Now, Sayu was not the sort of person that needed money. After all, she had wealthy parents, a benefactor, and a functional means of livelihood. However, she was not one to turn down free money. Picking up junk in the middle of her trips was no big deal, and giving it over to some woman for more money was obviously not an issue, either. That was why the young lady found herself standing in front of the blonde. She had set down a single object. Just one, you see. Not a collection of junk, but a singular piece. She liked to travel light. Furthermore, few objects did not provoke her sense of cleanliness. In other words, the piece she put down in front of the blonde was a functional, clean object.

The mute stared dully at the blonde, awaiting the money. She had half the mind to say something if it took too long.

”I would greatly appreciate it if you did not take too long, or any time at all, in exchanging this for money. In fact, it would be great.” The mute worded and typed in her message, giving the illusion that she could speak. Atop the counter was a singular piece of junk. She was not going to weigh herself down with nothing but junk as she went about the disgusting, Shadow-infested parts of the city. Instead, she would continue to bring in just one piece of junk. And she would receive the full pay-off for that singular piece of junk.

No if's, and's, or but's.

While Sayu did not like dealing with junk, simply because it provoked her germaphobic tendencies, she had absolutely zero qualms with taking valuable resources from a strange, crazy person. Her inhibitions were gradually outweighed by her greed, and she found herself, as usual, stepping right along into the Gap, hoisting a singular piece of junk that soon found itself on the blonde's counter. Junk for cash, indeed. So far, the blonde had accepted the junk and paid her a lump sum, despite the viability or original worth of the junk she deposited. For some reason, she felt, and knew, that it was the same the all the others received from her, regardless of the amount. Feeling a little bit pleased with herself over the thought of working smarter and carrying a single piece, she smiled very slightly.

Sayu was making some progress with her training. Not a lot, of course, but it was at least enough to believe that she felt stronger. She even carried more than one piece of junk to the Gap, in an attempt to make more than she had. The germs were there, of course, and they did feel as though they were nibbling at her body. However, compared to before, she was restraining her weakness and tolerating the sensation. Among her goals was completely overcoming that sensation. Whether or not it would be possible was something she controlled with her own two hands. She couldn't relapse. She couldn't let herself falter in progression. She needed to fix that if she ever planned on getting strong enough to fight it.

Sayu stepped into that one woman's shop. She didn't really enjoy the prospect of grabbing dirty things, but she was working through it for the sake of bettering and strengthening herself. With a silent sigh, she made it to the counter and began depositing goods with her free hand. As was the new norm, she actually carried more than one item at a time, which would have bothered her to no end before. Hell, it still bothered her a great deal. But sacrifices had to be made in order to achieve greater heights. That was just how it was. She didn't have to like it. She just had to overcome it.

Sayu stepped into the blonde lady's shop with a proud smirk. The girl had walked in without her gloves on. Then, reaching into a pocket, the mute produced a singular piece of junk. The amount was laughable, the quality more so, but the point here was something much more important. The girl placed the piece of junk down on the counter, yes. But it was with her bare hand. No glove. No protection. No wall guarding her body from bacteria or “the feelings” of other similar entities. She was growing. Slowly, yes, but also surely. She would definitely overcome her weaknesses. Even if the cause was less than admirable, she would grow and perform as she needed.

Sayu strolled right on into the blonde lady's shop and dropped her two fist-full's of junk onto the counter. No hesitation or concern was given, neither to the junk nor the counter. Both groups of junk had come from her right hand, though. And some lingering bits were still in her pocket. Either way, she was pleased to be handling her junk with her bare hands now. It was her own degree of progress that was slowly advancing towards greater and bigger things. One day, she would be good and set to do any number of things. Like trample over that one Shadow. And do other things. Other similarly important things. Like ruin the hell out of everything that was continuing to hold her in that prolonged vacation.

Sayu casually strolled into the Gap. Nobody unpleasant was there. Not even the asshole from the last trip she made there happened to be lurking. All the same, damn him for bothering her when she was minding her own business. Fabricated kindness was no different than a brandished knife. It cut deeply and spilled red, regardless of the scenery or the wielder. She let out a silent sigh before planting all her junk on the counter. With her bare hand. It still bothered her to some degree, but she had safely managed to transfer the junk from her junk pocket to the junk counter. Germs were ever-present, but, soon? Soon, she would step over them without giving a shit. She was pleased with such thoughts.
