Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
And...here Pyxis was again. Despite the sheer extent of battle damage within the floating castle, there was still plenty of things to bring back and sell. Where had it all come from? Almost everything Pyxis had been selling thus far had been left over by people who once lived and worked in the outer circle. Even the bigger and stranger stuff, like the minecart, had been human in origin. The rest was remains of shadows she had defeated. Again, an easily identifiable source, and one that she had ultimately created by liberating it from the shadows they had belonged to. But this? This was different. Pyxis had no idea where anything in the castle had come from.
Pyxis wasn't entirely sure she should have been selling some of the stuff she had brought back this time. Well, one item in particular. But it had just interested her so much that she had to bring it back, and now she had no use for it. It was, quite literally, a book bound in human flesh. She had thought it would be some evil magic book like in a video game, but once she got it back to her apartment she had just realized that it was just an ordinary book, only bound in a ghastly manner. Written in Spanish, even. What was she going to do that? Sell it, of course, along with some other stuff.
Pyxis hadn't gone anywhere specific for this week's haul. She just wandered around the city outskirts and picked up anything she found interesting. She managed to fill up a whole bag that way, too. That was surprising, since she figured that anything just out and about would be the first to be cleared up. It would be the places that were the hardest to get to that would still have the most salvageable goods, and anything that wasn't densely infested with shadows would be picked over by weaker Users and ordinary people who had found their way to the outside but never awakened.
Just another week of scattered stuff to bring back and sell. Some of it had come from the remains of strong shadows, some of it was just things she found lying around. The former was more interesting, though. She'd stumbled across a shining golden Gigas while exploring the library, and parts of its outer 'shell' of armor had been left over when it fell. So Pyxis had brought those back, as well as a couple more strange books. And the mad doctor shadow from the hospital had left behind a couple things too. All in all, it was a good week for salvaging.
This week, Pyxis had brought back the leftover remains of a big shadow she'd run across in the library. It had been in pieces once she defeated it, but parts of it could still be of use to...well, someone at least. She'd kept part of what she'd found, though, so she wasn't turning in the full set. To make up for this, she'd also done a bit of extra searching, bringing back the leftovers of other explorations and a couple books that wouldn't be missed.
That gave her an idea, though. Would it be possible, with enough manpower, to move large parts of the library into the safe zone? That way, people could look through them and try to figure it out without endangering themselves. ...No, probably not. She'd just have to clear it out somehow.
Armor remains from a Dark Knight. Torn but still usable fabric, a rapier, and a mask from a rather nerdy pair of dancers. And some other miscellanea that Pyxis had picked up on the way there and back. All in all, a very ordinary week of salvaging. There wasn't much of anything new, but then, there wasn't much need for it. Ammunition was still in good supply, her armor probably couldn't be upgraded any more than it already had been, and her weapons wouldn't need to be upgraded unless she happened upon something special. So even if she didn't get much, it wouldn't hurt her much.
With the latest scrap under the full moon and everything else, Pyxis hadn't really gone out and fought much yet afterwards. So, in order to find more to salvage off, she'd had to make a special trip. The library was looking more and more ransacked, so she'd gone and visited a few other areas to find things that got left behind. It took her awhile, but she managed to fill a whole bag to the point where a weaker human would have trouble carrying it. Pyxis was still good to go, of course, and easily carried it back to sell its contents.
