Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Jonathon walked through the district, looking for a spot to people watch. The fountain was surrounded with a crowd, some protests or something. Jonathon ignored it, there were other places to sit and watch ignorant people. Seeing a bench with a lone boy on it, Jonathon figured the kid wouldn't mind. He seemed enthralled enough in his manga that he would probably not even see Jonathon sitting there, but Jonathon decided it'd best to at least ask. "Excuse me?" He said, trying to get the kid's attention. "Is this seat taken? If so, I'll just move on to another bench around here."

"Oh, thanks." Jonathon was surprised a stranger acknowledged him. A lot of people were so apathetic in the quarantine they didn't even see anyone else around him. Maybe this kid knew what was going on. That was a crazy thought though. This kid was just another kid. Probably. "So. What's up...?" He said, just trying to start up conversation. "I'm Jonathon, Jonathon Montoya, also." He said, realizing he hadn't introduced himself to the kid. He realized he hadn't really met with many new people recently. There was that girl in the grocery store, but besides that, he hadn't met anyone knew since basically the meeting before the first full moon.

"I've lived here a few years now. Things were pretty sweet, till, you know, the whole military quarantine thing." Jonathon said, to Nigel, looking out towards the wall and the fog beyond it. Sighing a little at the sight of it, he was reminded that he was part of the team that was out to stop it. Was he though? Most of the time he was usually just there. Everyone else did most of the work in fights, he just was there. Another body that, if it came to it, might not be missed if something were to happen to him in the fog. "So, Nigel, what is is that a guy like you does for fun besides read manga."

Jonathon shrugged. "I do a lot of stuff. I like to read, anything decent really." He said, glancing at Nigel's Manga. "Basically anything I can do to pass the time. That's all people really can do now. School, then whatever I can find to do, rinse and repeat." He looked down at his hands. "Chess isn't that bad though. I'm not the best chess player in the city, but I know how to. I was pretty good when I was younger. No professional, but I could beat most of the kids in my class." He chuckled at the memory. "Say, why don't we play sometime."

"Alright then Nigel. Challenge accepted." Jonathon grinned at the boy. Between shadow fighting and fight club fighting, it'd be good to have a battle of wits for once. He had a feeling that when they did play chess, Nigel would just destroy Jonathon, but it'd be a fun get away. For once, Jonathon accepted that he was going to lose. Normally, the concept of losing irritated him, he'd failed a lot and wanted just to win once. This time though, losing wasn't a big deal. "So, when are you willing to do this thing? My schedule's pretty much open." He offered his hand for another handshake to seal the deal on this challenge.
