Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Akira pressed forward through the halls of the cathedral of Shadows. Back and to his right was Alma Elma. The succubus acted as a buffer for any attackers that, for some reason or another, came from the wall itself. In his left hand, his scissors were prepped and good to go. They were the buffer from the left. The front could easily be seen in time. Likewise, they could hear whatever came from behind. Furthermore, their defenses were solid thanks to Rakukaja. Armor also helped. In other words, they were set to go. They just required a new enemy to combat. After that, Akira would likely pull out for the day.

As the boy and his succubus pressed onward, the found an enemy that was not aware of their presence. Nothing wrong with that. Actually, it was okay to be the ambush-er every now and then. The boy readied his scissors. The succubus opened her tail. Theirs would be a two-pronged opening, followed by the waltz of damnation. Alma Elma flew overhead and dropped an Agilao atop the Shadow, drawing its attention to her. In the meantime, Akira shot in from behind and twirled with an upwards diagonal slash from right to left, following immediately with a downward slash from the right to left that was fueled by momentum. By that point, the Shadow tried to turn around to face the boy. It was immediately Skewered in the back by Alma Elma, then slashed along the side as the boy twirled around.
The Shadow let out a hiss as it prepared to cast something. It was immediately Skewered in the back as a result. The Shadow reared back. Thanks to that, and the boy's movement, the dark blast was entirely evaded. Slashes, vicious pokes, explosions of fire, and the occasional knee surge knocked the Shadow around, the two dancing around with practiced ease. When the Shadow tried to attack, they repeated the stun-and-run tactic. Eventually, the damage just compiled enough that the Shadow began to squirt its life “blood” out, liquifying and quickly evaporating. With the enemy's demise, the boy shook his head and laughed slightly.
”You're about five months too early to fight us like we are. And, by the time you're good enough to fight me now, I'll be even better. That applies to any other low-level riffraff around, you know!” With a shake of the head and a laugh, the boy began to head back, his succubus tailing him closely. That was a good enough match, he figured.

Akira and Alma Elma had done well enough on the way. No real, tangible rewards, granted, but the fact that they had triumphed not once, but twice, was a reward in and of itself. It also meant that they were improving. There was still so much more they could do to improve their capabilities. Before long, he was sure that he could stroll through even the cathedral with his head held high. At that point, even those Shadows would try to avoid him. With that kind of power, he would definitely be able to accomplish his goals. The issue with that was the same as it would be in a game.
