Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Today, Holly was doing more cliff exploration. She was pretty confident she hit all the caves in the safe areas and the cliffs near the safe areas, so it was time to get even more dangerous than usual. There were some handholds, but even skilled climbers would probably think she was a total idiot for attempting to scale the sides with no gear. Well, it wasn't the first time she's done it, and it was always find before. Her persona enhanced her physical abilities greatly, so it made sense. Thus, Holly hopped around the side of the cliffs looking for more caves to check out.

First, she sensed a very powerful shadow. It wasn't quite on the level of a stratum guardian, but it was significantly stronger than any of the normal rabble she encountered. Unfortunately for her, she was precariously hanging on the side of a cliff and trying to fight something like that there would be a very bad idea. Before she could scramble down the side into the nearest cave she heard chains rattling. It wasn't that long after she sensed the shadow, and the sound was still faint. However, it was quickly getting louder. Holly scrambled towards the nearest cave she could see, nearly falling off the edge a couple of times due to risks she was taking to get there faster. She wasn't quite fast enough.
A large shadow flew up the side of the cliff and loomed over her. Holly figured she would reach the cave soon if she kept moving, but that assumed that this thing didn't knock her off first. She clicked her tongue and her auto-buffs activated. Considering how strong this shadow was, casting more than one stack of Debilitate would probably be useful. As she continued swinging across the cliff, she slammed her card into the side of it summoning Anaisa Pye and weakening the shadow for the first time. The shadow continued looming over her for a moment as if examining her closely. Before she could get another debuff off it cast a powerful ice spell on her. Normally that would have been bad, but her trusty armor had been serving her well. The shadow just looked confused for a moment as she shrugged off its hit. She continued her way down the side of the cliff and to the cave and cast another wave of weakening energy as she did so. That was two now, one more and she'd be ready to attack. The shadow once again, sent out another ice-based attack, nearly freezing her to the side of the cliff. Once again, she was able to shrug off the attack and pull herself out of the ice with relative ease. Now the shadow just looked pissed. Or rather it was very clearly trying to make itself more intimidating than it already was. Holly sent the final wave of weakening energy at it, and she was almost to the entrance of the cave. She was lucky nothing super dangerous happened yet.
Well, she managed to get into the cave now, but it wasn't quite the way she expected it to happen. The shadow rammed its fist into the side of the cliff, just above Holly. The cliff started to break apart, and the hand holds she was using were no longer any good. Thinking quickly, she pushed herself off of what remained of the cliff and jumped off the pieces of debris as best she could. It wasn't much, but it was enough for her to get just enough distance to grab onto the edge of the cave she had been running towards. The shadow shook its head and charged at her again, but she flipped right into the cave and once again, it only slammed its fist into the side of the cave causing the edge to crumble. Holly ran into the cave, throwing some knives at the shadow behind her. The shadow charged at her again, finally hitting her for once, making her fly into a nearby stalagmite. They were both in the cave. Now the real fight could begin.
Holly was still feeling okay, but considering how strong this thing's attacks were it was probably better safe than sorry. She called forth Anaisa Pye again and was surrounded in a soothing aura that closed all of her wounds. The shadow stepped back, as if realizing that moving recklessly would be dangerous for it, and summoned a large blast of lightning just to Holly's left. Looks like her hexes were doing the trick. If the shadow was smart enough not to bring the place down then she was going to have to do this the traditional way. That said, with her weakness covered by her armor and the fact that healing took very little energy out of her now, all she had to do was bide her time and slowly chip away at its health until it was defeated just like all the other shadows that attacked her.

As the shadow disappeared, it left a prize behind, not unlike the stratum guardians. It was some extremely sturdy armor, way stronger than her current armor and stronger than pretty much everything she'd seen at the weapon shop too. With a little work she was sure she could make it strong and cool looking. For now, she'd keep her weaker armor just in case she came across some ice wielding shadows on the way out. This wasn't quite what she was expecting on her trip down into the depths today, but she wasn't about to complain. This was the best thing she had ever found.
