Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

"Who in the right mind does this to themselves on a regular basis?" Desmond gagged as he climbed out of the sewers smelling like yesterday's lunch. He'd hypothesized that the city's extensive sewer system would inevitably trace into the outer circle and his thesis was proved correct as he was greeted by the alien purple sky of the shadowlands. A maya that had been playing with a can in the street scurried off after seeing a powerful Persona user. At least the shadows were showing him some darn respect.
Out through the city he walked, bouncing a grenade between his hands recklessly. The air was cool enough to keep the explosive components from overheating and blowing him right into the afterlife. For a guy making his way through a destroyed city inhabited by all sorts of nasty creatures, Desmond sure had a casual air about him. "Should've brought a MP3 for the trip...I feel like listening to some tunes." He grumbled. Checking his phone, he saw that it powered on but refused to do anything. Damn shadow-gremlins were toying with him. That was alright, Dr. Kurtz had their numbers, mate.
Finally getting to the mine on the outskirts of the city, he put his pack down and trekked inside once more. He had a theory he wanted to test out. Sneaking through the mines, he tried evading shadows. He wanted to get as far down into the mine as he could. He had a feeling he was right about the hunch he'd formed.

"How many washed up 80's wrestlers do the shadows have in their number?" Desmond muttered as he drew his evoker and went to town on the two Gigases (Gigaii?) that showed up further down the mine. "You know what to do, Merlin." Of course the wizard did. It pointed its staff at one of the shadows and started scanning as they both attempted to pummel Desmond into the dust. While the good doctor was busy getting chased by the two massive creatures, Merlin apparently found the weakness of one of the Gigases. Looking back at the computer wizard, he saw a lightning bolt flash across its screen as it called down a mighty lightning strike on the creature. Of course, it didn't outright kill it, but it weakened it enough for Desmond to keep going with only one Gigas following him.
Deeper and deeper Persona user and weird computer Persona went with the two shadows in hot pursuit. He eventually ran into just what he was looking for, a barrier that kept him from going further down. "Looks like our backs are against the wall here, Merlin. I wish you could turn me into some weird toad so I could get out without having to fight Hulk Hogan." He smirked as the weaker of the two launched a Garula at him. Merlin responded instantly, matching the shadow's Garula with one of its own. Using the mild distraction, it launched another Garula at the other Gigas who was winded and knocked off his feet.
Carefully managing his skills, Desmond kept the two creatures from being able to get in close enough to use their stronger attacks. Eventually as the pair reached the point of exhaustion, Merlin unleashed a final burst of wind and lightning, defeating both Gigases and leaving him alone with the barrier. As his Persona scanned the area for other threads, he banged his fist against the barrier. "Nothin'. Not a thing...guess I'll just sit and pray someone comes along and finds the big shadow guarding the area."
