Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

He hadn't been there long, but Desmond was starting to learn the lay of the land. Between actual personal experience, Merlin's directions, and the atlas that had been pretty easy to acquire, Desmond felt like he was learning how to get around in the city. Looking around at his barren surroundings, Desmond felt oddly at peace.
This was his natural environment. He was alone out here and nothing could get him when he had solitude for company. "Oh how I love you, one legged girls with hearts of gold." He sang as he made his way to the mines. Before deciding to explore that cold Tuesday night, Desmond may or may not have drank several gallons of alcohol that would poison someone who didn't have a natural Irish immunity to booze nor the vigor granted by the RPG gods to Persona users.
He was a little more open, more lucid, and much more lax about his safety precautions. Down into the mine he went, trusting his own instincts to get him out again. Evoker at the ready with a grenade in his free hand, Desmond stumbled around a corner and said, "Come on out, shadow brothers. Father Desmond needs some exercise." He was the pride of his organization, truly.

Something wicked lumbered out of the darkness. It was a laughing, yet somehow quite casual, Gigas. Oh great, another one of these things. They were either totally resistant to magic or had that one Achilles heel that took them down. Despite instantly falling into a fighting position, the creature seemed relaxed. Pointing at Desmond, a sudden burst of energy surrounded the Gigas followed by a weird shield. Oh great, he recognized that thing. It was Makarakarn. At least it was summoned the normal way and not by some really weird corn that magically gave him and his allies the same effect. Desmond didn't really like thinking back to the shadow incident where they found out corn could do that. The lives of Persona users were strange indeed. Gritting his teeth and showing a determined face despite being slightly drunk, Desmond said, "I don't know what a 'Desu' is, but I think it needs to die a slow, painful death. Persona!" Pulling the trigger on his evoker, Merlin was summoned and his inner self seemed to be in a good mood.
o3o
"Quit making those damn fish lips and get to work, Merlin." His Persona knew its own strengths and weaknesses after doing this for so long and it was easy as pie for it to cast Agilao. The spell jumped to the Gigas and then right back at Desmond. Due to his innate ability to nullify fire (which came in quite handy at parties, let it be known), the spell harmlessly fizzled out at his feet. Leaving the shadow wide open to a bit of experimentation. A burst of bufula clashed against the crazy chains unleashed by the Gigas as its followup attack. The great mighty beast was obviously hoping to induce Desmond into a state of drunken rage but as luck would have it, it had no such luck. Instead, Desmond persevered and cast another round of Agilao. Just before the flames could hit the Gigas, it once again cast Makarakarn and the attack bounced back. Damn, this thing was smart for being such a casual. "You're delusional if you think I'm gonna let up now." Merlin called down a harsh electrical storm right down on top of the Gigas. The gruffy, casual musclehead groaned in pain as it was hit by the burst of lightning.
Welp, looks like Desmond found its weakness.
The Gigas charged him and for the second time within those caves, Desmond was hit by the fist of an angry giant. Falling down and grimacing in pain, he looked up and saw the creature reach down to pick him up. Rolling as he was taught to do in personal combat training, he quickly and calmly placed his evoker to his forehead again and pulled the trigger. Merlin appeared again and the creature had almost no time at all to put up another Makarakarn. The lightning bounced back right on top of Desmond's head. Electricity rippled throughout his body and the hermit had to struggle to keep his dinner down. Despite his resistance to electricity, it still hurt to have a few hundred watts running through his body.
Unfortunately for the Gigas, the next attack hit home and the Gigas crumpled to the floor dead after another lightning strike. The thing was strong, but he was stronger. "Aw hell, I didn't even have to bring out the grenades" Which was probably a good thing considering he was in a mine and the Gigas would probably have just absorbed or reflected the kinetic energy released by the grenade.

"Hmm...one less shadow now than there was before." Merlin disappeared in a flash of light as Desmond stumbled back up to the surface with a purpose, a simple purpose that anyone from America could understand: He was drunk and he had a sudden craving for a hamburger. A hamburger he would have. A man should never be denied a nice, tasty burger. Trekking back through the city, he went to the gap, turned in his goods for some cash, and went to this really good burger joint on the corner of 34th and 42nd street. Great old 50's feel, good jukebox, a real classy joint.
