Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Deeper and deeper Layla went into the gaping chasm the other Users called Devil's Descent. She was now on her second trip into the hole, and already deeper than she had managed to get on her first trip. The shadows, thus far, were difficult but manageable, although she was now painfully aware of why she had stayed away from the place before. Another encounter with a shadow packing ice attacks would probably force her to retreat once again. Hopefully, though, she would be able to get a little farther this time.
The bottom of the hole was still nowhere in sight. Layla could tell that both in distance and ability, she still had a long way to go.

More formless shadows. Layla knew from her last trip into the depths that even the tiny, formless ones could pack a dangerous punch, but these two...she wasn't so sure about them. One seemed to be larger than average for the formless ones, and had trouble moving. The other was much smaller, and was raising thin, almost skeletal (if such a term could be applied to these formless blobs) arms to strike at Layla with.
Layla opened with a Mahamaon, which damaged both of them with no trouble, and was met with a very strong bolt of lightning in response. Okay, don't hit that one with electricity. Good enough. The other one? Molded a massive fist out of part of its oversized blob of a body and punched Layla with it. Right then. Formless shadows down here still being very strong still held true. Layla hit thew two of them with a second flare of light, then made her way over to the wall to hopefully minimize the impact of oncoming attacks. It didn't work so well, and she was again hit with a bolt of lightning and, interestingly, a slash attack. She countered the slasher with a bolt of lightning of her own, finishing it off, but that did very little to stop the thinner shadow from hitting her with a third. For a second, Layla had to take to one knee under the combined force of multiple attacks. After catching her breath, however, she pushed past the pain and got back to her feet, rushing the remaining shadow and striking at it with her otta and as much force as she could muster, sending it flying off the path and over the edge into the depths.

Huh. Well, that worked. The last of the formless shadows just kept falling over the edge until it was out of sight. If it somehow survived, it would be able to get back up to Layla somewhere around never. It was probably dead, though. Layla breathed a sigh of relief, then stopped for a moment to heal herself. With how much farther she had gotten than last time, this would be a good place to stop, but she did want to see if she could get a little bit farther. She doubted it would be far enough to even see the bottom, but she could at least get closer to that eventual goal.
