Despite being a Shadow, Adriel liked humans. They were interesting to her, and it could be fun to watch them at times. As she wandered down the sidewalk of a rather busy street, she watched the various people, seeing how they all interacted. She also took great joy in feeding off their various emotions, and there were definitely plenty of emotions to partake in. There was a guy in a photo store who was outraged because they actually expected him to read the instructions to operate one of the machines in said store. There was also a young couple who was being a little too lovey-dovey, doing a lot of hand holding and nuzzling. They were especially noticeable.
Even people's reactions to the couple provided some rather tasty emotions to feed off of, ranging from warm and fuzzy feelings upon seeing them to wanting to vomit over how sickeningly lovey-dovey they were. Personally, Adriel didn't understand it herself, but whatever. It was because she didn't understand that that humans fascinated her so much. There was one last thing she saw. A young boy, looking rather miserable, and his mother, who was completely ignoring him even though he was in obvious pain. From what Adriel could tell, he had been having intense stomach pains (possibly dur to an infection of some sort) for about a week, but she flat-out told him to stop being a wimp, then went back to texting on her cell phone. She even threatened to smack him a few times if he didn't stop.
Adriel was not amused, and did her best to contain her rage; it'd be bad to do anything with so many people around. Needless to Adriel was going to be paying her a visit later that evening. Then she'd make this disgusting woman wish she had taken better care of her son. But until them, she'd simply wait.
