Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

Jaelyn wasn't strong enough. She was never strong enough. No matter how easy fighting regular shadows got, no matter how many big fights she'd survived, there was always someone stronger than her. Always something reminding her that she was just a weak little girl with delusions of power. No. She wasn't going to stand for it. She wouldn't accept it. She had to keep getting stronger, until she could destroy anyone who dared try and claim that she was weak. She would burn it all. One way or another, she would find her way to the top.
What then? She hadn't thought that far ahead. Right now all she was concerned about was killing shadows until she felt better.

Ugh, what was this thing? Another hand? Jaelyn didnt need that. But it was in her way, so she was going to kill it. First, she boosted her speed so that it couldn't grab her. Didn't stop it from trying, in a very delicate way that made it seem like it was trying to charm her. But it didn't work. Jaelyn kept enhancing her speed, while the hand kept trying to grope her like the grope-y hand it definitely was. Sheesh, this one was worse than the last one.
After the last time, Jaelyn just gave in and stabbed the damned thing. The hand immediately stopped trying to grab her, and instead curled into a fist and tried to smash into her with alarming force. With her speed boosted so far, she successfully dodged, and watched the hand put a massive dent in the ground behind her. She turned around, let loose a fireball...and did absolutely nothing.
"Fuck," she said. Why did it seem like so many things negated fire?
Well, at least she had a means of dealing with that now. And stabbing worked, too. When the hand got the bright idea to try doing the same thing right back to her, Jaelyn called on Caligula to stab the hand, poisoning it. Then...it healed itself. Completely. What the hell?
Well, at least it would take damage from poison for a bit. Jaelyn switched tactics, negating its fire weakness then dropping massive fireballs on the shadow while dodging a few more attacks. After a couple fireballs, it just went and healed itself again. Getting more irritated by the second, Jaelyn charged up another one then, after failing to dodge and taking a hit from a lightning bolt, dropped another fireball on it. It threw out another lightning bolt, hitting Jaelyn again, but Jaelyn re-negated its fire immunity and charged up again. The poison seemed to wear off as she did, but it had done its job. Unless it healed again...nope, it tried to punch her again, but she managed to avoid it. Then, Jaelyn directed Caligula to drop one more fireball, finally finishing it off.

Well, it had happened again. A freaking hand of all things was now forcing Jaelyn to go back after only a short trip. Again. Because evidently it wasn't enough to just hit her hard, it had to put her through the runaround until she was too tired out to effectively keep going. Why did a random-ass shadow have healing abilities like that, anyway?
...No, never mind. She didn't want to know. She didn't care. Jaelyn was too worn out to wonder about things like that. This wasn't a matter of strength this time. Actually, her strength had probably prevented her from fighting an impossible battle. If she couldn't supercharge her attacks, or nullify the hand's fire immunity, who even knew what would happen.
Jaelyn wasn't going to think too much on that, though. She was just going to start heading back.
