Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Akira strolled further into the Descent. He was actually somewhat eager to get into another fight. He wanted to see how else he could improve, going off of Shadows' abilities. There was that, and maybe he could somehow adapt, purely off of watching the skills being utilized. And, if not, he'd get to smash and wreck a face or two. Which, coincidentally, meant that he'd be utterly destroying them. He was perfectly all right with this outcome.
He just would have liked to find loot along the way, though. Money and mods would be nice. Maybe he could find a mod to nullify his ice weakness sometime? That would be pretty cool. Though he'd probably get some higher quality armor before implementing it.

As the youth proceeded forward into the depths, he felt a shudder go through his body. It seemed the next opponents were exceptionally powerful compared to the last few guys he had fought in the area. Where the earlier bunch could be considered typical mob-level enemies, the sensations he was getting from the group ahead felt like elite mobs- just a step under the area-level bosses. Despite the fact that the threat was high, the boy only felt his insides quiver with excitement. It seemed like a particularly good chance to try himself. Worst-case, he'd get his ass handed to him and run away like a coward. But, hey. Cowards lived.
Bringing his evoker out, he had Alma Elma use Rakukaja on him, maxing out the buffs, before slowly proceeding and gazing around the corner. One was like the ghost-mage from the other day. The other was. . . something indescribable. He couldn't quite put his finger on what to call it, so. . . he didn't. Ghost and Enemy Two, it seemed, were his enemies. So G and E2 would be their nicknames for quick reference. Now, the boy would have preferred to take both targets down quickly and easily, but E2 was just. . . too weird to safely approach. Instead, he'd focus on G and proceed based on the actions the two Shadows took. Sliding from cover, the boy directed the succubus to fire off an Agilao at G. The ball of fire burst and set the ghost aflame. It also alerted both Shadows to the boy's presence. He shot in between the two of them, stopping just long enough to lure them both into attacking, before diving to the side as they both fired spells off. G, unsurprisingly, fired off a dark-based blast. Oddly, the attack seemed to have absolutely no effect on the mass of nightmares. In retrospect, E2 fired off a blast of wind that shredded some of the ghost's cloak. A good start, really. Two blows on one enemy, new knowledge about their capabilities, and getting an idea of the nightmare mass's attributes.
Directing another Agilao at G, the boy weaved between the two shadows, watching both enemies cautiously. His eyes darted from one to the other while the ghost burned. Finally, one tried to attack. G fired off a blast of light. Okay, not entirely expected from a ghost, but he shifted to the side to avoid the attack. Unfortunately, E2 was immune to light as well. So it nullified light and darkness, but used wind attacks? Actually, something else was coming. The boy readied himself to dodge, but it seemed the effort was unnecessary. The upcoming attack was fire. The boy simply took it and observed the situation. If the enemy was firing off constant spells like that, while hosting nullifications to two seemingly unrelated elements, then there was a good chance that magic as a whole was a no-go on that one. That sucked, of course, but that was just the way the situation played out at times.
Directing yet another Agilao at G, Akira took his position between the two enemies once more. G burned while charging up. Seemed a lot like the charging that his frequent partner, Luka, was so fond of. That meant it would take a moment for G to actually attack. Instead, the boy checked on E2. Yellow sparks jumped just a bit. Seemed lightning was about to be fired. Shifting out of the way, the boy let the blast of lightning nail the ghost. That was three spells from him and two from the enemy on G. No doubt, the ghost was about to. . . give up the ghost. Deciding to assist the ghost in doing just that- but that was the plan from the very get go- he had Alma Elma fire off one last Agilao. The burst of fire seared through the ghost's cloak and left nothing as the blackness evaporated.
And then he was nailed by a nasty blast of ice. It hurt. It hurt plenty. But, fortunately, he had some nice armor and plenty of buffing on top of that. He could probably take one more without healing. A third would have left him in nasty condition, though. Taking that chance, though, the boy reviewed his information. The enemy nullified light and darkness and just went through the other four elements that he knew existed for non-physical attacks. Chances were, this guy nullified, resisted, repelled, or whatever every single magical attribute. If that was the case, then it was more than likely that a physical assault would be best. He leveled his scissors. Frankly, not even his perversion could bring him to be interested in the mass of nightmares. So, while he knew he had to attack, he had absolutely zero intentions of getting closer than necessary. Therefore, no punching, scissors only, final round.
The boy charged in, then whirled, slashing around the mass as he awkwardly danced to the side. He was fine with getting up close, but hell no to actually stepping on it. The Shadow continued to fire off spells, either at the boy or the succubus, but with both staying in constant motion, it was fairly easy to avoid the attacks. If one of them was in danger, then the other would act to redirect the attack. Not only that, but Alma Elma utilized Skewer every now and then, effectively causing theirs to be a waltz of destruction. It was one thing to fight with a partner. It was another to fight with separate manifestation of yourself, which managed to know exactly what you thought and act based off of those thoughts at that exact moment.
Winded and strained after the dance's conclusion, the boy watched as E2, in all of its nightmarish glory, melted into blackness on the ground. That was certainly. . . more trouble than it was worth. Good practice, though. He'd give the couple a point for that, at least.

Taking a moment to relax, the boy stretched his arms above his head and sighed, regulating his breathing and pulse. He was fairly fit, so this was a small task. Relaxed, he nodded to himself and took a moment to observe the remains of his enemies. Nothing on G, but E2, in his nightmarish demise, left a rather surprising thing behind. Somehow, by some strange twist of fate, the Shadow left behind an extraordinarily high quality pair of scissors, altered just like his own to serve as both scissors and a sword. That was certainly. . . highly convenient. Well, he wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth, and certainly not when the gift in question was an exceedingly nice weapon he could use. Hefting it up, he compared the weights; the new scissors actually seemed better.
So he got some new knowledge, beat down some powerful enemies, and obtained some very nice scissors. All in a damn good day's work, it seemed.
