There were few amongst the populous of Mosaic City whom would find the scene of the alien purple skies that hung above the ruins of what was once half of their city to be anything worth admiring. Indeed there were those amongst the populous that were in the know, that regarded the sight of the city with a certain degree of disgust, the horrid sight of where doubtlessly many hundreds of citizens lost themselves to the shadows was something that few could appreciate. Amongst the few whom could regard the outer edges of the destroyed urban sprawl with any degree of admiration, was a lone youth whom strode effortlessly through the darkness of the abandoned subway system, on a trip towards the last sanctuary before the no-man's land what was once the western part of the city. With his shoes occasionally causing a dull thud against the metal, formerly electrified tracks of the subway system, the strange youth with a hood pulled up over his head kept his hands firmly planted in his pockets, watching as dark little figures scurried from place to place in an effort to hide from his direct line of sight. Wouldn't be long now until he saw the light of that glorious purple sky once more, as the chain around his right arm jingled to the rhythm of his footsteps...ascending the platform, the stairs shortly thereafter, the young one pulled back his hood, revealing a mess of white hair, and a face baring a smile. The gap, this makeshift sanctuary devoid of the influence of the shadows that were constantly besieging the city at large, was mostly deserted around this time of day, the middle of the night being as it was. There was a certain serenity to the scene, the various assortments of junk gathered up into makeshift tables, stalls, and behind the gap proper, the skyline of the ruined western side of the metropolis.
"Just another wonderful day in the neighborhood." The teen uttered in a calm, matter of fact voice that fit his rather pale frame. Making his way through the gap, into the ruined streets of Mosaic West, the boy kept his head low, deep in thought by all appearances. Cold and unforgiving, the winter was especially harsh here, in this land devoid of wildlife or human contact. Icy breezes frequently blew through the fog filled streets, chilling whatever scavengers found their way out here to the very core. In the time following the initial quarantine, those possessing the gift of personas had picked the various storefronts clean, on a pathway extending deeper and deeper into the city. Rising above the sea of fog and broken buildings stood an executive skyscraper, the location of the wandering teen's goal...he could recollect the notes quite clearly, the little board inside the mysterious blonde woman's shop held a note pertaining to a top notch personal computer, capable of running almost anything on earth. Cliff notes sent to him by his partner, the woman whom claimed him as her own personal knight...well, the payment would certainly be appreciated.
After but a few more minutes worth of walking through the constant mist that did it's best to hide away the movements of lesser shadows in the city's dilapidated western half, the lad uncoiled the chain from about his right arm, and found himself staring up at the giant monolithic tower. Time had not necessarily been kind to the aging symbol of excess, as looters had apparently broken through windows all along the ground floor, the front doors had been blown open by some previous battle, and the concrete that made up the outside was laden with various hairline cracks. Entering the lobby, the wild haired boy did definitely get a view of what remained from battles past...papers, burn marks, cracks in the floor, and the remnants of an old computer shell laid upon the floor, along with a few oxidized shell casings. Standing in the light of the other entrance was a familiar face, from what he could make out...with introductions being in order, the boy simply took a deep bow, placing a hand to his chest with his smile still present.
"A pleasure to see you again, your highness...well then, shall we begin by ascertaining the location of our objective?"
