Picking a Fight Underground (Mod)

I'm here again. This is where I took the mission with the mute girl, and once again I return here to see if I can find anything interesting other than rocks and most other things. Making my way down the cavernous depths of the Devil's Descent, or so it's been called by most. I wanted to see if this place had anything else other than bats and other disgusting creatures in general. I hoped to be pleasantly surprised. At the end of the day, though, this was just another excursion in order to become stronger and to become more acquainted with the environment, since I knew that looking for information required other avenues of action, avenues that I had already planned for and started to act upon. I will be able to accomplish a lot on that front in due time. Right now, though, perhaps it might be more prudent to look around and potentially look for a fight.

It looks like a giant that should be one of those ice giants, but instead it seemed to radiate some sort of heat from its body. I could feel it even though I figured I was a good distance away. As the giant turned to face me, I could see the anger and malice in its eyes, something I hadn't seen since... I'm not exactly sure since how long. It cracked its knuckles and began lumbering towards me, chargin up something in between its two palms, before launching an almighty dark nova at me, it looked impossible to dodge, and soon I found myself tanking the massive attack to my face. I was knocked back into the cavern walls and I rubbed my face, slowly picking myself back up and charging a bolt of electricity, retaliating with a thunder spell of Ziodyne, making what I recognized to be a Jotun lurch backwards a little.

Though, it was still in fighting shape, it decided to charge at me and punch me with a force no human should be able to survive. Of course, I shrugged it off and retaliated by whipping out my knife and bringing it down on the giant, concentrating all my strength, my arm glowing white a little and trying to cut through the giant. It made a deep cut along the torso, causing it to roar in some amount of great pain. Of course, it roaring had to do something bad as fire literally started to pour out of its mouth and down on me, which I was forced to weather, though I was resistant to it somewhat, it still hurt. I charged up a bolt of electricity again and watched as it made the Jotun fall over from the impact, already seriously injured by my empowered slashing attack.

It slowly got up and started to charge up another ball of dark nova again, in a last hurrah, I suppose, since I gripped my knife tightly and went for another attack. The almighty black hole... nova, thing, fell on me, and I was knocked into the wall again. I must have hit some sharp rocks too because this hurt a lot more. Shivering and shaking as I dusted myself off, I charged at the Jotun, and I raised my knife, soon bringing it down again with the same slashing technique - 'Heaven's Blade' - and soon enough, I managed to cleave the now-weakened giant by cutting through the line I had created with my first attack. Its essence dissipated and dispersed throughout the environment.

I kneeled and coughed, taking some time to catch my breath.
