Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Dave proceeded down the path towards the Mysterious Blonde Woman's home(?). Despite the fact that she creeped him out, kept everyone in the dark, and was likely manipulating everyone involved in what was going on to suit her own twisted schemes, Dave had taken her mission assignment to destroy some kind of... bird? He sighed. It had been one of the most rewarding missions on the board, he wasn't sure why.
If all things went as plan, he would just kill some kind of robin or something and be done with it. Easy fix, it was in the Outer Circle after all, so a quick persona attack should kill it without it suffering. Still, what a pointless waste of time for a mission. Granted, the bird might be some kind of Pterodactyl. That was always possible. This was the Outer Circle, where teenagers fight mysterious paranormal beings that controlled the world humans live in whilst the teenagers struggle against these Shadows while using their own supernatural beings that were actually themselves... technically.
The shack that he often sold junk to came into sight and Dave found himself standing in its surprisingly menacing shadow. There was nothing to do but wait at this point. The bird should show up, Dave had made sure to wake up early so that he could catch it before it showed up and disturbed that...woman.

You wait outside the designated location from where you were told you would find the "Bird" that you needed to take care of. Supposedly this bird was rather fierce. Not to mention, very big. Though according to the blonde woman, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.
Conveniently, a bird shadow was just in view coming right towards you! That was quick! Though, it isn't as big as you would have expected it to be. . .

Dave saw the Shadow approaching. Of course it wouldn't be this easy. He flicked his taser gloves on. He had left his bladed boots at home, not thinking he would actually need them. The gloves and Evoker were a precaution. The bird charged up fire in its gaping beak before firing it at Dave. He recognized it as similar to Takeda's agilao attack. He quickly Dove forward and avoided the attack. He shot his Evoker into his temple and summoned forth Shimon,
A yellow and white rune appeared above the bird, but it was swiftly dodged. Dave cursed. Shadows didn't normally dodge things. He had Shimon continue the light assault. All he had to do was drive the bird down. It fired another Agilao, and this time Dave was struck straight in the stomach, focusing too much on spellcasting. He jumped to his feet to continue the assault, only to be knocked down again by yet another Agilao attack.
As he hit the ground again, yet another sensation enveloped him. Things became fuzzy and blurry and Dave could feel reality slipping away. He struggled to his feet to face his opponent. It had moved while he was down, and now stood hovering there. Dave charged for it, having Shimon cast Mudoon on the target. The rune erupted where the bird floated and seemed to do damage. Dave close the distance to deliver a punch... only to come facefirst with something hard.
He fell to the ground and snapped out of his stupor. He looked up. He had run into a wall? That couldn't be right... unless the thing had tricked him with an illusion. He rolled to his feet, ready to fight again. The thing floated in the air above him, appearing amused at the mischievous action. Dave used this as an opportunity to cast a Hama spell directly over the bird's head. The force knocked it into the ground.
DAve didn't let up, he fired the Evoker into his head again, Shimon casting Mudoon at the spot th ebird had crashed into. It was sent skyward. Another pull of the trigger. Another Hama spell, knocking it back into the ground. Rinse. Repeat. Dave repeated the cycle twice more, dealing significant damage to the shadow. One more Hama and it was one the ground again. So this is what they call stunlocking?
Dave bridged the gap between himself and the bird and delivered a heavy straight punch, knocking the creature into oblivion. He fell along with his momentum, hitting the dirt. The agilaos had hurt like hell. He had Shimon cast Media to heal, but he remained mentally drained. It was about 15 minutes before he could get back on to his feet and enter the house in order to report his success in the mission.

Upon re-entering the house, you find the strange blonde woman sitting in a chair. She's simply staring at you with a blank look. Shouldn't you be out there, taking care of that bird? A smile overcame her face. Or perhaps, you thought that the thing you just killed was it~? A small giggle escaped her. Finally, she halfheartedly extended her finger over in your direction, pointing out the window.
There was a rather large bird out there it seemed. Very large. It would seem that the bird you defeated really wasn't the one you needed to. Perhaps you should take care of that now?

Dave stared in awe out the window. Seriously? Tat last bird had taken a lot out of him. This one looked even worse. The mysterious woman was probably hoping he would die or something. He sighed, taking another minute to steel himself from the coming battle. He couldn't rely on magic as much as he had before. He had about 2 or 3 more casts left in him. Any more than that would exhaust him mentally to a point where he would be unable to function. This meant that he would have to rely more on his fists, using what little magic he had to keep it grounded.
He charged outside, readying his Evoker. Suddenly, he felt the ground leave him as the wind swept up and he felt an intense pain stabbing through him as he went flying. It was a wind attack, of some sort. It was strong, stronger than any magic he had yet to see. He landed on the ground with a thud, dazed for a moment before pushing himself to his feet. He could take this. He had to be able to take this. It hurt like hell though.
A dark rune appeared at his feet. He recognized it and smiled, this was his chance. He pointed his Evoker to his head and fired as the Mudoon spell was cast. A rune of light appeared above the bird and knocked it partway out of the sky, where another rune was waiting. Thee bird was grounded from the two consecutive attacks. Dave could already feel his energy reaching a critical low point. He ran up to the bird and punched it with his taser gloves. Once. Twice. Three times. The bird screeched in pain from every attack. It was seriously hurting. Was it weak to impacts or electricity? Dave had no clue. He landed another punch, but the bird was already beginning to become airborne.
Dave fired his Evoker again and another light run appeared directly atop the bird, forcing it back to the ground where he kept punching it. Again and again and again. He was sweating profusely. His arms hurt from strain. Every breath was a gasp. The bird just wouldn't die. Almost all of his stamina was gone and his final punch was a weak swipe. The bird rose again, preparing itself to attack. Dave looked up at it angrily.
No.
In an act of desperation, he threw his Evoker at the bird, nailing it in the head and... destroying it. What? It died from that? Was this some kind of critical existence failure? Probably. He collapsed on the ground like before, this time lying there for as much as half an hour before he went back to the shack again. If there was another damn bird that was more powerful, that weird blonde lady was going to burn.
