old train terminal. It was, ironically, shaped like a giant killer train. Almost killed me, maybe would have if I wasn't alone. There were these two girls there, they made it possible." He stopped and looked Seiji in the eyes. "If you ever meet one. Good luck."

Listening to Jonathon talk just a bit about his past, Seiji couldn't help but be reminded of the Okinawa military base. If you switched the words around a little and replaced 'hated' with 'felt total apathy towards', they'd be almost exactly alike. Wait, changing around what he said that much basically butchered it into something else entirely. "Huh, so there is a boss..." Armed with that knowledge, he felt suddenly uneasy, like something was watching them from the shadows. The feeling quickly passed though. "Well, if I ever encounter a shadow that seems to be particularly powerful, I'll cut my losses and run. Since we're working together, I'll bring you and then we'll be able to take it down together with my brother...or at least, that'd be a nice plan." Thinking back, Seiji actually didn't recall telling Jonathon that his brother was a Persona user.
That would certainly be an interesting development for most people.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”

"You have a brother?" Jonathon said, perhaps Seiji had mentioned it, but it had slipped Jonathon's mind during the conversation. "And he has a Persona too?" That was the bigger shock. Two persona users in the same family? Was that possible? Was that fair? Of course, Jonathon was an only child so he didn't really care too much. Still, it was surprising to hear that. "That's kind of cool...I guess. Being able to team up with someone that close to would give you a sort of edge in battle I'd think." He then realized the time. "Hey, I got to get going. See ya around Seiji. Stay safe or something." He said, heading back toward the quarantine zone.
