Mosaic City, located along China's coast, is quite large city sometimes called the Crossroads Between Nations due to its diverse population. While it was once a large tourist spot, the city was placed under a blockade as the military appeared claiming there was a radiation leak. The true hazard, however, is much more sinister.

This was starting to get ridiculous. Was there going to be even one time where she could handle more than a single battle down here? Jaelyn admitted that she couldn't and shouldn't complain. After all, before that she was complaining about everything being too easy. But now, she had a different problem. Namely, that she was going down into a quarter mile deep pit, fighting a little bit, then having to go all the way back up while injured or exhausted.
Fuck it, maybe she should just make some kind of base station down here. There had to be a way to shadow-proof an area. It worked for Sakuya, right? It was something to ask about next she met up with her, at least. For now, fighting was the more immediate concern.

Jaelyn soon ran across a couple of weird things. One looked like a featureless woman on a floating upside down pyramid thing, and the other was a tower of faces. Ugly faces, at that. Whatever. She set to work boosting her speed, something that had started to become vital for this sort of thing lately. The floaty shadow did some...thing with its hand, something that was probably supposed to be alluring. But it didn't work. Then the tower leaned over and smacked into Jaelyn. She failed to dodge it, but it didn't managed to do anything but hit her a bit. She boosted her speed two more times, this time managing to avoid attacks from both both times. One of them had been a wind attack. Shit.
"Fine, I guess I'm burning you alive first," Jaelyn said, dropping a massive fireball on the shadow. It fell straight to the ground, landing on its point then flopping over on one side. The figure seated on top of it snapped its fingers, surrounding the two shadows with an aura of some sort. The tower then sent a fireball of its own at Jaelyn...but of course it did nothing. Jaelyn dropped another Agidyne on the idol, finishing it off, then turned to the tower. It again swung its top head around in a wide arc, trying to hit Jaelyn. It succeeded, too, but in doing so put it in perfect range for Jaelyn to just stab it. Which she did, causing it to recoil and violently start swinging. From there, all Jaelyn had to do was stab and occasionally dodge until she finished it off.

That one had gone slightly better than the last several battles. It still dragged on for longer than Jaelyn would have liked, but she was at last not too hurt or exhausted to keep going. Progress! All she would have to do this time was rest for a few minutes, then keep going. Maybe she'd even get up to two fights in a row this time. Or even three. Oh, she hoped it was three. Climbing back up out of the hole was not something she was looking forward to doing at the moment.
So she found a decent place to sit down and rested for a bit.
