Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.
A few more shortcuts down into the Devil's Descent landed Pyxis in the very depths of the sinkhole. Here, the only light she had to guide her was artificial, either from lights built into her eyes and body or from her Persona. She was relying on the former at the moment, looking around the absolute mess that had been left in the depths. Most of the ground under her feet was made of debris from up above, covering a wide area of the 'ground floor'. But, Pyxis could tell that that wasn't the extent of what was down here. There seemed to be caverns of some sort leading off from the main hole, and even shadows deeper down than where she was currently standing. Perhaps she would have to come back again later, once she was done here. There was, after all, a lot more to this place than her 'tour' of the outskirts would let her see.
And among the debris and remains of whatever other ruined remains of what had once been a part of city lay at the bottom of the pit, another single figure had appeared to greet Pyxis. Well...perhaps 'greet' was not the proper term. Because this Gigas type, with his meal of...something metal...being interrupted, looked ready to punch Pyxis in the face.
So, Pyxis started shooting.
The Gigas was, for the most part, undeterred by the sudden hail of bullets. Which wasn't to say it wasn't effective, just that it really wanted to punch Pyxis in the face, and wasn't going to let being turned into a beehive stop it. And so it charged straight through the bullet storm and punched Pyxis in the face. To absolutely no effect. The Gigas recoiled away in the aftermath of its failed attack, opening it up for Pyxis to continue shooting. Instead of attempting to punch again, it struck a pose, pointing its finger at Pyxis. A beam of light shot from the fingertip, striking Pyxis square in the chest. Pyxis stopped shooting for a moment, assessing the damage the massive beam had caused. It...actually wasn't all that much. Her armor wasn't perfect against piercing techniques, but it did resist them enough to take the edge off. The Gigas stepped back again, grunting with displeasure.
Behind Pyxis, Elpis materialized again, and began glowing brilliantly as she charged up. The Gigas seemed to get the idea to do the same. It gave a distorted laugh and started building up energy. Pyxis could tell that its attack, defense, and evasion had all risen, but unless it managed to dodge all of her bullets, that would amount to very little. Especially not when every single one of them was carrying the charge Pyxis had just built up.
...Yeah, that didn't last long. The Gigas fell almost immediately after Pyxis resumed her barrage.
By all rights, Pyxis could have kept going. And maybe she should have. But now that she had gotten this far, and proven herself to be able to handle the very depths of the shadow-infested sinkhole, it was time to add one final stop to the "tour" of the outskirts. One that she had been putting off until the very end anyway, due to the sheer daunting prospect of trying to conquer it. That's right, it was time to storm the castle.
She turned, and started back up the path leading to the surface. Unlike the slide down, Pyxis was going to have to take the long way back up. That was another reason to avoid pressing farther. While she was fine now, if she ended up overextending herself she was likely to end up having much greater difficulty getting back.
"This place needs a warp point at the bottom," she remarked.
